The Department of Thermal Power Plants has been a cornerstone of our university since its establishment in 1946, initially named "Boiler and Thermal Power Installations." The foundation was laid by its first head, Associate Professor G.I. Dobkin, along with Associate Professor E.A. Kuzovnikova from the Ural Polytechnic Institute, and Senior Lecturer Y.P. Kuzmin.
