On 13 October 2026, students of the Department of Geodesy and Aerospace Geotechnologies of the Faculty of Transport Communications visited the state enterprise Belgeodesia, an organization that commissions personnel training for future specialists. Leading specialists and executives delivered lectures to the future geodesists, including Head of the Legal and HR Department I. V. Yakimenko, Head of the State Geocenter A. A. Bakanov, and F. N. Krasovsky Prize laureate V. M. Krasutsky. Students explored the work of key divisions: the Center for the Satellite Precise Positioning System (principles of satellite positioning and real-time navigation data processing), the Photogrammetric Works Department (digital orthophotomaps, 3D terrain modeling, and remote sensing data processing), and the Metrology, Standardization and Verification Department (calibration and servicing of GNSS receivers, total stations and UAVs, plus a tour of the exhibition complex showing the evolution of surveying instruments from classical optical tools to laser scanners). Such encounters with industry help students better understand the structure of the modern surveying sector, see the practical application of university theory, and strengthen motivation for their future careers.
