In anticipation of the New Year holidays and winter magic 22.12.2021 Uzbek students together with the methodists of the Belarusian-Uzbek Interdepartmental Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications visited the Christmas exhibition project "Museum of Christmas-toys", which was held in the National Historical Museum of Belarus!
The exhibition presented Christmas decorations from Europe, Asia, Australia, America and Africa, which have no analogues in any European museum.
The exposition tells the history of the production of glass balls and other decorations from the middle of the XIX century to the present day and introduces the traditions of the New Year holidays in such countries as Congo, Peru, Indonesia, New Zealand and North Korea.
"By visiting this exhibit, anyone can take a virtual journey through the New Year's holidays of countries around the world," said collector of Christmas toys Andrei Begun.
According to the collector, it all started when he used to bring Christmas tree toys instead of magnets or plates from far away travels. When the objects became numerous, the idea of showing the unusual collection to a wide circle of people arose. Thus, a small hobby grew into a lifelong endeavor. "One of the most expensive pieces in the collection is a ball from the Vienna Ball in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It's a huge glass ball about the size of a basketball. During the many years that we have been engaged in museum activities we tried to find a pair for it: we looked for it at flea markets and internet-auctions, but never found it. So this might be the last ball of this size", said Andrei Begun.
The exhibition had a festive atmosphere, as if you were back in your childhood and found yourself in a New Year's fairy tale. All the racks looked bright and unusual, eyes were diverted.
Especially we liked the rack with toys of the legendary factory in Klin, also the rack of Dutch porcelain toys, which looked very interesting and stood out against the rest, and of course the toys of KOMOZJA, manufacturer of beautiful Christmas-tree, decorative and Christmas decorations. In general all the exhibits looked very unusual and delightful!
In addition, the exhibition had a large wall with stickers, on which everyone left his innermost New Year's wish.
The exhibition left very positive and warm memories, helped Uzbek students feel the atmosphere of the holiday away from home.
