Today, on September 5, a solemn ceremony was held at the Belarusian National Technical University, where cadets of the Military and Technical Faculty took the military oath of allegiance to the Republic of Belarus. 112 cadets took the oath.
After the solemn unveiling of the National Flag and the farewell speech by the head of the Military Training Faculty, Colonel Alexander Talerchik, the cadets recited the words of the military oath.
At the event, First Vice‑Rector of BNTU Andrei Safonov addressed the recruits with congratulations, emphasizing the significance of the chosen path, noting the university’s contribution to strengthening the country’s defence capability, and wishing the recruits peace and success in their studies.
“Comrades, cadets, today we have a significant and solemn event.” By taking the oath, you join the ranks of the Belarusian National Technical University, the leading technical university in the Republic of Belarus. You are taking the first, but very important, step in your life — a step on the path to your profession, which is difficult, but at the same time honorable. I would like to emphasize separately that the armed forces have always been, are, and will remain a stronghold of peace and development for our country. And the Belarusian National Technical University is making considerable efforts to ensure the officer corps, and therefore the defence capability of the Republic of Belarus. Comrades, cadets, I sincerely congratulate you on this important and significant step. I wish you further victories, a successful graduation from the university, and a peaceful sky above your heads.
Colonel Alexander Budenkov, Deputy Head of the Logistics Department of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus for the construction and stationing of troops, emphasized in his parting words that studying at the military‑technical faculty will be a starting point for the cadets in becoming professionals capable of upholding the glorious traditions of the officer corps, and the oath they take will forever remain the main law of service to the people and the Republic of Belarus.
Congratulating the cadets on taking the oath, the cleric of the St. Elizabeth Monastery, Priest Igor Galakov, emphasized that this day marks the beginning of the path to a military career and wished the young men strength of spirit, diligence in their studies, and impeccable service.
With maternal pride and faith in the future defenders, the mother of the cadet who took the oath, Alena Krasovskaya, addressed the recruits, wishing the future officers resilience, success, and promising parental support on their path to becoming officers. Cadet Vladimir Bolbas, in turn, assured that all the arriving students would take their studies seriously in order to justify the trust and do everything for the security and prosperity of Belarus.
The event concluded with a traditional group photo, which brought all the participants of the ceremony together. These images will preserve for a long time the exciting moment of taking the first step into the profession of a defender of the Fatherland.
We congratulate the cadets on this important step; may the chosen path be worthy, and may their service be honest and courageous.
