On 27.08.2026, a preventive meeting was held in the main building of the Belarusian National Technical University for new foreign students with Vadim Vladimirovich Smolik, Deputy Head of the Department for Citizenship and Migration of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Administration of the Sovetsky District of Minsk.
The event was organized to facilitate the legal adaptation of students who have arrived from abroad and to explain the provisions of the migration legislation of the Republic of Belarus. The meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue, where everyone could receive competent answers to their questions.
During the conversation, attention was focused on several vital aspects of foreigners’ stay in Belarus:
- Compliance with the migration regime. Students were reminded of the strict necessity to comply with the deadlines for temporary registration, to properly prepare documents when changing their place of residence, and to avoid overstaying the visa regime.
- Employment rules. The nuances of part‑time work during studies were explained: on what grounds it is possible to work, what documents are required for this, and how legal employment differs from illegal activity.
- Administrative liability. A representative of the Internal Affairs Directorate warned about the consequences of violating traffic rules, drinking alcoholic beverages in public places, and participating in unauthorized events.
- Security in the digital environment. A separate section was devoted to discussing fraudulent schemes on the internet and precautions to take when communicating on social media.
