First year: important questions from the first days of study

Первый курс: важные вопросы с первых дней обучения

On August 28, the Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics of BNTU held an organizational meeting for first-year students. The meeting became an important part of the freshmen’s adaptation to university life and provided an opportunity to meet representatives of the Dean’s Office and learn about the main rules and specifics of studying at BNTU.

During the meeting, students received important organizational information concerning the educational process, internal regulations, and rules of conduct at the university. Particular attention was paid to students’ responsibilities and the importance of following the established rules from the very beginning of their studies.

An important part of the meeting was a presentation by Elena Nikolaevna Bulko, an inspector for juvenile affairs at the Department of Internal Affairs of the Administration of the Sovetsky District of Minsk. During the preventive discussion, she addressed a number of issues that young people may encounter in everyday life.

Particular attention was paid to fraud prevention and ways to protect oneself from unlawful actions, as well as liability for criminal offenses and administrative violations. The inspector also spoke about the consequences of alcohol and drug use, as well as the harmful effects of smoking and other addictive behaviors.

The discussion was held in an open dialogue format. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive explanations regarding specific real-life situations. Practical examples helped make the information more accessible and demonstrate the potential consequences of reckless actions and violations of the law.

The organizational meeting was not only an opportunity for freshmen to receive essential information, but also an important reminder of each student’s personal responsibility. Successful adaptation to university life begins not only with studying, but also with understanding one’s rights, responsibilities, and accountability for personal decisions.
