Established on June 11, 2003, the Military-Technical Faculty (MTF) traces its origins to the esteemed military department founded in 1933 at the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute. Throughout its history, the MTF has trained more than 30,000 students, awarding them the rank of reserve lieutenant. Notably, over 3,000 graduates have pursued careers in the Armed Forces of the USSR and the Republic of Belarus, with a significant majority serving as engineering officers.
MTF alumni include ministers, academics, governors, and mayors. During the Great Patriotic War, a large number of graduates from the early 1930s to 1941 joined the frontline efforts. Archival records show that around 300 faculty members, graduate students, and students received prestigious military honors, with distinguished graduate Fyodor Malyshov awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union in 1941.
Emphasizing a strong military component in both education and character development, the MTF fosters professionalism among military motor vehicle operators, engineers, and financiers.
Beyond academics, the MTF excels in sports, achieving top rankings in national and international competitions, including victories in the Spartakiad of military faculties and institutes and other prestigious events. The faculty is recognized as one of Belarus's best, equipped with modern educational technologies and providing excellent living conditions for its cadets.
