Today, April 3, the competitive days of "Spring of BNTU" have come to an end, and we can only wait for the gala concert, where we will learn the results of all the competitive days. However, let's take a moment to reflect on the most dynamic day of the festival, the dance celebration.
If the days of STEAM, instrumental music, and vocals made the audience hold their breath, today's dance festival kept the audience on their feet. This day was marked by a truly vibrant and diverse musical program, with rhythms flowing seamlessly and the audience filled with an endless energy of excitement.
The students from various faculties showcased their choreographic skills in a wide range of styles, from classical to contemporary street dance.
The evening was opened by the hosts, Nikita Shilov, Alexandra Smal, and Pavel Mardanyan. Even before the creative performances started, the guys held a dance battle with eight volunteers from the audience – brave, fast and charged with winning. The participants fought for the BNTU Spring merch, demonstrating the plasticity of the body and the sense of rhythm. The fight was hot.
To evaluate the skill of the BNTU dancers,
Months of preparation, dozens of rehearsals, and hand-embroidered costumes – all for the sake of the audience’s endless applause. Now, let’s delve into the details of the performances.
The first act was performed by the Faculty of Engineering and Education. The students took to the stage on a children’s electric car, which was both unexpected and visually striking. The dancers’ colorful pigtails added a touch of summery charm to the performance. Next, the street dance section took the stage, showcasing rhythmic and free-flowing choreography. The performance was completed with acrobatic elements: supports, flips, and jumps, which the artists performed without a single mistake.
The Military-Technical Faculty burst into the 90s-style celebration. The stage turned into a dance battle zone of that era. The guys played out a real production to the iconic track "Hands Up!". The hall was buzzing, many people started singing familiar lines. The VTF staged a nostalgic battle for the audience's hearts.
The Faculty of Energy Construction took a different path and chose high culture with irony and style. They transported the audience from the noisy student hall straight to the Hermitage – in the time of Peter the Great and Catherine the Great. Images of emperors and courtiers appeared on the stage. All this was interpreted in a modern way.
The Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics chose a much darker genre. Their act resembled a puppet theater, which gradually turned into a horror. First, there were cute dresses, mechanical gestures, and unnatural smiles, then the lights went out, the music became unsettling, and characters from a thriller appeared on stage, with their sharp movements and frightening poses. FITR proved that the scary can also be beautiful and artistic if you approach it with imagination.
The Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering chose a fairy tale, and they were not disappointed. The stage was immersed in an Arabian night: "Aladdin," with its oriental rhythms, flowing fabrics, and golden hues. For a few minutes, the audience believed in the existence of a flying carpet and a genie. The students of the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarization managed to create the atmosphere that makes festivals so special: an atmosphere that makes you want to stay.
The celebration of dance was concluded by the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarization. The students of the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarization appeared on stage in fashionable office attire: jackets and ties, skirts and trousers added a touch of formality, but also a touch of daring. Their main message was louder than the music, and the audience just sang along: "Where are the best parties? At our club." Looking at how they moved in their business suits, it was hard to argue with them.
Four of the most exciting competition days are over. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the jury to complete their work, calculate the scores, and announce the results. On April 7, we will know the outcomes of all the competition days. Who will win the grand prize and become the face of BNTU Spring 2026? The final results will be announced at the gala concert.
