Do the right thing: the Military-Technical Faculty

Поступай правильно: военно-технический факультет

Military engineering is a unique field where the highest level of technical training is inextricably linked to a steely character, responsibility, and dedication. The modern army requires highly qualified specialists capable of managing the most complex technical systems, constructing strategic facilities, and competently managing financial logistics. These are the kinds of professionals trained by the Military Technical Faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University.

What is the Military Technical Faculty like?

Colonel Mikhail Skiba, Deputy Head of the Military Technical Faculty for Ideological Work, spoke in detail about the specifics of training future officers, the unique support conditions, and the 100% guarantees for graduates. He emphasized that the Military Technical Faculty enjoys an exclusive status in the country's military education system:

"The Military Technical Faculty trains specialists that no other structure for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus trains. Our recruiting clients include the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus." The HR departments of the relevant agencies determine and calculate the need for specialists in each field, and recruitment targets are established in strict accordance with this data.

Speaking about the key advantages of the training, Mikhail Petrovich highlights the unprecedented level of social security provided to all students:

"Our cadets receive full state support: free tuition, comfortable accommodation, meals, and full clothing. Furthermore, they receive free medical care both at the outpatient clinic and at the Main Military Clinical Medical Center in Minsk. A very substantial stipend is a pleasant addition to this. We guarantee 100% employment upon graduation: each graduate is awarded the first military rank of lieutenant and is immediately provided with the corresponding officer position.

The practical training of future military engineers is organized at the highest level and is as close as possible to real military service conditions.

"Cadets gain practical skills both during training sessions at Belarusian training grounds and during scheduled field training sessions. They also undergo practical training directly at military units and at specialized enterprises such as OJSC 140th Repair Plant, MTZ, MZKT, MAZ, BelAZ, and others. Cadets studying for a specialty related to finance consolidate their knowledge through internships in the financial departments of civilian enterprises in Minsk," explained Mikhail Petrovich.

Advice for applicants

"The most important thing is not to worry, not to be afraid of the Armed Forces, and to confidently make the right choice in favor of studying at the Military-Technical Faculty of BNTU!"

Student Life at the Faculty

VTF cadets not only excel in military science but also set the tone for the university's social life, serving as the backbone of the BRSM and Trade Union youth projects. For example, students participate in patriotic rallies and marches, morning exercises, and are active at university discos.

Sports occupy a special place in the faculty's life, as training is held under the motto: "There is only one place in sports—first!" Thanks to this dedication, the VTF regularly wins the Sports and Mass Work Review of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and takes gold at military faculty Spartakiads.

The "BNTU Spring 2026" festival was a testament to the cadets' multifaceted talents. At the song festival, the faculty's vocal soloist captivated the audience with his composition "Two Eagles," earning the team a third-place overall honorary diploma. The cadets created a real sensation at the STEM festival. They humorously portrayed everyday army life, from ceremonial formations to everyday dorm life, completely disproving the stereotype of overly serious military engineers. The audience appreciated this self-irony, awarding the creative team the "Winner in the Eyes of the Participants" award. The faculty's musical talents also received personal recognition from the jury: cadet Yegor Yanulevich was named the best bass guitarist of the entire festival.

In addition to their stage and athletic achievements, the cadets demonstrate outstanding academic and leadership performance. This spring, a group of second-year students from the faculty took a distinguished second place in the finals of the "Best BNTU Study Group – 2026" competition.

Enrolling in the Military-Technical Faculty is not simply obtaining a high-quality higher education, but a conscious choice to serve one's country. Here, an iron character, officer's honor, and strong comradeship are forged. This professional start opens the door to the elite technical intelligentsia of the Belarusian army, where every day becomes a confident step toward a brilliant career and the protection of the country's peaceful future.
