During their university education, students acquire fundamental theory and practical skills in the field of technology and equipment for forging and stamping production, automated system design, development, implementation, and optimization of automation systems for technological processes.

Students actively participate in research activities conducted by the department, laboratories, and engineering center, focusing on the development of methods and equipment for cold and hot rolling, formation of powdered materials and granules, and waste recycling from various industries. Graduates are prepared for industrial, technological, design, and research activities within their chosen specialty.

The department has a research laboratory of the Research Institute of Materials Processing by Pressure (the head of the laboratory is V.V. Klubovich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus). As part of the state research programs from 2021 to 2025, the laboratory developed, tested and implemented new resource-saving technologies for JSC "Heavy Forging Plant", JSC "Baranovichi Machine Tool Accessories Plant", JSC "Kobrin Tool Plant "SITOMO".

The integration of scientific and educational processes in the training of highly qualified specialists involves active participation of students, postgraduates, and faculty in research and experimental design work, facilitating the implementation of results in industrial enterprises across Belarus.
