Department : Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metallurgy

The department trains engineers in the specialty

1-42 01 01 - METALLURGICAL PRODUCTION AND MATERIAL PROCESSING.

Today the specialty 1-42 01 01 - METALLURGICAL PRODUCTION AND MATERIAL PROCESSING is an acutely scarce specialty. THIS IS:

- a wide range of areas: INDUSTRIAL SAFETY, MATERIAL PROCESSING, METALLURGY (see the " Specialties " tab for more details);

- within each of the directions, recruitment is carried out for various specializations (for more details, see the "specialties" tab);

- the demand for engineering and technical personnel in various fields of activity (industry, science, ministries, etc.) and the possibility of career growth. Many of the graduates of the department work in senior positions in leading industrial enterprises, in government bodies, in the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and head private companies;

This is very important for a young specialist when he himself chooses his future, place and working conditions, his future career;

- study and use of modern applied software packages for solving technological problems in the learning process;

- the possibility of an internship abroad in the learning process as part of the exchange of students and undergraduates;

- for graduates with a penchant for scientific work, the possibility of further education in the magistracy and postgraduate studies;

- for young men, the possibility of obtaining a military specialty in parallel with training in the main specialty with the assignment of the rank of reserve officer;

- for graduates of secondary specialized institutions, training is organized in an abbreviated form with the qualification of an engineer (for more details, see the “specialties” tab).

Currently, the department "Metallurgy of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys" employs 12 teachers, of which all have a degree (2 doctors of technical sciences, 10 candidates of technical sciences). The department has 1 doctoral student, 3 graduate students, 19 undergraduates and 195 students.

The department "Metallurgy of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys" has a modern laboratory base for conducting training sessions and performing scientific research, has a high potential of scientific and pedagogical workers. In the educational process, progressive educational technologies, modern technical teaching aids are used, almost throughout the entire period of study, students master computer technologies, modern specialized software packages. For a high-quality educational process, a number of textbooks and manuals with the stamp of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus have been published.
