Department : Business Administration

The Department of Business Administration was established in 1996. The founder and first head of the department was Alexander Leonidovich Ivashutin, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor. Currently, the department is led by Elena Vasilyevna Bertosch, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor. Initially, the department offered a degree in "Economics and Management at the Enterprise." The first student group comprised 20 individuals.

For the first time in Belarus, the department’s faculty began offering a degree program in "Business Administration." It was only several years later that this program became available at other educational institutions in Belarus.

The development of the "Business Administration" program has taken various directions. The main focus has been on the specialization "Business Administration in Production and Services." The faculty consistently aligns their work with the needs of the country's real economic sector. To test and commercialize the results of research by students and staff, the department established branches at various enterprises: in 2019 at the State Institution BelISA and in 2022 at the State Enterprise "Scientific and Technological Park of BNTU 'Polytechnic'."

Throughout its existence, the department has placed great emphasis on student research, with many student projects recommended for participation in the National Research Competition. A significant achievement is that in 2023, a Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Belarus was awarded to the department's graduate student Mikhail Vecherko.

Since 2000, the department has been offering a master's program in "Economics and Management of the National Economy." This program is open to graduates of the department as well as graduates from other higher education institutions, including students from China, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Syria, Iraq, and other countries.

Since 2019, the department has been offering a master's degree in "Economics" with a specialization in "Innovative Development and Business Analytics" taught in Russian, and since 2021, it has been preparing international students (from China) for this specialization in English.

Scientific activity is an integral part of the faculty's work, with the average age of the faculty being 42 years.

The department offers undergraduate programs in

1. "Business Administration" (6-05-0412-02) and "Economics and Management" (6-05-0311-01) 
2. "Economics" (7-06-0311-01).

Since 2022, the department has implemented Joint Educational Programs (2+2) with Tashkent State Transport University and Namangan Engineering-Technological Institute for students (citizens of Uzbekistan) in "Economics and Enterprise Management" (1-25 01 07).

The curricula include both fundamental economic disciplines (microeconomics, enterprise economics, finance and financial management, accounting, etc.) and managerial disciplines (management, marketing, business administration). To meet modern business requirements, students also gain in-depth knowledge in information disciplines (information technology, business process digitalization, business information management systems, etc.). Classes are held in modern computer labs with internet access, and students also study foreign languages and the technical and technological support of business projects.

A critical component of the education provided is gaining practical skills. Industrial internships are an integral part of the learning process for Business Administration students. Practical training organized by the department ensures a high-quality combination of theoretical and practical education, providing students with the professional practical knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for future employment.

In educating specialists, the department collaborates with small and medium-sized businesses, including LLC "B1 - Consult," Production Unitary Enterprise "Coca-Cola Beverages Belarus," MTBank, LLC "Sensis Engineering," and others.
