The BNTU Employees' Trade Union Volleyball Tournament was held at the Polytechnic University.

Турнир по волейболу ППО работников БНТУ прошел в Политехе

Today, April 30, a friendly volleyball tournament was held at the Belarusian National Technical University, pitting a team from BNTU faculties against a team from the Sports and Technology Faculty. The sports festival was organized by the BNTU Employees' Trade Union and was timed to coincide with the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science Workers.

Before the start of the intense matches, Irina Vakhtina, Chair of the BNTU Employees' Trade Union, addressed the participants and fans. In her speech, she thanked the athletes for their active preparation and participation in the competition. According to the head of the trade union, such events play a key role in the life of the team, uniting people and fostering a healthy spirit of competition. This idea was echoed by Yaroslav Potachits, Dean of the Sports and Technology Faculty. He emphasized that the faculty is always happy to support such sporting initiatives and encouraged the players to be uncompromising in their competition, while maintaining the principles of fair and friendly victory.

Just before the whistle, team captain and Dean of the Faculty of Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship, Alexey Danilchenko, shared his attitude toward the game and spoke about the continuity of sporting traditions:

– We have a truly competitive team today. It includes the dean, a professor, and faculty from various university departments, so we compete as a unit. Even the media center representative is a key player on our team. I played volleyball in school and during my student years, and when I came to work at the university in 1984, competitions among staff members were already held here. You could say that my whole life has been connected to this sport in one way or another.

The athletes from the STF team were also determined. Andrey Shimansky, a lecturer in the Sports Department and a team representative, discussed the tactics and benefits of such matches:

– We've been preparing for the tournament since October, and today we'll see the results of those training sessions. It's hard to say what exactly to expect from our opponents, but we're focused on victory. Our spirits are high, albeit a little nervous. Among our colleagues, we have very fit players, so the game promises to be intriguing. Our team is primarily playing defensively today. Finding the energy for such events is essential, as it helps with our core work, provides a much-needed recharge, and promotes a healthy lifestyle.

The game itself was truly exciting and emotional. The players demonstrated ball control, lightning-fast passes, and accurate shots.

The BNTU team, coached by Alexey Danilchenko, emerged victorious. The STF team took a respectable second place, demonstrating a respectable level of play and a tremendous will to win. The sports festival concluded with an awards ceremony. Participants received well-deserved trophies, diplomas, and certificates from Irina Vakhtina.

The competition once again demonstrated that Polytechnic University employees are capable of not only professionally solving work-related problems but also achieving high results in sports, while maintaining unity and a strong corporate spirit.
