From June 29 to July 2, 2026, a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the Belarusian National Technical University on a working visit. The delegation included Sanjar Mirzaliev, Executive Director of the Joint Belarusian-Uzbek Intersectoral Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications (SBUMIPTK), and Ibrat Ismailov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at the Karshi State Technical University (KarSTU).
The main purpose of the visit was to participate in the graduation ceremony and to expand academic and scientific-technical ties between the universities of the two countries. The program of the Uzbek colleagues' stay was as full as possible and covered key areas of interuniversity cooperation. The delegation was accompanied by Elena Khodan, Director of the Belarusian-Uzbek Intersectoral Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications (SBUMIPTK).
During the visit, a series of substantive negotiations were held with the management and leading specialists of BNTU. The delegation held working meetings with Ksenia Yakushenko, Vice-Rector for Research, and Irina Ustinovich, Head of the Department of Higher Qualification Training for Research Personnel.
The focus was on integrating educational standards, developing academic mobility, and launching joint research projects.
Since the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics specializes in applied technical qualifications, the practical aspect of implementing scientific developments in production was crucial for the guests from Uzbekistan. As part of their exploration of the university's scientific and technical infrastructure, the delegation visited the Politekhnik Scientific and Technological Park.
Georgy Vershina, General Director of the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park, highlighted the main areas of work of the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park in terms of supporting innovative startups, engineering, commercialization of university developments, and creation of science-intensive production facilities.
Alexey Aldoshin, Head of the Belarusian Center for Scientific and Technical Cooperation with China at the BNTU Polytechnic Science and Technology Park, presented innovative developments in the field of medical devices, surface engineering, and the sports biomechanics laboratory. The participants were shown ready-made innovative developments, including medical devices (endoprostheses and cardiac pacemakers) created by BNTU scientists in collaboration with practicing doctors, as well as modern metalworking processes, laser technologies, and instrumentation technologies.
Representatives of the SBUMIITK and KarSTU expressed their appreciation of the existing mechanisms for commercializing student and scientific initiatives, and highlighted the positive experience of BNTU in creating an effective link between fundamental research, educational activities, and the practical sector of the economy.
In order to assess the level of training of engineering personnel in practice, the Uzbek colleagues visited the modern laboratories of the BNTU. The delegation got acquainted with the material and technical base of the Faculty of Energy Construction, the Faculty of Automotive Engineering, and the Faculty of Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship.
The guests from Uzbekistan highly appreciated the equipment of the educational and scientific laboratories, the unique equipment, and the opportunities for conducting applied research. The visit to these specialized faculties clearly demonstrated to the guests the highest potential of the BNTU in training engineers for key industries. In addition to traditional technical specialties, BNTU also successfully implements economic training programs.
The delegation was also met by Denis Konopatsky, Director of the Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining in New Areas of Technology, Technology, and Economics at BNTU.
The highlight of the four-day visit was the graduation ceremony held on July 1, where diplomas were awarded to graduates of the SBUIMPTK, as well as to specialists who successfully completed joint educational programs between KarSTU and BNTU.
The presence of foreign partners at the ceremony highlights the high status of these programs and the personal interest of the management of partner universities in the success of young professionals.
It is especially pleasing to note that Nikita Krupitsa, a graduate of the Belarusian-Uzbek Institute of Management, Information Technology and Control, received a diploma with honors, which speaks of his outstanding achievements and hard work.
In the future, there is significant potential for strengthening Belarusian-Uzbek cooperation in the fields of science and education, which will open up new opportunities for joint research, knowledge exchange, and professional development. We see a future filled with mutually beneficial initiatives and joint successes!
