On August 2, a cooperation agreement was signed between BNTU and KUKA Robotics (Russian Federation) on the basis of the Scientific and Technological Park of the Belarusian National Technical University "Polytechnic". It is based on development and production of industrial robots of various lifting capacities and operating ranges, machine production and installation of complete production systems. The company has been working on the global market for more than 13 years, and its value, according to the VLSI business communications network, is estimated at $ 3 million.

The possibility of cooperation in the framework of the exchange of educational projects in the field of industrial robotics and training of specialists on the basis of BNTU was discussed at the meeting. Dmitry Kapishnikov, CEO of KUKA Robotics, was present at the negotiations.
– We must admit that the world is moving towards the development of industrial automation. Thank God, we already have our own developments that meet international quality standards. It is clear that the industrial robotics industry is not particularly developed in the Republic of Belarus, but our company will take the first step towards you, and soon your university will have its own laboratory with our equipment (the first in the country), because personnel training is the most important thing in any field, - Dmitry noted.

KUKA Robotics creates educational platforms in the leading universities of the CIS and the world. For the Belarusian partnership the company chose BNTU.The training of specialists in the field of production automation will be introduced into the educational process of the machine-building, mechanical and technological faculties and the Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics.
By tradition, the guests got acquainted with the scientific and technological potential of the BNTU "Polytechnic" technopark, and the deans of these faculties made a presentation of their activities to find options for effective cooperation.

In the near future, the Russian side promised to deliver the first models of industrial robots to the base of the Belarusian National Technical University for test use and familiarization with the know-how of the KUKA Robotics organization.
