Deputy Dean of PSF – Honored Guest at the "For the Honor of the Gymnasium!" Ceremony

Заместитель декана ПСФ – почетный гость церемонии «За честь гимназии!»

On May 16, 2026, the solemn awards ceremony for winners of intellectual and creative competitions "For the Honor of the Gymnasium!" was held at the educational institution "Gymnasium No. 61 in Minsk". The event was attended by Sergey G. Monich, Deputy Dean of the Instrumentation Engineering Faculty (PSF) of the Belarusian National Technical University.

The visit of the representative of the country's leading technical university went far beyond a protocol event. Sergey G. Monich acted as an honored guest of the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of continuity between secondary and higher education in training future engineering personnel. In his speech, he congratulated the gymnasium students on their well-deserved awards, noting the high level of training of the school's students.

During the visit, a substantive working meeting took place between the Deputy Dean and the gymnasium principal, Irina V. Levkovets, as well as the teaching staff. The key topic of the dialogue was further deepening cooperation in preparing students of specialized engineering-oriented classes. The parties discussed new forms of interaction, including organizing excursions to university departments and joint career guidance projects.

Sergey G. Monich paid special attention to encouraging the most talented students. He presented the best gymnasium students with branded BNTU products – commemorative souvenirs featuring the university's symbols, which will serve as a symbol of their current achievements and an incentive to enroll at BNTU.

The culmination of the visit was an individual career guidance conversation with Roman Avdeev, an 11th-grade student from a specialized engineering class. This young man deserves special attention: Roman is the absolute winner of the prestigious 15th Republican Competition of Scientific and Technical Creativity of Students, "TekhnoIntellect". Sergey G. Monich asked Roman in detail about his project, achievements, and future plans, told him about promising PSF majors, opportunities for research work for students, and the advantages of studying at BNTU.

The outcome of the event was an agreement on further cooperation between the university and the gymnasium, as well as the participation of gymnasium students in university competitions and olympiads. The partnership between BNTU and Gymnasium No. 61 is entering a new level, aimed at nurturing the elite of Belarusian engineering education. For its part, the gymnasium has published information about this event on its website.
