On Tuesday, September 15, a casting for the “BNTU Student of the Year – 2026” competition was held in the co‑working space of the “Politekhnik” scientific and technological park. The selection stage brought together the most active and proactive students.
This year, candidates for the title of the best student must meet two key requirements: have a GPA of at least 7.5 over the last two semesters and be an active participant in the university’s creative and social activities.
Directly at the casting, the right to evaluate the students was granted to a competent jury, which included Natalia Penyaz, head of the Department of Culture Affairs; Ekaterina Aronova, deputy secretary of the BRSM public organization with the rights of the BNTU RK; Ksenia Polovinko, deputy head of the BNTU Media Center; and Elizaveta Kalachik, methodologist at the Center for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs.
In total, 29 students demonstrated their talents to the jury. During the casting, the participants presented their achievements in the scientific, creative, sports, and public spheres, demonstrating a high level of preparation and a desire to make a personal contribution to the development of university life.
The performances of the students who managed to showcase their talents in an unconventional way were particularly memorable. For example, Kirill Agievich, a third‑year student at the Faculty of Mining and Engineering Ecology, decided to surprise the jury by demonstrating his skills in juggling with weights and graceful dance movements.
The performance of Kristina Dalidovich, a third‑year student at the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarianization, evoked strong emotions. She presented a performance that included elements of oratory and an expressive reading of a poem by Vladimir Mayakovsky.
“After the casting, I still can’t gather my thoughts — I’m overwhelmed with emotions. I was a bit nervous; I felt like I was in limbo, as if you’re standing at the edge of the stage and you don’t know what’s going to happen next. But I’m glad I took the plunge,” Kristina shared.
Second‑year student Polina Eroshevich from the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy noted that participating in the casting call gave her the opportunity to try her hand at a new creative field. The girl strives to actively participate in the university’s student life and confidently puts forward her initiatives.
