Today, September 25, the BNTU *Polytekhnik* health center (sanatorium-preventorium) was ceremonially awarded its state accreditation certificate. Valery Nafranovich, Head of the Minsk City Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment, presented the important document to the center's director, Nina Kusmerskaya-Myalik. Also present at the meeting were BNTU Rector Sergei Kharitonchik, Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work Timur Matyushinets, and the center's staff.
It is well known that the health center underwent extensive renovations this summer. The buildings were refurbished, and medical offices were equipped with modern technology. It is precisely this painstaking work that has now received the highest level of state recognition.
According to the document, *Polytekhnik* has officially confirmed its status as a sanatorium-resort facility for adults. The state accreditation process was conducted in strict accordance with the criteria and parameters set forth in Resolution No. 248 of the Council of Ministers, dated May 15, 2026.
This successful outcome signifies that the sanatorium's infrastructure and medical facilities fully meet high state standards. Thanks to its excellent facilities, the center is authorized to provide treatment across five medical specialties. This list includes conditions affecting the respiratory system, digestive system, musculoskeletal system and connective tissue, nervous system, and circulatory system.
The presentation of this significant document served as an excellent opportunity to evaluate the results of the work accomplished and to highlight the unique nature of the facility itself. Valery Nafranovich highlighted the fact that "Politekhnik" remains the country's only student health center and continues to actively develop new medical services.
"People come to the health center primarily for natural wellness treatments, so the new hydrotherapy rooms and mud bath facilities you’ve installed on the lower level represent a huge step forward. I want to thank the 'Politekhnik' staff and the BNTU Rector personally. Without Sergei Vasilyevich’s involvement and support, realizing this vision would have been simply impossible," the guest noted.
The theme of mutual support continued in the remarks made by the center's director. Nina Kusmerskaya-Myalik sincerely thanked the BNTU leadership for their belief in the project and their financial assistance. She noted that for the entire staff, this day symbolized the excellent results achieved through collective effort:
"The results of the modernization speak for themselves; the medical facilities are now vastly more modern. It is a pleasure to see students happily arriving for their stays and guests trying out the weekend packages. The center certainly has a bright future, and our team is fully committed to fulfilling our primary mission of promoting health and well-being."
Developing the medical center requires significant resources, yet the university leadership views the facility as a direct investment in the health of both students and staff. Sergei Kharitonchik congratulated the team on their successful accreditation and immediately outlined the direction for future work:
"We invest a great deal of effort in our students, as they are our future. The university has already accomplished a tremendous amount of work, but we certainly won't stop there. Next year, we plan to install private bathrooms in every single room and refurbish the floors." I am confident that, through our joint efforts, we will do everything necessary to ensure that BNTU students and staff enjoy maximum comfort during their stay here.
The formal proceedings gradually gave way to a discussion of operational matters and new ideas. The health resort has many upcoming sessions and ambitious modernization plans ahead; yet, its core mission remains unchanged: to provide the best possible conditions for Polytechnic students and staff to relax, recharge, and look forward to returning for future stays.
