Sports engineering and modern technologies: students of gymnasium № 2 of Soligorsk visited STF

Спортивная инженерия и современные технологии: учащиеся гимназии № 2 Солигорска посетили СТФ

On April 23rd, the BNTU Sports and Technical Faculty hosted a lesson for 11th grade students of the State Educational Institution Gymnasium No. 2 in Soligorsk. The meeting was held as part of the elective course "In the world of engineering and technology: choosing an engineering profession". The lesson was conducted by senior lecturer of the Department of Sports Engineering, Peter Mikhailovich Samokhval. The main topic is "Introduction to computer motion analysis software". The students were told about biomechanics as a scientific discipline that studies the mechanical aspects of human movements. Special attention was paid to the methods of assessment and registration of articular angles, as well as the capabilities of specialized software. The students learned how videos can be used to perform accurate computer analysis of movements, measure kinematic parameters, and evaluate exercise techniques. The teacher also spoke about the specifics of studying at the STF and the combination of technical and sports disciplines in the educational process. The students actively asked questions about admission, the content of the educational program and the practical application of the acquired knowledge. Such meetings allow high school students to get to know more about modern engineering areas, where technology helps to analyze and improve sports movements, increase the effectiveness of training and reduce the risk of injury. STF regularly conducts similar career guidance classes for schoolchildren.
