The Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanization is actively working to promote the Chinese language at the technical university. On June 13, students from groups 10607125 and 10808124, under the guidance of teacher Anna Fyodorovna Filimonova, attended the annual event “Tea for World Harmony 2026,” dedicated to International Tea Day, held at Freedom Square in Minsk. Using tea as a means of strengthening friendship and cooperation among peoples, promoting cultural exchanges and mutual learning, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus, and the Minsk City Executive Committee jointly organized the event.
The event brought together young people from various educational institutions in Belarus, diplomats, representatives of cultural organizations, and fans of Eastern culture. A rich program was prepared for the participants: a concert program, workshops from Confucius Institutes, and demonstrations of classic Chinese tea ceremonies from different provinces.
Students of BNTU not only watched the process of the traditional tea ceremony but also personally tried brewing tea under the guidance of experienced Chinese masters, got acquainted with the features of tea utensils, tasted different varieties of Chinese tea with explanations of their flavor nuances and health benefits. During the interactive part, participants exchanged opinions on the cultural traditions of the two countries, asked questions about the development of the modern Chinese tea industry, and the prospects for cultural exchange between Belarus and the PRC.
The event organizers emphasized that the project "Tea – Harmony of the World 2026" is aimed at promoting China's intangible cultural heritage abroad, supporting youth exchanges, and expanding humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. The participation of BNTU students became another step in the development of the long-standing fruitful partnership of the university with Chinese higher education institutions and cultural organizations.
After the visit, the students expressed their desire to regularly take part in such international cultural projects to continue learning about Chinese culture and contribute to the further strengthening of Belarusian-Chinese friendship.
