Yesterday, September 22, in the Novoselsky forestry of the State Forestry Institution "Minsk Forestry" students of the Belarusian National Technical University took part in the Republican environmental event on garbage collection "We Care". The students were accompanied by the head of the department of organizational and methodological support of educational work of the Center for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs (TsIRiDM) of BNTU Yulia Myshko and the methodologist of TsIiDM Inessa Tokovenko.
For reference: the environmental event started on September 21 and will last until September 28. The main goal of the event is to attract the attention of young people to the current environmental situation in cities and regions of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the formation of an environmental culture of the younger generation. The organizer of the event is the educational institution “National Center for Additional Education of Children and Youth”.
Armed with gloves and garbage bags, BNTU volunteers actively got involved in the work. Particular attention was paid to roadside areas and places of public recreation. The work proceeded amicably and harmoniously: in a few hours, joint efforts managed to clear more than 2 hectares of forest. The children enthusiastically completed the task, realizing that their work would help preserve the nature of their native land. After spending time in the forest, the children not only helped nature, but also gained a good mood and useful experience.
Aleksey Shinkevich, a first-year student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, shared his emotions from the trip.
— The event left extremely positive emotions: I was pleased with the excellent organization and sincere involvement of the participants. I decided to join because I think taking care of the environment is an important task for each of us. I always liked to participate in such events. I definitely advise young people to take part in them. This is not only a real help to nature, but also a great opportunity to be in the fresh air, see the nature of our region, acquire useful skills, communicate with like-minded people and become part of one big good deed.
The event that took place in the Novoselsky forestry became not just an item on the calendar of environmental events, but a real cause that united students from different faculties.
