On April 25, 2026, the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University held a career guidance event for students from Luninets Secondary School No. 3, who arrived for a tour with a teacher. The meeting was organized and facilitated by the Technological Equipment Department, consisting of Olga Konstantinovna Yatskevich, Yulia Igorevna Kasach, and Veronika Sergeevna Danilovich.

During the first part of the tour, the department staff provided the students with a detailed introduction to the specialty offered at the faculty, as well as the two specializations it offers. The first specialization, "Engineering of Technological Equipment," is designed to train specialists capable of managing the entire equipment lifecycle: from design and modernization to operation, maintenance, and diagnostics at industrial facilities. The second specialization, "Computer-Aided Design of Tool Systems," focuses on mastering digital methods for developing cutting, measuring, and auxiliary tools, including solid modeling, engineering calculations, and the creation of design documentation in modern CAD systems. Particular attention was paid to 3D modeling as a key tool for the modern mechanical engineer, which underlies both educational tracks.

Next, the students were given a comprehensive tour of the competency center, which includes relevant laboratories. The students were shown the center's facilities, which include both traditional metal-cutting machines and modern CNC machines. Additionally, the students learned about the process of writing control programs for CNC equipment, allowing them to gain a basic understanding of the full production preparation cycle—from code development to part machining.

During the interactive portion of the event, guests were given the opportunity to work with virtual reality technology: using VR equipment, children were able to disassemble one of the technical components. The students were also shown educational stands, mock-ups, a workbench with feed drives, and a 3D printer. During a demonstration of the printer, gears were produced, which were then given to the students as souvenirs of their visit to the university.

The event allowed students from Luninets Secondary School No. 3 to gain a comprehensive understanding of the facilities and equipment of the BNTU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, modern approaches to training engineers in two specializations, and real-world production challenges. The career guidance tour helped foster a conscious interest in technical specialties and the subsequent choice of a career in mechanical engineering.
