On April 14–15, a working visit of a delegation from the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) took place in Tashkent. The visit included the Joint Belarusian-Uzbek Intersectoral Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications, Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov (TSTU), and Tashkent State Transport University (TSTrU). This meeting marked an important stage in strengthening scientific and educational cooperation between our countries.
The delegation included Elena Petrovna Khodan, Director of the Institute from the Belarusian side; Nikolai Vasilievich Vishnyakov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at BNTU and Dean of the Joint Faculty of BNTU–TSTrU; and Nina Ivanovna Kusmerskaya-Malik, Director of the BNTU "Politechnik" Sanatorium-Preventorium. They participated in an expanded meeting of the Institute's Council, which discussed strategic directions for developing the joint educational platform in the coming years. Particular attention was paid to improving the quality of the educational process and implementing innovative educational technologies.
During the visit, the Belarusian delegation familiarized itself with the organization of the educational process and the current state of the Institute's material and technical infrastructure. Special focus was placed on the construction of an innovative technopark, reconstruction of buildings, and modern equipment for educational laboratories.
One of the highlights of the visit was the startup project competition held as part of the "Engineers of the Future" festival. This event brought together students ready to propose modern engineering solutions and promote innovative ideas. All participants demonstrated creativity and determination, showcasing the readiness of the new generation of engineers to meet contemporary challenges.
In her welcoming address, Elena Petrovna Khodan emphasized the importance of supporting proactive youth and fostering an innovative environment, which remains a priority for the Joint Belarusian-Uzbek Intersectoral Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications. The delegation also noted the high motivation of students to participate in scientific and educational projects.
The BNTU delegation's visit represented a significant step in strengthening international cooperation and exchanging advanced educational and scientific practices. During the visit, a meeting was also organized with the Rector of Tashkent State Technical University, Academician Sadritdin Makhamatdinovich Turabdzhanov. They discussed promising areas for future collaboration and current challenges facing the Institute.
The Tashkent leg of the visit continued with a meeting with the leadership and representatives of the Faculty of International Educational Programs at Tashkent State Transport University (TSTrU). In particular, prospects for cooperation with this Faculty were discussed. Emphasis was placed on the importance of developing highly specialized fields relevant to the transport sector and the possibilities of implementing them through joint educational programs. Collaboration with Tashkent State Transport University, including at the level of the Faculty of International Educational Programs, has become not only an opportunity for experience exchange but also a concrete step toward implementing joint projects aimed at training highly qualified specialists in transport and logistics. Modern conditions require narrow specialization and integration of educational processes—goals that this partnership is designed to achieve.
The visit program included an important meeting with a group of students enrolled in joint educational programs. This event enabled direct dialogue: students shared their impressions of their studies, expectations for their future careers, and suggestions for improving educational programs. BNTU representatives, in turn, discussed with future specialists opportunities for internships, further education, and employment, and answered questions of interest to the younger generation.
A separate focus of the delegation's work was a career guidance meeting with students from Secondary School No. 27 in Tashkent. BNTU representatives conducted an interactive session during which they informed schoolchildren about modern engineering professions, opportunities for studying under joint Belarusian-Uzbek programs, and prospects for future employment. The students showed keen interest in technical specialties and asked questions about admission requirements, student life, and support measures for talented applicants. This meeting laid the foundation for systematic interaction between the university and schools in Uzbekistan and contributes to early professional orientation for youth interested in engineering and technical development.
Thus, the BNTU delegation's visit to Tashkent served not only as an opportunity for experience exchange but also as a step toward joint projects aimed at developing educational and scientific infrastructure. Collaborative efforts in this area will contribute to training highly qualified specialists ready to address modern professional challenges.
