Every year, more and more international students arrive at BNTU — from different countries, with different traditions and stories. They choose Belarus to get a quality education, make new friends, and build their future. We decided to get to know them better and find out what brought them to our university. The first hero of our series is Suleiman Dagshynov from Turkmenistan — an open‑minded, goal‑oriented student who is already almost a local resident. Despite the fact that Belarus is a new country for him, the guy feels at home here. We met with Suleiman to find out how his adaptation is going, why he chose «Business Administration», and what plans he has for the future.
– Suleiman, they say you didn’t face any language barrier. Is that really true?
– Absolutely. I’ve known Russian since childhood, because I studied at a Russian school until the third grade, and I’ve always liked the Russian language itself, so I didn’t do any special preparation in terms of the language. Now I feel absolutely confident and free in communication. Before moving, I just searched the internet for information about Minsk, looked at photos of BNTU, and read about the culture and life in Belarus so I would know what to expect.
– What were your first impressions of moving here?
– I liked Minsk right away. The city is big and clean, and you immediately feel at ease here. And BNTU surprised me in particular: I didn’t think the university would be so huge. There are so many buildings here! What surprised me the most was that the people around are very friendly — they’ll always help if you’re looking for something!
– Tell me why you decided to tie your life to Belarus?
– I chose Belarus because it’s a very beautiful and clean country with ideal conditions for students. I really like it here, and after my studies, I firmly plan to stay and live here, and develop professionally!
– And what specialty became your foundation?
– I chose the «Business Administration» major because a modern manager should be knowledgeable not only in economics but also in technology. I learned that BNTU is a leading university that trains managers of the new generation, capable of leading projects, launching startups, and effectively managing business processes. And I believe that a diploma from BNTU in this field will allow me to easily find a job and build a successful career as a manager.
– Besides studying, how do you spend your time? What are you interested in besides business plans?
– I’m a kind and positive person. I’m always happy to help anyone who needs it. I love being in the spotlight and happily take part in creative activities. By nature, I’m a romantic; I know how to appreciate the beauty around me and I love taking care of my loved ones. I’m interested in the cultures of different countries around the world and I love learning new things. I'm a very open person. I love music, songs, and dancing!
Meeting Suleiman once again confirmed that BNTU is a true home for students from all over the world. The sincerity, determination, and zest for life of our new hero are a great example of how important it is to follow your dream. We wish Suleiman a vibrant student life, creative victories, and a successful start in his career as a leader!
