On Monday, August 24, a new group of students from the Republic of Uzbekistan, studying under joint educational programs, arrived in Minsk. The students successfully completed the first stage of their studies at home and are now continuing to receive a prestigious engineering education at the Belarusian National Technical University.
The two‑stage training system implemented by BNTU allows students to acquire a solid fundamental foundation in their regions and then smoothly continue their studies at the leading technical university in Belarus. For the incoming students, this is not just a move to another country, but a long‑awaited and natural step towards obtaining an internationally recognised diploma.
To ensure that adaptation to the new city and university is as comfortable and quick as possible, Elena Khodan, Director of the Belarusian‑Uzbek Intersectoral Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications, conducted an extensive introductory tour of the BNTU campus for the students. The students visited modern academic buildings, specialized laboratories, a scientific and technical library, and student dormitories. She provided a detailed account of the specifics of the educational process in Minsk, as well as the rich extracurricular and sports life at BNTU.
At BNTU, special attention is paid not only to academic achievements but also to the cultural adaptation of international students, the preservation of their traditions, and the creation of an atmosphere of home‑like comfort.
As part of the introductory tour, the students visited the Center for Uzbek Culture in Minsk. This visit became an important and touching part of their acquaintance with the Belarusian capital. He allowed young people to feel a part of their native culture and to be convinced that in Belarus their traditions are respected, valued, and supported.
“It is fundamentally important for us that students from Uzbekistan feel at home at BNTU. We not only provide them with advanced engineering knowledge but also create all the conditions for a smooth adaptation, helping them overcome the language and cultural barrier while preserving their national identity,” said Elena Khodan.
