BNTU has signed memorandums of understanding with universities in Myanmar.

БНТУ подписал меморандумы о взаимопонимании с университетами Мьянмы

Today, on August 20, the Belarusian‑Myanmar Business Forum was held in Minsk, during which a number of cooperation documents were signed. Among the signed agreements are documents on cooperation involving the Belarusian National Technical University. The Belarusian National Technical University was represented at the event by its rector, Sergei Kharitonchik.

The forum program included a plenary session, where Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin and President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing spoke. A business session was also held, moderated by Elena Malinovskaya, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Myanmar, Ey Wina, delivered an opening speech.

After that, there was a presentation of Belarusian and Myanmar enterprises, where representatives of Belarusian and Myanmar government agencies, enterprises and business associations presented their reports. The reports were devoted to the investment and trade opportunities of the two countries, as well as possible cooperation in mechanical engineering, healthcare and aviation.

The key stage of the forum was the signing ceremony of commercial documents and agreements. During the ceremony, two memorandums of understanding were signed between BNTU and the leading technical universities in Myanmar: Yangon Technological University and Mandalay Technological University.

— First and foremost, these are the areas that were mentioned at this forum today. These include mechanical engineering, discussions on student training in the field of optical technologies, and other areas, including information technology and other fields. “I think that today we will build on the signed documents, on the memorandum, and move on to concrete agreements, to the implementation of specific joint programs, so that we can move to the practical side of the movement,” Sergey Kharitonchik shared.

The final stage of the Belarusian‑Myanmar business forum was B2B negotiations between representatives of Belarusian and Myanmar companies.

Thus, BNTU expanded the geography of its international cooperation. The signed memorandums will create the conditions for academic exchanges and joint research projects.
