As part of the celebrations marking the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian National Technical University, the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics passed the “flame relay baton” to the company CJSC “Budtekhmil” on 18 November.
CJSC “Budtekhmil” is a Belarusian machine-building enterprise that has historically specialised in producing equipment for the construction industry. The company was established back in the 1980s as a manufacturer of tooling for reinforced-concrete products and steel structures. CJSC “Budtekhmil” has travelled the path from a Soviet manufacturer of construction equipment to a modern machine-building company, and cooperation with BNTU’s Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics has become an important factor in its technological renewal and human-resources development. The Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics of BNTU cooperates with CJSC “Budtekhmil” in staff training, the implementation of digital technologies and the development of innovative solutions for the automation of production processes.

The ceremonial act of passing the cooperation “flame relay” symbolises the continuity of generations, the strengthening of ties between science and industry, and the training of personnel for Belarus’s high-tech sectors.
The event was attended by Bazhena Aleksandra Badak, Deputy Dean; Yevgeny Mikhailovich Robilko, Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work; Yury Vladimirovich Polozkov, Head of the Department “Software of Information Systems and Technologies”; Alexei Valentinovich Borodulya, Head of the Department “Robotic Systems”; and Vladimir Petrovich Zayarny, Head of the Laboratory of the “Robotic Systems” Department.
For students of the degree programmes “Automation of Technological Processes and Production”, “Robotic Systems”, “Information Systems and Technologies” and “Software Engineering”, a tour was organised of the modern production workshops and design offices of CJSC “Budtekhmil”. Future engineers and IT specialists were able to see firsthand how a high-tech enterprise operates and to learn about the real challenges facing industry today.

The culmination of the visit was the signing of an interdepartmental cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics of BNTU and CJSC “Budtekhmil”. This document opens up new horizons for joint work: organising industrial and technological internships for students, conducting joint research projects, involving the company’s leading specialists in teaching, and much more.
This visit and the agreement signed are not just a formality, but a strategic step in training competitive specialists. Our students will gain access to cutting-edge equipment and real production tasks, while the company will have the opportunity to nurture highly qualified personnel for itself right from the student bench,” noted FITR Deputy Dean Bazhena Badak.
Passing the relay to CJSC “Budtekhmil” marks an important stage in the series of BNTU anniversary events and strengthens the university’s status as a flagship of engineering education in Belarus.
