Department : Technological equipment

The department "Metal-cutting machines and tools" was created as part of the mechanical faculty of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute. At the origins of its creation were the graduates of the Moscow Higher Technical School Professor G.M. Golovin sent from Moscow. and Professor Shevchenko N.A. They headed the departments "Machines" and "Theory of cutting and cutting tools". The first graduation of mechanical engineers took place in 1938. In 1939 - 1941. the united department "Machine tools, tools and cutting" was headed by Professor Pankin A.V. Since 1945 until 1946, the head of the department "Machine tools" was associate professor Pikus M.Yu., and in 1946 -1947. - Professor Pankin A.V. Head of the department "Metal cutting and tools" in 1946-1947. became associate professor Klebanov N.K. The newly united department "Machine tools and metal cutting" was headed by Professor M.E. Matsepuro. (1947 - 1948) and associate professor Goransky G.K. (1948-1956). Since 1956 the department was called "Machine tools and metal cutting", which was headed by associate professor Pikus M.Yu. (until 1957). In 1957 the department was named "Metal-cutting machines and tools". It was headed by: Professor Feldstein E.I. (1957 - 1963), Professor Yascheritsyn P.I. (1963 - 1984). From 1984 to 2003, the department was headed by Professor Kochergin A.I., from 2003 to 2013, Associate Professor Turomsha V.I. WithFrom 2014  to 2021, the   department was headed by Associate Professor Dovnar S.S. In 2018, the  department was named "Technological Equipment".

The department "Technological equipment" trains engineers in the field of metalworking, machine tool building and cutting tools.
