In memory of Anatoly Ivanovich Kochergin

In August 2018, the collective of the Belarusian National Technical University suffered an irreplaceable loss with the passing of Professor Anatoly Ivanovich Kochergin—a Professional, Educator, and exemplary Human Being.

In August 2018, the community of the Belarusian National Technical University suffered an irreparable loss with the passing of Professor Anatoly Ivanovich Kochergin—a Professional, Educator, and extraordinary Human Being.

Anatoly Ivanovich was born on January 26, 1937, in Zhlobin, Gomel Region, into a family of agronomists. His childhood coincided with wartime, and at the age of six, he, along with his mother and brother, became prisoners in the death camp "Ozarichi."

In 1955, Anatoly Ivanovich Kochergin entered the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute, graduating with honors in 1960 with a degree in "Machine Tool Technology, Metal Cutting Machines, and Tools." That same year, he joined as an assistant at the Department of "Machine Tools and Metal Processing by Cutting." Continuing without interruption, he completed his studies at the Belarusian State University in Mathematics. Throughout his career, Anatoly Ivanovich dedicated himself to science and education—from assistant to professor and head of the department, which he successfully led for 20 years.

Anatoly Ivanovich Kochergin's research focused on creating highly efficient processes for material processing through cutting. He published over 200 scholarly works, including scientific articles, patents, inventions, textbooks, and teaching materials. One of his inventions formed the basis for a highly efficient waste-free technology for manufacturing heat exchangers. Generations of students from various countries have studied and will continue to study from his textbooks.

Anatoly Ivanovich actively participated in educational governance bodies, serving as deputy chairman of the educational and methodological association of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus in mechanical engineering and instrumentation, chairman of the bureau of the republican methodological association of teachers of engineering disciplines in secondary specialized educational institutions, and head of the educational and methodological department of the Belarusian National Technical University. He contributed to the development of state educational standards for specialties, new-generation curricula, and programs for a range of specialized disciplines.

For his achievements in training specialists for the national economy and advancing science and technology, Anatoly Ivanovich was awarded the Certificate of the Supreme Soviet of the BSSR, Certificates of the Ministries of Education and Industry, the badge "For Excellent Achievements in Higher Education" in the USSR, the badge "Excellence in Education of the Republic of Belarus," and in 2000, he was awarded the honorary title "Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Belarus."

In our memories, he will remain a knowledgeable leader, a talented scientist and educator, and a remarkable individual.

The bright memory of Anatoly Ivanovich will be cherished in the hearts of his colleagues and the knowledge of grateful students around the world.

In memory of Alexander Georgievich Vasilenko

In March 2021 , the staff of the department "Technological equipment" and the research laboratory "Mechanics of materials and dynamics of technical systems" suffered an irreparable loss - the candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Alexander Georgievich Vasilenko passed away  .

Alexander Georgievich devoted most of his life to his native university BPI-BGPA-BNTU, which he graduated with honors in 1983 with a degree in mechanical engineering, metal-cutting machines and tools. He continued his education in graduate school, after which he prepared and defended his thesis. Since 1986, Alexander Georgievich was the secretary of the Komsomol committee of teachers and employees of the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute. For success in scientific work in 1988, Alexander Georgievich was awarded the Lenin Komsomol Prize of Belarus in the field of science and technology.

In 1988 he came to the department of "Metal-cutting machines and tools" (since 2018 "Technological equipment"), where he worked all this for a long time, starting with an assistant, senior lecturer and ending with an associate professor.

Possessing a broad outlook, pedagogical talent, charisma, Alexander Georgievich enjoyed great respect and authority among students. Actively engaged in scientific work with students and undergraduates. He made an invaluable contribution to the training of highly qualified engineering personnel for the machine-building industry of our country.

In our memory, he will remain an active public figure, a talented scientist and teacher, a wonderful person.

The bright memory of Alexander Georgievich will be kept in the hearts of his colleagues and students.

A BIG CONTRIBUTION TO THE WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT MADE

Dechko Eduard Mikhailovich
Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor
Academician of the International Academy of Sciences of Eurasia,
St. Petersburg Engineering Academy,
Excellence in Education of the USSR and the Republic of Belarus

Area of scientific interests:

  • Specialist in the field of mechanical processing of materials, cutting tools and mechanical engineering technology
  • Technology and design of drills for obtaining deep holes in special steel parts and non-ferrous metal parts

Awards and incentives:
Awarded with medals "For Valiant Labor", "Veteran of Labour", a bronze medal of VDNKh of the USSR, a badge of the Ministry of Higher Education of the USSR "For excellent success in work, diplomas and diplomas of the Ministry of Higher Education of the USSR and the BSSR, BSPA, a badge of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus" Vydatnik academies".

Contribution made:

Designed by Dechko E.M. and the technology introduced at the enterprises and the corresponding designs of auger drills for obtaining deep holes in special steel parts and non-ferrous metal parts made it possible to increase productivity by 2-3 times while maintaining high hole accuracy.

One of the most important advantages of auger drills used in deep drilling of steels is the intensive chip breaking in the cutting zone. Small chips are easily removed from the cutting zone, which eliminates the need to withdraw the auger drill during operation. To intensify the process of deep drilling, it is necessary to take into account the factors that affect the stability of the chip breaking process when drilling with such drills. With deep drilling in the AIDS system, the least rigid link, the drill, experiences torsional, bending, longitudinal and radial vibrations. When developing the principles of intensifying the process of deep hole drilling, it is possible to use the design features of auger drills and the cutting process, including a combination of the following factors: the occurrence of self-adjusting low-frequency oscillatory movements of the cutting edges along a helix due to the low torsional rigidity of the transporting part; stable chip breaking due to special sharpening of the cutting part in combination with oscillations with a frequency of up to 300 Hz; removal of chips from the cutting zone along chip grooves with an angle = 60°.

E.M. Dechko made a great contribution to the training of engineering personnel - he lectured, supervised diploma and course design.

EM. Dechko showed himself as a specialist in the environment of organizing a system of advanced training. Since 1970 to 1990 he was the rector of the Republican intersectoral institute for advanced training of executives and specialists in the sectors of the national economy.

Author of more than 100 scientific papers, including three monographs, five textbooks and manuals, six inventions. Prepared three candidates of technical sciences.
