A significant contribution to the training of engineering personnel for construction and road works in the republic is made by the Department of Mechanization and Automation of the Road-Building Complex of BNTU.
The Belarusian School of Construction, Road and Land Reclamation Engineering was mainly formed in the post-war period, in 1952, when the Department of Mechanization of Hydraulic Works was opened at the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute (BPI), the current BNTU. In 1958, it was renamed into the Department of Construction and Road Machinery in order to train mechanical engineers for the construction complex of the Republic of Belarus. In accordance with the order dated December 07, 2018 No. 2176, the Department of Construction and Road Machinery of the Faculty of Transport Communications was renamed from December 15, 2018 to the Department"Mechanization and automation of the road construction complex ".

On the basis of OJSC "AMKODOR-management company of the holding" and OJSC "Bellift" branches of the department " Mechanization and automation of the road-building complex " were created.
