Anton Vladimirovich Vavilov is a renowned scholar in the fields of technological engineering, energy efficiency, and industrial and environmental safety. He leads a scientific school focused on developing the scientific foundations for creating resource-saving technological machines and specific machines for prospective construction technologies.

Since 1982, Vavilov's academic and research activities have been closely linked to the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute (later the Belarusian State Polytechnic Academy - BGP and BNTU). He became an assistant professor at the "Construction and Road Machines" department at BNTU in 1983 and has been the head of this department since 1988, also serving as the pro-rector of BGP from 1996 to 2000.

His research is centered on developing the foundations for creating competitive energy and resource-saving road construction machinery and forecasting its development. He has established and refined methodological foundations for designing multifunctional specialized machines and a systemic approach to forming their complexes. His work includes methods for selecting effective mechanization options for prospective construction technologies in Belarus and requirements for machine complexes that ensure a global standard in implementing technological processes.

Vavilov has laid the technological groundwork for a new generation of machines capable of performing labor-intensive preparatory work in construction, promoting the preservation and rational use of natural resources. He was one of the first in Belarus to propose effective fuel supply methods for biomass energy installations, including obtaining fuel from unconventional energy resources. His research results have been published in monographs, textbooks, and study guides totaling over 100 printed sheets.

His active academic, educational, and industrial activities involve collaboration with numerous organizations and associations in Belarus and the CIS.

In 1996, Vavilov was elected an academician of the Belarusian Mining Academy and, in 1997, an academician of the Belarusian Engineering Academy. Between 1996 and 2000, he was a member of the board of the Association of Construction Higher Educational Institutions of the CIS, chairman of the Council of Educational and Methodological Associations of Belarusian universities in the field of transport, and a member of the International Advisory Scientific and Technical Council (Moscow Government - Minsk City Executive Committee). He actively participates in educational and methodological commissions in Russia and Ukraine regarding "Lifting, Transport, Construction, and Road Machines and Equipment."

In 1999, he was elected a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences and an academician of the Transport Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Since 2001, Vavilov has served as president of the Belarusian Public Scientific Association of Technological Machine Creators and, since 2003, as its general director. He was the chairman of the Council for defending doctoral dissertations and an expert of the Higher Attestation Commission of Belarus (VAC).

His academic and educational activities have received international recognition: in 2003, the American Biographical Institute awarded him the title of "Man of the Year," and in 2004-2006, the International Biographical Centre in Cambridge recognized him as an outstanding teacher of the year and an intellectual of the 21st century.
