Yesterday, June 29, a public lecture by Professor Zen Meng Yuan of Tongji University (Shanghai, China) was held at BNTU for students and faculty of the Faculty of Technical Cooperation. A delegation from the Chinese university will be visiting the university from June 27 to July 2. Lectures will also be held on June 30 and July 1.
For reference: Tongji University, founded in 1907 in Shanghai, is one of China's leading universities. It ranks 18th nationally, 10th among BRICS universities, and is also part of the elite group of universities supported by the Project 211 and Project 985 state programs. Tongji University ranks 177th in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and 141st in The World University Rankings 2026.
The visit of foreign colleagues is a continuation of the cooperation that has been actively developing in recent months. In December 2025, Professor Zen Meng Yuan lectured at BNTU, and a few months later, the two sides reached a new stage: in April 2026, a delegation from BNTU's Faculty of Technical Communications completed an internship at Tongji University, where a memorandum of cooperation for 2026–2031 was signed. The document provides for student and faculty exchanges, joint schools, and participation in grant programs.
During the lecture, the professor discussed advanced technologies in transport construction, digital modeling, and infrastructure diagnostics using artificial intelligence. In the coming days, the guests will also be introduced to the university's research infrastructure and discuss future joint projects.
The Shanghai delegation's visit continues, and cooperation between universities reaches a new level.
