Preventive meeting with foreign students at dormitory No. 16
On 15.07, a preventive meeting was held at the BNTU dormitory No. 16 for foreign students with the staff of the ICF, the chairman and deputy chairman of the student council ICF.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to first-year students who have just moved into the dormitory and are taking their first steps in student life. The students were explained in detail the rules of the internal regulations: the importance of maintaining cleanliness and order in rooms and common areas, strict prohibition of smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages, as well as the key principles of respect for neighbors and employees of the administration.
As part of the meeting, students were shown a colorful presentation reflecting the university's rich extracurricular life. Students learned about sports clubs, creative groups, volunteer projects, and cultural events that would not only provide an interesting way to spend their leisure time, but also help them make new friends more quickly.
ICF students won a video contest «Youth against drugs»
ICF students Karipov Marat and Aghayev Hezretaly took first place in the video contest «I am against drugs». The contest was organized by the Belgorod State Technological University named after V. G. Shukhov.
The purpose of the contest was to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, as well as to stimulate the social activities of students aimed at studying the problems of anti-drug orientation.
The guys made a video, the main theme of which was to demonstrate the choice: to remain an addicted person or to fight for his life. In their work, the students masterfully used contrasting images: the gray, faceless world of addiction and the bright, full-fledged life of a person who has chosen health and self-development.
Winning such a competition is not only a source of pride, but also an important contribution to creating a healthy youth environment. We congratulate the students on their well-deserved victory and wish them new creative achievements!
ICF at the Republican Graduation Day
On 27.06.2026, the Republican Graduation Day of Higher Education Institutions was held in Minsk, bringing together more than 3,000 graduates, the most deserving students who have distinguished themselves in their studies, research, and cultural activities. Among them were ICF foreign students, who have proven themselves to be energetic and active students during their studies.
A diverse entertainment program was prepared for the guests of the event on the central stage, including DJ performances, exciting dance battles, and unique photo zones. Our graduates, dressed in festive attire, enjoyed participating in all the activities and singing their favorite hits together.
The Republican graduation celebration was a highlight in the students' academic careers. They are now embarking on their professional journeys, and we have no doubt that they will excel in their chosen fields. We wholeheartedly congratulate the ICF graduates on this significant occasion and wish them continued success, new achievements, and boundless energy!

26.06.2026 in the assembly hall of BNTU a graduation ceremony was held, at which the guys received a higher education diploma.
ICF students Mirzaev Davron Izzatilla ugli, Skipor Maria, Ulmasov Mukhammadjon Olimzhonovich, Mahmudov Mukhammad Ali Otabek ugli received honorary diplomas of BNTU, commendations, as well as the badge of the graduate. During their studies, the students actively participated in cultural and sports events, served on the FMS student council, and demonstrated their responsibility and versatility.

ICF students visited the «Luch» Museum
16.06.2026 students from Turkmenistan visited the Luch Watchmaking Museum. During the tour, the students learned about the history of watchmaking in Belarus and the activities of the Minsk Watch Factory.
The students were particularly interested in the internal mechanisms of watches, antique instruments, and the modern design collections of the Luch brand. The tour allowed the foreign students to learn more about Belarus's industrial heritage and the famous Belarusian enterprise, whose products are known far beyond the country's borders.
During the tour and during their conversations, the students actively practiced the Russian language, expanded their vocabulary, and improved their speaking skills in a real language environment.
After visiting the museum, the students went to Chelyuskintsev Park, one of the most popular recreational areas for residents and visitors of Minsk. The students walked along the picturesque alleys of the park and visited the amusement rides.
The trip provided the participants with a lot of positive emotions, helped the students to get to know the culture and traditions of Belarus better, and was also a great opportunity for communication and strengthening of friendly relations.
ICF students took prizes in the photo contest «A Moment of My Life»
11.06.2026 in the Main Building of BNTU solemnly opened a new exhibition of the best photos of the contest «A Moment of My Life» and awarded the winners.
FMS students took part in the competition, and four of them won prizes: Zübeyir Abay, a student from the Republic of Turkey, and his photo «Minsk. Reflection» (1st place in the «Urban Environment and Architecture» category), Li Yongping, a student from the People's Republic of China, and his photos «Chongqing. China» (3rd place in the «Series» category), Mikail Bakısmaz, a student from the Republic of Turkey, and his photo «Where the Sun Drowns» (3rd place in the «Landscape» category), and Mapenzi Kitalano Beni, a student from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and his photo «Prayer» (3rd place in the «Perspective» category). The exhibition of the best works can be viewed in the lobby of the 4th floor of the main building. It will be of interest to both professional photographers and those who simply want to see the beauty of the world through the eyes of young people.

A dialogue platform with foreign students was held at BNTU: rules, laws, and open dialogue
ICF students at the XV Republican Festival of National Cultures in Grodno
From 05.06 to 06.06 in Grodno took place the final events of the XV Republican Festival of National Cultures, in which our students from the Republic of Uzbekistan Gulyamov Timur, Dzhelilov Dilyaver, Mamatkulov Fozilbek and Mirzaev Davron took part.
The program of the festival was very rich: a theatrical procession, creative projects, national dishes and a festive gala concert. It was also possible to visit various exhibitions, fairs, and thematic areas. The event ended with a laser light show and fireworks.
The festival became a symbol of unity and mutual understanding, showing how art, traditions, and history can bring people from all over the world together.

Students from Turkmenistan Visited the International Exhibition «Belagro-2026»
On June 3, ICF students from Turkmenistan visited the international specialized exhibition «Belagro-2026», held at the Minsk International Exhibition Center «BelExpo».
The visit took place within the framework of the Belarusian Agro-Industrial Week, one of the country’s largest industry forums bringing together representatives of the agricultural, food-processing, and manufacturing sectors, machinery producers, scientific organizations, and international partners.
The forum featured several international exhibitions, including «Belagro-2026», «Belferma», «Belproduct», «Prodmash. Cold. Pack», and «Food Industry». This year, more than 570 companies from 12 countries participated in the event, presenting modern technologies, innovative developments, and the latest models of agricultural machinery.
During the excursion, the students explored exhibitions of leading agricultural machinery manufacturers and saw modern tractors, combine harvesters, milk trucks, and equipment for the agro-industrial sector. Interactive areas and themed zones featuring various breeds of farm animals — including horses, sheep, chickens, turkeys, and other livestock — attracted particular interest among the participants.
Special attention was drawn to the tasting areas, where visitors had the opportunity to try products made by Belarusian manufacturers, including dairy products, meat delicacies, confectionery, and other national food products.
The students noted the high level of organization of the exhibition, the impressive scale of the exposition, and the opportunity to become acquainted with the latest achievements of Belarus’s agro-industrial sector. Visiting «Belagro-2026» became not only an educational experience but also a vivid cultural event that allowed the participants to gain a deeper understanding of the country’s economic and technological potential.
The excursion left the students from Turkmenistan with many positive impressions and contributed to the expansion of their professional and cultural horizons.
Students from Turkmenistan visited the Aviation and Cosmonautics Museum
02.06.2026 June students of the Faculty of International Cooperation of BNTU from Turkmenistan visited the Aviation and Cosmonautics Museum, located at the Lipki airfield near Minsk.
The excursion was a unique opportunity for students to get acquainted with the history of aviation and cosmonautics, to see legendary aircraft and to learn more about the achievements of the Belarusian and global aviation industry.
The Aviation and Cosmonautics Museum is the first and only open-air museum of aviation equipment in Belarus. It was created on the basis of the Central Aero Club of the DOSAAF named after the Hero of the Soviet Union Sergey Gritsevets. The initiative to create the museum was taken by the head of the Aero Club, Nikolai Petrovich Mochansky, with the active participation of the entire team. After the museum moved to the Lipki airfield in 2024, its collection expanded significantly, and today it includes over 50 pieces of aviation equipment.
During the tour, students were able to see unique examples of aviation equipment from different eras. Of particular interest were the Yak-18 aircraft, which was used by the first cosmonaut of the planet, Yuri Gagarin, to train in flight, the Tu-134 passenger aircraft, the An-26 military transport aircraft, and the Mi-26, the world's most powerful helicopter.
The participants were particularly impressed by the legendary Tu-154M, which has been used for many years to transport government delegations.
The students had the opportunity not only to see the aircraft from the outside, but also to visit some of the exhibits, sit at the helm, and feel like real pilots. Visiting the pavilions dedicated to space exploration was equally interesting. Here, you can see unique materials about the development of the space industry, personal belongings of cosmonauts, documents, and photographs. The highlight of the space exhibition is the Soyuz spacecraft lander, an authentic piece that has brought cosmonauts back to Earth after their space missions.
The students were also very interested in the door from the Cosmos Hotel in Baikonur, which still had the autographs of famous cosmonauts and astronauts.
The visit to the Aviation and Cosmonautics Museum was a memorable and exciting event for the students from Turkmenistan, leaving them with a lot of positive impressions and new knowledge.
ICF Students Took Part in the Celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Minsk Tractor Works
On May 29, 2026, students of the Faculty of International Cooperation took part in festive events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Minsk Tractor Works, one of the largest industrial enterprises in the Republic of Belarus.
As part of the event, the students learned about the history and achievements of the Minsk Tractor Works and visited an exhibition of BELARUS TRACTORS machinery, which featured tractor models of different generations and modifications. The exhibition attracted great interest among the international students, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of Belarus’s industrial potential and one of the country's most well-known national brands.
The festive concert program, featuring creative groups and well-known performers, made a particularly strong impression on the visitors. The students immersed themselves in the atmosphere of a large-scale city celebration, became acquainted with Belarusian cultural traditions, and learned more about the history and achievements of one of Belarus’s leading industrial enterprises.
Attending the anniversary events became not only an interesting cultural and educational experience for the international students but also an opportunity to broaden their knowledge of modern Belarus, its industrial development, and its rich labor traditions.
The event left the students with vivid impressions and sparked a genuine interest in the history of the Minsk Tractor Works.
ICF: Africa Day Concert
On May 28, 2026, a small festive concert was held at the Department of Culture to mark the recent celebration of Africa Day.
Foreign students from the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria prepared creative performances for the audience: the students sang their favorite songs, danced, and played musical instruments, creating a positive and energetic atmosphere for everyone present!
The concert began with the song «You Raise Me Up» performed by Mapenzi Kitalano Beni, who captivated the audience with his powerful voice and high-pitched notes. After that, there was a French-language rap by Kazadi Kabey Jimmie, who writes his own songs about God, life, and, of course, love. Jimmie performed two songs: «Vanité» and «Color».
The next number was a duet by Basopo Tanatswa Nicole and Isebeafe-Abache Treasure Anurim with the composition «A Thousand Years». Accompanied by Anurim on the piano, Nicole sang the song with great emotion. After that, Beni sang an original song on the guitar, and Anurim played the saxophone.
Students and listeners of the preparatory department Nhidiri Nokutenda, Mandembo Munase, Basopo Tanatsva Nicole, Kila Lucille Matthew, Chigidi Tadivanase, Muhosi Farai, Muropa Munopa Atwell performed a very bright number: dance and vocal medley under incendiary motifs. The concert ended with the song «Waka Waka», to which all the participants of the event danced. At the end, the guys took memorable photos and shared their emotions!
The event was a true celebration of friendship, unity, and cultural diversity. The concert, which was held on the occasion of Africa Day, once again reminded us that music and dance, as well as the talent and sincerity of our international students, have the power to unite hearts.

A friendly football match at the ICF dedicated to Africa Day
On May 25, 2026, on the International Day of Africa, a spectacular friendly mini-football match was held at the BNTU sports base. The event brought together students from different parts of the world, becoming a real holiday of friendship and sports.
The match was initiated by Justin Brandon, a 1st year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering (a citizen of the Republic of Zimbabwe).
Two teams met on the field: the «Africa» team, made up of students from the African continent, and the «ICF» team, which consisted mainly of students from Central Asia and other regions. Despite the intense and exciting competition, the «ICF» team emerged victorious. However, the true significance of the match lay not in the final score, but in the principles of fair play, mutual respect, and intense competition that were demonstrated on the field. The Africa team has officially requested a rematch, which confirms their keen interest in further sports and cultural exchange.
– Football is a universal language that blurs borders and brings people together. We are pleased that the student's initiative has received a positive response and has turned into a large-scale university event. Such meetings strengthen friendships, promote the gentle integration of foreign students into the academic environment, and create an atmosphere of tolerance that BNTU is rightfully proud of, – said Alexander Sadovsky, Deputy Head of the International Marketing and Foreign Students Department, who was responsible for organizing the event.
The event was held with the full support of the university's structural divisions. The Faculty of Sports and Technology provided the venue and equipment, the food center provided the teams with sweet prizes and drinking water, the medical center and security service ensured comfort and order, and the BNTU media center documented the highlights of the friendly match.
Following the meeting, the possibility of making the match dedicated to Africa Day an annual tradition is being considered. The plans include expanding the format, attracting more participants, and integrating sports competitions into the overall program of the university's intercultural initiatives.
BNTU continues to create an open and supportive environment for international students, where sports and education go hand in hand, and cultural diversity becomes a source of inspiration, unity, and new achievements.
"Guess the Country by the Flag: Africa Day in 18 Dormitory"
For Africa Day on May 23, 2026, an event was held in 18 dormitories. Students from the department and the BNTU ICF shared the event and took part in a mini-game prepared for them by ICF staff.
Cards with the flags of African countries were prepared for the game. Participants divided into teams and took turns guessing which country belonged to which flag. Students supported their teams, offered hints, and encouraged each other.
The game took place in an American atmosphere; students discussed their answers, waited for their chance to draw the next card, and compared guesses. When counting the cards during the final tally, all groups kept track of their number in anticipation of victory.
Ultimately, everyone was pleased: the students really enjoyed the interactive activity and the opportunity to spend time together, chat, guess the flags, and simply be together on this day.
In search of literary treasures: ICF students visited the National Library of Belarus
On May 23, ICF students, together with the teacher-intern Usanova V. V., visited the National Library of Belarus for the first time.
The main purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the literature in Turkmen presented in the main book depository of the Republic of Belarus. The students were able to learn what publications are available in the library's funds: scientific, artistic, journalistic literature, as well as other materials.
During their tour of the library, the participants discovered that Turkmen-language materials are most commonly found in multilingual music collections, cultural magazines, and periodicals. Additionally, the library offers a selection of Turkmen-language fiction and academic publications, which was a pleasant surprise for the students.
The visit to the library's exhibition section was equally captivating, as the students were introduced to contemporary graphic art. They also paid special attention to the shelves filled with language learning materials, which sparked great interest among the international students.
Visiting the National Library of Belarus allowed students to broaden their horizons, get acquainted with the cultural and literary resources of Belarus, and understand the importance of preserving national languages and cultures in the international educational space.
Golden Pen of White Rus
On May 22, 2026, a solemn awards ceremony for the laureates of the first stage of the republican essay competition «Golden Pen of White Rus' 2026» took place. This year, the creative project was dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman and the theme «Woman of Belarus – the strength of roots and the wings of a dream». The works were evaluated in four categories: «Pupil», «Student», «Amateur», and «Professional».
The competent jury awarded the victory in the «Student» category (1st place) to Babanyaz Babanyazov, a student of the FMS from Turkmenistan.The chairman of the competition commission of the Sovetsky District noted the unusual composition and the touching story of Babanyaz about the fates of Turkmen and Belarusian women, as well as the author's own personal story.
The jury recommended the work for participation in the city stage of the competition, which will take place in September. We congratulate Babanyaz Babanyazov (supervisor: A.V. Yarashevich, lecturer at the Department of «Belarusian and Russian Languages») on his well-deserved 1st degree laureate diploma! We wish Babanyaz victory in the city and republican stages of the «Golden Pen of White Rus' 2026» competition!
A CREATIVE “FILM MARATHON” FOR STUDENTS OF THE PREPARATORY DEPARTMENT OF THE ICF
The students also note that on the screen there is no artificial pathos: everything is shown simply and genuinely, without “polishing” the reality – so the picture in the frame is almost no different from what they see and encounter in Belarus. This makes the viewing especially valuable: because film becomes not just entertainment, but a kind of “bridge” between studies, everyday life, and culture.
Belarusian cinema was so well received by the students that they even visited the Belarusfilm studio with an excursion. They were able to see how the process of making films works: how the specialists do their jobs, how the atmosphere of future films is created, and what kind of hard work produces the shots that viewers later rewatch again and again.
By the end of the academic year, the students of the preparatory department became real fans of Belarusian cinema. They said that the films not only entertain, but also teach people to think, empathize, learn something new – and, most importantly, help them adapt faster to a culture that is new for them.
ICF students at the «Friendship Without Borders» Forum
On May 15, activists of the ICF and BNTU Student Council went to the three-day International Youth Forum «Friendship Without Borders», which brought together the most active students from all over the country.
The opening of the forum took place at the memorial line at the Kurgan Slavy memorial, after which the students went to the territory of the «Zubrenok» children's camp, where the main part of the forum took place. Polina Khokhlova, Anetta Rakhmedova, and Maria Skipor presented a project about the Student Council of BNTU, as well as a volunteer project called «Hands of Good» developed during the forum in collaboration with the Belarusian Medical State University.
– The forum was incredible! I really enjoyed how, over the course of three days, we were able to not only discuss serious issues of youth diplomacy and exchange ideas in the Creative Storm, but also make real friends and feel like we were part of something bigger. From the grand opening ceremony to the sports events and the tour, every moment was well-planned and meaningful. I left with a lot of new acquaintances, inspiration, and confidence that borders really do disappear when people are ready for dialogue and cooperation! – shared her feelings Deputy Chairman of the Student Council of the FMS of BNTU Rakhmedova Anetta.
In addition to the presentation sessions, the forum program included networking for students, as well as a rich excursion and concert program with the participation of Belarusian artists.
– These three days flew by in a flash, but they left an unforgettable impression. I remember moving to «Zubrenok», and we quickly found common ground at the Trust Space, as if we had known each other for a hundred years. It was a bit sad to leave, but at the same time, I was impressed and, most importantly, I made new friends. It was a truly unique experience, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in such an event, – said Maria Skipor, Chair of the Russian Community at BNTU.
«The Friendship Without Borders» Forum has once again proven that its main idea is live communication, mutual assistance, and teamwork that bring together young people from different countries. Such events not only broaden their horizons, but also lay the foundation for future cooperation and strong international ties.
ICF at the Open Doors Day
16.05.2026 ICF students attended the Open Doors Day of BNTU, where they could get acquainted with the stands of faculties and enterprises, participate in various interactive activities, and enjoy musical performances.
The students looked at the exhibition of equipment, studied information about the activities of different faculties, tested VR technologies, and took memorable photos at a special platform with a robot artist.
Our student, Mapenzi Kitalano Beni, also performed in the creative part of the event.
The Open Doors Day program was very diverse and eventful: everyone who attended had a lot of fun and gained energy for the next academic year!
The ICF team took second place in the video contest
14.05.2026 in the Hall of Glory of BNTU a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the contests of the university was held.
The results of the video contest of the action "BNTU Students – for a Healthy Lifestyle" were summed up, in which students of the preparatory department and students of the ICF took part. The guys demonstrated in their video how to integrate sports into everyday life, and proved that it is not necessary to go to the gym, have exercise equipment and professional sports training, it is enough to take the simplest steps: morning exercises, walking instead of an elevator, and, of course, dancing.
The Chairman of the Student Council of BNTU, Alexander Malashko, awarded the best creative teams, one of which was the ICF team. The guys took the honorable second place, with which we congratulate them! We wish further success in studies, creativity and sports!
ICF's victory in the basketball competition
On 13.05.2026, the basketball competition within the framework of the BNTU Students' Spartakiad among the teams of faculties came to an end.
The winner and the prize-winner of the team championship was the team of the Faculty of International Cooperation.
Throughout the entire tournament grid, the ICF team demonstrated a well-coordinated team game, high discipline and will to win. In the final confrontation, the basketball players defeated their opponents, confirming the status of the strongest.

ICF at the solemn laying of flowers at the Victory Monument
09.05.2026 took place the solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the Victory Monument, which was attended by students of the preparatory department and foreign students from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Zimbabwe, the Republic of Turkey, together with the Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation P.I. Shirvel and Deputy Dean for ideological and educational work E.V. Lazuko.
For the students, this day was not just an introduction to tradition, but an important step towards understanding the Belarusian soul and the price that the Soviet people paid for victory. «This is an incredible tragedy. We must remember and acknowledge its scale, and truly understand the value of a peaceful sky today», — the students shared. As they laid flowers at the monument, they not only paid tribute to the fallen, but also made an unspoken commitment to preserve the peace that came at such a high cost to humanity.
The ceremony culminated in a minute of silence, during which students, along with veterans and thousands of Minsk residents, honored those who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of their homeland.
Victory Day Film Screening
08.05.2026 in the Coworking Scientific Library of BNTU held a film screening dedicated to Victory Day.
Students of the FMS watched the film «Brest Fortress», which tells about the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress, which took the first blow of the German fascist invaders on June 22, 1941.
The film made a strong impression on the guys. They learned about how ordinary soldiers, completely surrounded and without water or food, continued to fight for weeks, and in some cases, even months after the war began.
These film screenings are an important part of the work to preserve historical memory. War-themed films resonate with foreign students, helping them to gain a deeper understanding of Belarusian history and culture.
ICF student at the Memory of the Heart competition
On 07.05.2026 in the assembly hall of the 11-A building, the Memory of the Heart competition of military-patriotic songs was held. Each faculty presented a creative number revealing the theme of the events of the Great Patriotic War.
Our student from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mapenzi Kitalano Beni, performed the song «Eh, the Roads». Despite the fact that Beni sang in Russian for the first time, he admitted that he really liked this composition for its depth and sincerity.
Our student was awarded a special diploma by the jury. The Memory of the Heart competition once again proved that the feat of the generation of Winners unites everyone who values life and a peaceful sky.
ICF students at the quiz «Forever in Memory»
05.05.2026 ICF students took part in the competition for knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War "Forever in Memory", held in the reading room of the Scientific Library of BNTU.
Teams from all faculties answered questions related to the main battles and operations, heroes and commanders, and also recalled important dates. The students demonstrated their knowledge and respect for history, proving that the feat of the Soviet people is understandable and close to everyone who values peace.
The ICF team won bronze at the BNTU mini-football spartakiad
On April 30, 2026, the mini-football competitions within the framework of the BNTU Student Spartakiad for the 2025/2026 academic year concluded. Following intense matches, the Faculty of International Cooperation team took third place, demonstrating high skill and a strong will to win.
In the preliminary stage, our athletes performed confidently and effectively. In the group, they faced the teams of STF, FTUG, and SF. The ICF team did not suffer a single defeat, winning all matches and naturally taking first place in their group. It is especially worth noting the important victories over last year's spartakiad champions – the STF team. This result became a vivid testament to the growth of our players' sports skills and tactical literacy.
In the semifinals, the competition took on an uncompromising nature. In a tense confrontation, the ICF team lost to the EF team, but did not give up and entered the third-place match with maximum determination. Their opponent was the WTF team. The main hero of the decisive moment was ICF team goalkeeper Gurban Ovezov. Demonstrating incredible reflexes, composure, and endurance, he saved three crucial shots from the opponent, thereby securing victory for his team in the match and bringing home the bronze medals of the spartakiad. All the players of the team showed true dedication, unity, and will to win.

Protecting Memory for the Future
For many years, the Belarusian National Technical University has been contributing to the preservation of the country’s historical heritage, actively participating in the restoration and reconstruction of monuments related to the Great Patriotic War. This important work continues, and this April is no exception.
In anticipation of the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory, the BNTU student construction brigade carried out extensive restoration work at military burial site No. 4830 in the village of Zagvazdino, Dubrovensky District, Vitebsk Region. In addition to the burial site itself, the students tidied up the surrounding area, making it more well-kept and worthy of the memory of the fallen heroes.
Students from Uzbekistan studying at BNTU — at the Faculty of Transport Communications, the Faculty of Architecture, and the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanities — joined this noble mission. Together with their Belarusian comrades, they laid tiles, cleaned the monument and memorial plaques, and carried out restoration work to restore the original appearance of the monument’s elements. Among the active participants from Uzbekistan were Abdumannonov Janobiddin Fakhriddin ugli, Saidalimov Alisher Shukhrat ugli, and Kuchkorov Shomurod Jasurbekovich.
The history of the Great Patriotic War is not only a history of great battles but also of personal destinies intertwined by common hardship and a common goal. The Uzbek people, like many other peoples of the Soviet Union, contributed to the common Victory. Among those who gave their lives for a peaceful sky was Lieutenant Abdulla Gilyamov, the grandfather of Abdulaziz Gulamov, Rector of Tashkent State Transport University, who is our long-standing and reliable partner. Lieutenant Gilyamov fell in battle on June 23, 1944, his feat becoming part of the grandiose Belarusian offensive operation “Bagration,” during which thousands of settlements were liberated. Today he rests in a mass grave in Zagvazdino, a symbol of the unbreakable bond between the peoples who forged the Victory.
The joint work of students from friendly countries is a vivid example of how the younger generation treats history with care and strives to preserve the memory of their ancestors’ feat for future generations.

ICF Student Wins Grand Prix at International Olympiad in Russian as a Foreign Language
Festival of National Cultures
On April 24, the 5th Festival of National Cultures took place at BNTU, where ICF students and preparatory department students from different countries showcased their creative abilities and immersed the audience in the atmosphere of their culture through national dishes, costumes, and souvenirs.
The event began in the hall of Building 11-A: a display was prepared for the guests, and they could try authentic Turkmen, Uzbek, and Tajik pilaf, as well as various Kazakh treats. Students from the Republic of Zimbabwe prepared «mopane worms» and explained that this dish is a rich source of protein and is considered a delicacy in their homeland.
At 14:00, the Gala Concert began, the program of which was very diverse: Turkmen, Kazakh, and Chinese national dances; instrumental music from young people from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Republic of Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of Congo; poems in Turkmen, Kazakh, Uzbek, Tajik, Russian, and Belarusian; as well as Chinese opera, rap, and contemporary choreography. The concert concluded with a ceremonial awarding of all festival participants.
The Festival of National Cultures at BNTU for the fifth time confirmed: friendship, creativity, and mutual respect have no borders. Thanks to such events, students become one big international family!
Students from Turkey Explore Masterpieces at the National Art Museum
On April 20, a group of students from Turkey visited the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus. The excursion formed part of an educational and cultural program aimed at broadening students’ horizons and introducing them to the artistic heritage of Belarus.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to see works by Belarusian and international artists, become familiar with various trends in fine art, and learn more about the history behind the exhibited pieces. Particular attention was paid to the analysis of artistic imagery, composition, and color schemes.
The highlight of the excursion was the students’ encounter with a painting by Marc Chagall — The Walk. The chance to see the original work sparked great interest among the students. They noted the expressiveness of the artist’s style, the richness of the color palette, and the symbolic depth of the imagery.
During the discussion, participants shared their interpretations of the painting, reflected on its emotional impact, and considered the universal themes of love, freedom, and inspiration conveyed in the work. This format of interaction contributed to the development of students’ analytical thinking and communication skills.
The museum visit proved to be not only informative but also inspiring, allowing students to engage more deeply with the world of art and discover new cultural meanings.
Results of the Republican competition for foreign students
Subbotnik at ICF
On April 16, students and attendees of ICF joined the republican subbotnik. Work was carried out on the territory adjacent to Student Dormitory No. 18.
During the subbotnik, the students cleaned up last year's leaves, branches, and random trash on lawns and pedestrian paths. The subbotnik was not limited to outdoor work: the students tidied up rooms, common areas, and halls.
The dormitory administration thanked the students for their assistance. The joint work not only transformed the dormitory territory but also united ICF students. Such events foster a caring attitude towards the environment and the home you live in.
ICF students at the «Best BNTU Group – 2026» contest
From April 14, 2026, to April 17, 2026, international students of group 10607224 participated in the competitive stages and the final of the «Best BNTU Group – 2026».
The first stage was the presentation of study groups, held on April 14 at the BNTU Scientific Library. Our students, together with their curator, a lecturer in the Department of «Belarusian and Russian Languages», Anna Viktorovna Yeroshevich, creatively introduced themselves through a song in which they talked about their student life, and also displayed on the screen joint photos from various events.
On April 15, an intellectual round was held for the participants, during which our participants answered questions in the field of history and geography, solved puzzles, and guessed movies.
On April 16, the sports stage of the competition took place, during which students had to demonstrate their attentiveness, agility, and speed. The guys threw basketballs into the hoop, went through a coordination «track of footprints», competing in accuracy with other teams.
The final of the competition took place on April 17 in the assembly hall of building 11A. After the dance performance, which involved the heads of all study groups, the award ceremony began. The group supervisor, Anna Viktorovna Eroshevich, won in the category «Best Study Group Supervisor», and our students were awarded certificates for participation, commemorative gifts, and movie tickets!
The students of the PD visited the Museum of the Great Patriotic War
On April 10, foreign students of the preparatory department of the ICF visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.
The students looked with great interest at the personal belongings of soldiers, letters from the front, and interactive exhibitions that recreate the atmosphere of wartime, and they also actively asked questions to the teacher.
Visiting the museum's exhibitions helped the foreign students to better understand why the memory of the war remains sacred for the Belarusian people.
Such excursions contribute to the development of respect for the country's history.
ICF students at the «Treasury of Knowledge»
09.04.2026, the National Library, «the Treasure House of Knowledge», opened its doors to ICF students.
The students took a full-fledged overview tour, which culminated in an exit to the famous observation deck.
During the tour, the students got acquainted with the unique collection of the Book Museum in detail, which presents more than three hundred unique book monuments. The exhibition clearly demonstrates the development of Belarusian book printing in the context of the global history of the book. The students saw handwritten books on parchment, ancient manuscripts and the first printed editions. The main pearl of the collection is, of course, the Bible books published by Francysk Skaryna in 1517-1519.
The children's attention was also drawn to other rarities: the smallest book in the collection, the letters of which can only be seen under a magnifying glass, and huge folios that not every adult can lift.
The library staff gave the students a brief introduction to modern services, including electronic document delivery, remote reading rooms, and access to international databases, which will be indispensable for their coursework and thesis projects. The students were also shown the TELELIFT system, a unique conveyor belt that delivers ordered books from storage to reading rooms in a matter of minutes. They also saw electronic catalogs and learned how to become a reader, gaining access to millions of books in over 80 languages.
The foreign students also visited a photo exhibition dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman, which was presented today at the Main Library of the country, and then went up to the observation deck, from where the city is visible as if on a silver platter.
The main conclusion that the students made for themselves is that a modern library is not just a place where books are stored, but a foundation for solid knowledge in any field. And those who learn to extract the most valuable information from this «treasure trove» will surely achieve success.
Travel to the castles of Belarus 
ICF: Winning in three categories at the BNTU Spring Festival
On 07.04, the gala concert of the BNTU Spring Festival of Student Creativity 2026 was held in the auditorium of the 11th building of the BNTU, where the results of the 4 previous days of competition were summed up, during which our students actively demonstrated their talents.
At the Song Festival, the Faculty of International Cooperation was represented by a student from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mapenzi Kitalano Beni, who performed the song «Jubiler». The performance was very energetic: the audience sang along and actively supported, and in the background at that time you could see photos of Congolese landscapes. Beni won in the nomination «The winner through the eyes of the participants», as well as the winner of the «Special Jury Diploma».
The «Festival of Instrumental Music» surprised the audience with the variety of selected compositions and musical instruments. Our students, Izeabeafe-Abache Tresh Anurim from Nigeria, Biembe Benkelenge Medard from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mandembo Munase from Zimbabwe, and Atueyi Odirah Linus from Nigeria, performed a mix of famous songs, including «Until I found you» and «Perfect», playing saxophone, piano, bass guitar, and drums. To the sound of the melodious melody, the audience turned on their flashlights on their phones, creating a very soulful and touching atmosphere. The students won the 2nd degree diploma!
The Faculty of International Cooperation also participated in the «Dance Festival». Students from Russia, Kalyukova Milena, Chekushina Karina, and Titar Daria, along with students from Belarus, Malinovskaya Polina and Kharchenko Ulyana, performed the «Mermaid» dance to the tune of the Russian folk song «The Fast River Flows». The dance was very theatrical, ethnic, and graceful!
The gala concert was a very colorful and vibrant event, both for the audience and for our participants. We congratulate the guys on their achievements!
BNTU at the III International Festival-Exhibition of Foreign Universities "Tajikistan-2026"
ICF students visited the National Art Museum
03.06.2026 a group of foreign students visited the National Art Museum. The guys were able to trace the reflection of history, values and national character in the painting of different eras and countries.
The visit began with the halls of Russian art. Then the group moved to the halls of European art, where the students compared the different approaches of artists of different countries to the depiction of a person, urban environment and nature. Special attention in the program of the excursion was paid to the halls of Belarusian art. Here, the participants got to know the artistic vision of Belarus: through landscapes of fields and forests, scenes of village life and portraits of people.
At the end of the tour, each student chose the artwork that had made the most impression on them. The visit to the National Art Museum was a significant experience of cultural integration. The students got to know the exhibition and had the opportunity to compare different artistic traditions.
The victory of a ICF student in the VII Open Competition of National Cultures, Creativity, and Beauty «Grazia International 2026»
From March 23 to 27, the VII Open Competition of National Cultures, Creativity and Beauty «Grazia International 2026» was held in Vitebsk.
In the final of the competition, which brought together participants from different countries (Belarus, Russia, China, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Nigeria, Turkmenistan, India), the Belarusian National Technical University was represented by a student of the Faculty of International Cooperation from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mapenzi Kitalano Beni.
For five days, the contestants actively rehearsed, attended excursions, learned about the culture and history of Vitebsk, and prepared for the final day.
The final day (March 27) began in the hall of the Vitebsk Concert Hall with the National Dish competition, where the participants showcased their country's popular dishes to the audience and the jury, sharing their recipes and cooking secrets. Beni presented a traditional Congolese dish, Fufu, a porridge made from sweet potatoes, wheat flour, bananas, and spices. The presentation was accompanied by guitar music to immerse the audience in the Congolese cultural experience. Beni was assisted by a support group: FMS students from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Yotemema Ramazani Josaphat and Kazadi Kabeya Jimmi.
The main part of the competition continued on the stage of the Vitebsk Concert Hall. As one of the hosts of the final, the organizers invited Mirzaev Davron, a student of the ICf at BNTU, to participate in the 6th Open Competition of National Cultures, Creativity, and Beauty «Grazia International 2025».The participants paraded in national and evening costumes, demonstrating their oratorical skills and creative talents. The topics of the oratorical competition were dedicated to the history of their country and its legends. Beni told the audience about his homeland, the Bafuliru tribe, the province of South Kivu, and the village of Lemera. The student explained that there are four national languages in the Democratic Republic of the Congo: Lingala, Swahili, Kikongo, and Tshiluba, but he also speaks French, English, and Russian. The main message of his speech was that despite the different languages, the people of the country share a common currency, cuisine, and, most importantly, music. «I want to show you how unique and multicultural Congo is. Although the people belong to different ethnic groups, we all have a lot in common», Beni shared. In the creative performance competition, the student performed the French song «Jubiler», which tells the story of God's love for humanity.
At the end of all the tests, the jury determined the winners in such categories as «Miss Charm», «Mr. Gallantry», «Miss Style», «Mr. Photo», «Miss and Mr. Tastenation», 1st and 2nd «Vice-Miss International», 1st and 2nd «Vice-Mr. International».
Next, the main winners were announced and awarded with diplomas and memorable gifts. Beni became «Mr. International 2026» and also won the «Viewer's Choice Award» by receiving the most votes in the online poll.
Next year, the event organizers invited Beni to become a member of the «Gracia International 2027» jury!

Choosing engineering is choosing the future
On 21 March 2026, the Faculty of International Cooperation took part in the BNTU Open Day, as is customary. Companies seeking to recruit staff also participated in this large-scale event.
At the opening, Rector S.V. Kharitonchik delivered a welcoming speech, emphasising the significant role of and demand for engineering specialisations in the modern world.
Foreign nationals, including students from the BNTU Preparatory Department, visited the exhibition of BNTU faculties to decide on their future course of study.
Some of them had already decided on their future speciality, such as Avah Adil Mohamedelkhasen Abdelhamid from Sudan, as well as students from Zimbabwe – Tsumba Victor Tadivanashe, Muropa Munopa Atwell and Mukhosi Faraai – who will continue their studies at the BNTU Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics. Guests from the Russian Federation attending the event expressed their intention to enrol at the Faculty of Management and Humanities.
Participants were able to chat with representatives of Belarusian companies, receive promotional materials, and take part in games and quests, as well as numerous masterclasses and training sessions.
The Student Council of the ICF was held
On March 17, 2026, the Student Council of the ICF was held at BNTU, where representatives of the nationalities of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, Zimbabwe, and China gathered to discuss current issues of the faculty.
The Chairman of the Student Council of the ICF, Polina Khokhlova, reminded the participants of the main goals of this organization: helping students adapt, establishing connections between students from different countries, and actively participating in the university's social and cultural life.
The most relevant issues for discussion were the upcoming events: «Navruz», «BNTU Festival of National Cultures» and «BNTU Spring». The students proposed ideas for creative performances, exhibitions dedicated to the cultures of their countries, and shared their impressions of participating in these events in previous years.
In addition, the students discussed the current issues of living in dormitories.
A dialogue platform with international students was held at the Federal Migration Service
On March 13, 2026, a dialogue platform on crime prevention among international students was held at BNTU. Olga Nikolaevna Solovyova, Deputy Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, was invited to speak at the meeting. The meeting was organized to remind international students of their responsibility for administrative and criminal offenses.
Using practical examples, the students were taught what to do if they find someone else's lost item, how to stay safe online and avoid scams, and the importance of following traffic rules. Olga Nikolaevna also reminded them about the visa application and renewal procedures and the paperwork required for vacation travel. They also emphasized the need to comply with the university and dormitory regulations.
At the end of the meeting, Olga Nikolaevna urged the young people to remember that they came to Belarus to receive an education, and any violations of the law could hinder this and ruin all their future plans. Hu Jiandong and Liu Xingbang, young people from China, shared their impressions of the meeting: «When we were choosing a country to study in, we considered one of the main advantages that makes Belarus stand out—its security. We feel safe here, and our families don't worry about us either. But we understand that we, like other residents and visitors to the country, must strictly abide by all laws to ensure that this wonderful country remains peaceful and hospitable».
A Chinese student on the art of inner strength
In the field of Chinese martial arts, many people have heard about Kung Fu, as it is a global phenomenon that carries a certain philosophy of life. However, few people talk about the different types of this sport, which are more than four hundred in the modern world.
Sun Qi, a master's student at the Faculty of Instrument Engineering at BNTU, studies Physical Education and Sports. He came to Belarus from Beijing to study, make new friends, and introduce us to one of the many forms of Kung Fu: Tai Chi.
During Tai Chi classes, practitioners perform a series of exercises that involve smooth movements and breathing techniques. Sun Qi has successfully established a Tik Tok account, where he shares his exercises, values, and passions. We had the opportunity to connect with him and learn more about his plans and interests.
– Tell us about your impressions of being in Belarus.
– At the moment, I have only visited Brest in addition to Minsk, and now I want to travel around this country more. My friends from China advised me to choose this university, and I really like it here!
– What are your plans for the future?
– After completing my master's degree, I may be able to teach at a college here. I also know that China and Belarus are good friends, and I would like to find like-minded people here to take photos or make videos together.
– What role does sport play in your life?
– I have been practicing Tai Chi for 10 years, and for me it is much more than just a sport, it is a form of art that also has meditative properties. I have the highest sports title in Chinese Wushu (Kung Fu) – Wu Ying-level athletes, and I am a martial arts master.
– How long have you been running a Tik-Tok account, and how do you promote your videos?
– I've been actively doing this for a little over three months. I think the most important thing is to make high-quality videos that showcase Chinese culture and Belarusian landmarks. I want to collaborate with other people, and I believe that martial arts can be great combined with dancing. I would like to promote my culture to other students!

Visit to BNTU by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Belarus
On 06.03.2026, a visit was made to BNTU by a delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Belarus in the person of the First Secretary Shakanov Samat Kazbekovich and the Third Secretary Irgalieva Aigerim Amangeldinovna. On the part of BNTU, the negotiations were attended by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Y.A. Nikolaychik, the Dean of the ICF P.I. Shirvel, and the Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work of the ICF E.V. Lazuko.
The event was organized with the aim of discussing the prospects for cooperation in the field of education and science and the current issues of the stay and study of BNTU students from Kazakhstan. The representatives of the Embassy noted their interest in training specialists in the fields of mechanical engineering, engineering, energy construction, transport technologies, and instrumentation.
Next, a meeting was held with students of the BNTU from among the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at which the students were informed about the holding of the 15.03.2026 in Kazakhstan of the republican referendum on the draft new Constitution of the country and about the possibility of participation in the voting.
The representatives of the Embassy noted the high level of organization of the meeting and expressed satisfaction with the organization of the educational process at the BNTU and the opportunities for extracurricular activities.
Quiz «March 8» for foreign students
On March 5, 2026, ICF held an educational and entertaining quiz for foreign students and preparatory department students to mark International Women's Day. The event took place in the Scientific Library of BNTU.
The students were divided into teams and collectively answered questions related to the history and features of the holiday, watched educational videos, and played «Guess the Melody».
During the results count, a musical gift was played for all the guests of the event by a student from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kitalano Beni, who played the guitar, and a student from Nigeria, Izebeafe-Abache Treghe Anurim, who played the saxophone.
The winning team won a sweet prize, and the participants were awarded diplomas.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the students were able to not only test their knowledge, but also give each other a spring mood in anticipation of the holiday.
BNTU ICF students took part in the events dedicated to the Day of the Belarusian Militia
On March 4, BNTU ICF students attended the celebrations dedicated to the Day of the Belarusian Militia. The festive program was held in the center of Minsk, on Oktyabrskaya Square near the Palace of the Republic, where the Ministry of Internal Affairs held the republican action «For Security – Together». The event gathered a large number of residents and guests of the capital who wanted to learn about the activities of law enforcement agencies and take part in the festive program.
A rich and diverse program was prepared for visitors. A large-scale exhibition of modern and rare police equipment was held on the square: from retro cars that were used in different periods of history to the latest models of specialized vehicles used by police officers today. Students were able to see the equipment up close and learn about its purpose and features.
The students were particularly interested in learning about the work of various departments within the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus shared information about the specific tasks of forensic experts, State Automobile Inspectorate officers, OMON officers, and patrol officers. The participants had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the challenges faced by police officers in ensuring public safety.
The event provided students with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the workings of law enforcement agencies, observe their technical equipment, and interact with current officers in an informal setting.
The students of the preparatory department visited the National Art Museum
On March 2, 2026, a new group of students from the preparatory department of our university visited the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus.
The special feature of this excursion was that it was the first meeting of the students with each other. On this day, they were able to get to know each other in an informal setting and start their studies with a joint cultural event.
Visiting the museum helped the students of the preparatory department not only to get to know the artistic heritage of Belarus better, but also to establish communication within the group more quickly. The group's joint tour, discussions about the exhibits, and lively interactions helped to strengthen the group's unity and openness to further collaboration.
For the students who had just arrived in Belarus and were just beginning to explore the country's culture, this visit was a real revelation. The museum welcomed its guests with a rich collection of artworks, ranging from ancient Russian icons to the works of contemporary Belarusian artists.
During the tour, the participants explored the museum's exhibits, admired the creations of Belarusian and international artists, and learned about the development of national fine art.
The students of the preparatory department of FMS BNTU visited the historical and cultural center "Stalin Line"
On February 21, 2026, the students of the preparatory department of ICF BNTU visited the historical and cultural complex "Stalin Line" as part of the celebration of Defender of the Fatherland Day and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. The students were impressed by the diversity of exhibits, including the famous T-34 tanks and self-propelled artillery installations.
The highlight of the celebration was two large-scale reenactments. The first reenactment depicted the episode of the Battle of Moscow in 1942, honoring the heroic tankers. The second reenactment was the "Checkpoint" battle from the Afghan War, which paid tribute to the Heroes of the Soviet Union. The battles, featuring rare military equipment, left the future engineers in awe.
"We don't have anything like this in our country. To see history come alive right before your eyes, with equipment and pyrotechnics, is a complete immersion!" – the students shared their impressions.
The trip to the "Stalin Line" became not just an excursion for the foreign students of BNTU, but a vivid introduction to the history and culture of the country where they currently live and study. The tour, conducted in Russian, was comprehensible to all and helped them better appreciate the heroic past of the Republic of Belarus.
ICF at the «E.T.N.O.» National Creativity Festival
On February 21, 2026, the «E.T.N.O.» National Creativity Festival was held in Vitebsk.
Our student from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kitalano Beni, took part in the concert, performing the song «Parfum qui chante» in French. «This composition was written by a Congolese gospel group, – Beni shared, – I chose it because I really love Christian music».
The event itself had a diverse program, including interactive spaces, master classes in folk crafts and traditional arts, and a vibrant gala concert featuring performances by Belarusian and international students. The Vitebsk Concert Hall brought together many creative people to showcase the cultural heritage of different countries through music and dance.
We thank the organizers for the opportunity to experience other cultures, and we hope this celebration becomes a wonderful annual tradition!
Foreign students celebrate Maslenitsa
On February 21, Chinese master's students attended the «Spring and Pancake Festival» at the Botanical Garden.
The students learned why it's traditional to eat pancakes during Maslenitsa, enjoyed tasting this traditional dish, sipped tea from a real samovar, participated in activities offered by the organizers (for example, learning archery), and strolled through the Botanical Garden's greenhouse.

International students danced in circles with the rest of the students, sang songs, and enjoyed delicious pancakes while listening to stories about how the Maslenitsa pancake symbolizes the sun.
They also had the opportunity to participate in a team competition to braid the longest and most beautiful braid using colorful satin ribbons and win memorable prizes!
ICF students took part in a linguistic quiz
As part of the International Mother Language Day, our students participated in the linguistic quiz «Slova da slova — budze mova», held at the Center for Research of Belarusian Culture and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The team presented a bright creative introduction, confidently answered questions in all rounds, and demonstrated excellent knowledge of the Belarusian language and culture. As a result of the intellectual competition, the students earned an honorable 2nd place.
Taking part in the quiz was not only an opportunity to test their knowledge but also a chance to connect with the richness of Belarusian cultural heritage and experience an atmosphere of cooperation and friendly rivalry.

On February 16, the Yakub Kolas Institute of Linguistics of the Center for Research on Belarusian Culture, Language, and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences launched events dedicated to the International Mother Language Day.
ICF students attended a creative meeting titled «Artificial Intelligence: Is It Possible to Converse with It in Your Native Language?»
The event turned into an exciting experiment at the intersection of technology and linguistics, bringing together participants from various countries.
The meeting showcased songs created using artificial intelligence in the Belarusian language. The dialogue was conducted in both Belarusian and English. Foreign students actively asked questions during the event.
At the end of the creative meeting, students were able to hear a live performance by students from the Minsk State College of Arts, who performed songs in the Belarusian language.
The participants concluded that today, with the help of artificial intelligence, it is possible to speak, create, and innovate not only in English, but also in the vibrant Belarusian and other languages, opening up new horizons for the preservation and promotion of national cultures.
ICF students visited a SAMBO tournament
15.02.2026 ICF students visited an international SAMBO tournament. The event allowed foreign students to get acquainted with the sports culture of the country of study.
The students watched the intense fights on the mat, emotionally supported the participants, and discussed the twists and turns of the wrestling. The atmosphere of healthy competition and unity left no one indifferent.
Chinese students visited «Silichi»
On February 14, on the eve of the Chinese New Year, Chinese students visited the Silichi ski center.
Instructor Sergey Troshin held a mountain skiing lesson for the girls, after which the girls felt like real skiers and were able to make their first independent descents.
In just a couple of hours of classes, the Chinese students not only mastered the theory, but also confidently stood on skis. Sergey gave the girls a full tour of the slopes of the complex, and told them about the safety rules on the track. The visit to Silichi was an excellent opportunity for the students to experience one of the most popular winter activities in Belarus.
ICF students at the Spring Festival
On February 14, foreign students of BNTU visited the Spring Festival at the First National Handball House shopping center. The guests saw performances by Chinese artists, circus acrobatics, and a joint performance with the «Khoroshki» ensemble.
The interactive areas were particularly interesting, as the students watched the masters paint Beijing opera masks and draw with caramel. Students also learned about cloisonne (Jin Tai Lan) art, the art of cloisonne enamel, and tried calligraphy, origami, and board games «Go» and «Xianqi» at the Confucius Institute of BNTU and BSUF.
The event allowed participants to get a deeper insight into the traditions of Chinese culture and experience the atmosphere of the Spring Festival.

On February 14, the students of the preparatory department held a themed lesson on Valentine's Day. The students actively participated in a quiz on the traditions of the holiday.
Under the guidance of the teacher, the students created their own Valentine's cards. During the lesson, the students learned about the love poetry of different nations, including songs in Turkish, Turkmen, Chinese, and other languages.

On 11.02.2026, ICF students and PD students visited the «Oktyabr» Cinema to watch and discuss a thematic film with invited speakers. The event was organized as part of the national project «Being a Mom is cool». The documentary film «Belarus. Adzinstva» was chosen for viewing. After the final credits, a lively dialogue began, with important social and cultural topics that unite generations being actively discussed.

As part of the festive events dedicated to the «Week of Belarusian Science» on January 28, foreign students visited the Republican Scientific and Technical Library, where students were able to familiarize themselves not only with scientific and technical literature, but also visited the exhibition-presentation «Rakovsky's Industrial Rhythm: history, people, buildings».
In the reading room of scientific and technical literature, students got acquainted with the thematic exhibition «Cyber Security: protection in the digital world». The exhibition featured monographs, textbooks, and periodicals on fundamental aspects of cryptography, network security, risk management, and legal regulation of information security. Foreign students saw unique collections of technical literature, learned about modern electronic resources and services that the Russian Library of Technology offers for education and scientific work.

The exhibition provided a true immersion into the world of modern technology for the future engineers. A key feature of the exhibition is its interactive and practice-oriented format. The students actively interacted with the exhibits.
This visit was an important addition to the university curriculum, clearly demonstrating the connection between fundamental education and its practical application in the context of the development of innovative Belarus. BNTU students and faculty noted the high organizational and technological level of the exhibition, which inspires learning, research, and innovation.
ICF at the Open Day at the BNTU
On Saturday, January 17, 2026, listeners of the Preparatory Department and students accompanied by educators of the Faculty of International Cooperation visited the Open Day at the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU). On this day, BNTU turned into a large interactive venue where prospective students and their parents were able to experience the atmosphere of student life and discover the world of engineering, economic, and creative specializations.
The guests were offered exhibitions, workshops, faculty presentations, guided tours of academic buildings, career guidance testing, as well as consultations on admission issues. The performances of creative groups, photo zones, and interactive activities attracted particular interest among visitors. International students enthusiastically listened to folk music performances and received commemorative gifts.
The participants of the event noted the rich program, the opportunity to communicate directly with university students and teachers, and the large amount of useful information they received about academic programs and student life at BNTU.

On January 9, ICF students and PD students took a tour of the country's main book treasure, the National Library.
The students visited the reading rooms, the book museum, and various exhibitions. The music room, where they could play the piano and listen to vinyl records, left a lasting impression on everyone.
After visiting the book museum, the students left their feedback in the guest book and took many beautiful photos to remember the visit.
ICF: «My Belarus» exhibition
On January 6th a group of international students from the preparatory department of the Belarusian National Technical University embarked on an educational trip to the International Exhibition Center to visit "My Belarus" exhibition. This event was more than just a tour; it was an immersion into the country's historical, cultural and technological space.
Students showed a keen interest and enthusiasm in the exhibition halls. The exposition, which combined achievements in industry, IT, agriculture, as well as the rich cultural heritage of Belarus, left no one indifferent. The festival gathered representatives from various countries under one roof.
The International Cooperation Faculty of BNTU was represented by students from the preparatory department of ICF BNTU from the Republic of Turkey. The students performed the well-known song "Conversation with Happiness." This performance became a real hit of the evening, and the audience warmly supported the students, applauding and singing along to the familiar melodies.

ICF: Meeting with the State Automobile Inspectorate
On December 24, 2025, a meeting was held between foreign students and inspectors from the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Central District of Minsk.
During the meeting, the main rules of traffic, pedestrian traffic, and the responsibility for violations were explained. Special attention was given to the importance of using reflective elements at night and the rules of behavior near the roadway. The purpose of the event was to improve students' road safety awareness and knowledge.
New Year at the ICF
Today, we want to tell you how our foreign students spent their New Year holidays. While Belarusian students often return home to celebrate the New Year, our students stay here, and we have organized various events specifically for them. On the eve of the New Year, on December 27, 1st-year students visited the F1-katok ice rink and the Christmas Fair on Nemiga. The students also watched performances by acrobats and dancers and participated in the fair's win-win lottery. On 30.12, the Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages and the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology at BNTU held a joint «New Year's Conversation Club». Master's students, who study Russian as a foreign language, and students, who study Chinese, engaged in discussions about the traditions of celebrating the New Year in Belarus and China. In the new year, a number of events were also held for ICF students. On January 1, a diverse program was prepared for the students in Dormitory No. 13, combining active games and intellectual tasks. The students competed in agility in the game «Stulchik», tested their luck in «Blind Candy Collecting», and demonstrated their knowledge in a themed «New Year's Quiz». For each victory in the contests, the students received sweet prizes. On January 2, a festive tea party was organized for students, where they learned about the Christmas traditions of Belarus in a very warm and friendly atmosphere, and shared their customs from their home countries. On January 4, a screening of «New Year's Short Films» was held in Dormitory 6. The students watched Soviet and modern New Year's films and shared their impressions. In Dormitory 18, a video was shown about the cultural aspects of celebrating Christmas and New Year's in Belarus. The students from Zimbabwe also shared their experiences of celebrating these holidays in their country and wrote greeting cards to each other. The «Symbols of the Year» curatorial hour was held in Dormitory No. 16. The students gathered to create holiday amulets from salt dough. At the workshop, the students sculpted symbol figures: Christmas balls as a sign of joy and festive mood; stars as a symbol of hope and fulfillment of desires; horseshoes as a traditional sign of good luck and prosperity. The year 2026 began brightly and productively for the students, we wish them new achievements and impressions!

04.12.2025 ICF students and students of the PD as part of the week of volunteering at BNTU visited the temporary detention center for animals «Fauna of the City».
The guys got acquainted with its inhabitants, brought food and toys, walked around the entire territory, listened to stories from the workers, learned about the difficult fates of animals that ended up in the shelter, and how the employees fight every day for their health and a chance to find a new home.
The students not only provided financial assistance, but also gave their pets attention and affection. This experience served as an important lesson in humanity and responsibility. It is important to remember that even small steps can make a difference.
ICF Students attend meeting with representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan
On 4 December 2025, a meeting was held between representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Belarus and students-citizens of Uzbekistan.
The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. Its main objectives were to prevent offenses among foreign students, to inform them about the current rules of stay in Belarus, and to foster a trusting dialogue and support for international students.
During the meeting, embassy representatives and organizers discussed the rights and responsibilities of foreign students, examined real cases of violations and their consequences. Special attention was given to legal literacy: participants were informed about their rights and obligations, then a quiz titled “How Well Do You Know the Rights of Our Country” was held. As a result of the quiz, the three most active and engaged students received commemorative gifts from the embassy.
Organizers aimed to establish a connection with the students: they asked questions, solicited opinions, and encouraged dialogue.
Such events not only remind about the rules, but also help build an atmosphere of trust, involve students in dialogue, help them better understand their rights and responsibilities, and facilitate their social adaptation and integration into life in another country.
"Belarusfilm" – A Place for Filmmaking
On December 1, 2025, students from the FMS preparatory department visited an exciting tour of the "Belarusfilm" film studio. This event turned out to be a true highlight, unveiling the world of cinema.
During the tour, participants learned about new films produced at the studio that will soon be released. The staff's storytelling was captivating, and everyone listened with interest to the plots and the process of creating these cinematic works.
Then the group visited the museum, where one of the most remarkable exhibits was a jacket from the children's animated film "Buratino." This symbol of childhood memories immediately attracted everyone's attention. After that, the students went to the filming pavilions, where they saw the equipment used for movie-making. The staff discussed the process of working on various projects, including the popular show "X-Factor," and the listeners even had a chance to stand on the "X-Factor" stage.
A special moment was the viewing of a vast amount of props from famous films. Participants could hold various items and even take photos in armor from the movie "Anastasia Sluckaya." It was a real adventure, as many had dreamed of stepping behind the scenes of cinema.
By the end of the tour, everyone had vivid impressions. Each person got to see the world of cinema from the inside and was inspired to come up with new creative ideas. This experience will be remembered for a long time, and some even felt the desire to try their hand at filmmaking.

24.11.2025 ICF students visited the Minsk Zoo.
The students learned about the birds and animals of Belarus, including the symbols of our country, the stork and the bison, and also saw exotic animals. The discussion about which animals are found in their home countries (Israel, Turkey, China, Turkmenistan, and Zimbabwe) brought the students closer together, as they will be studying together for the next year.
The students expanded their vocabulary with new words and practiced speaking in situations such as «riding in a vehicle», «buying a ticket at the ticket office», and so on. They also enjoyed the first snowfall, played a little snowball fight, got to know each other better, and explored parts of the city they had never visited before.

On November 19, 2025, an important and useful meeting dedicated to women's health was held in the main building. Gynecologists from the 33rd city polyclinic were invited to the event, who held a conversation with foreign students of our university.
The doctors shared practical recommendations for maintaining health, talked about available medical services and stressed the importance of regular preventive checkups. Particular attention was paid to reproductive health issues and the need for timely access to specialists.
Such meetings are especially important for international students: they help to better navigate the healthcare system in Belarus, learn about the rights and opportunities to receive medical care. During the conversation, the students were able to ask their questions and receive qualified answers.

On 15.11.2025, foreign students visited the «Moscow» Tourist Center, where they learned about the event's interesting program, saw creative workshops, and enjoyed tasting signature tea and sweets.
In addition, a tour of old Minsk was conducted, where students learned the history of this place and saw beautiful places. The children were also introduced to the history of the Trinity suburb.

The film is filled with emotion and demonstrates the importance of supporting and understanding children, especially those going through difficult times.
After watching the film, the students noted that "Klassnaya" left a lasting impression on them due to its purity and light. The film combines elements of drama and inspiration, allowing viewers not only to empathize with the characters but also to reflect on important life values. On November 5, 2025, foreign students from Turkmenistan participated in the International Memorial Watch, which took place on the eve of the national holiday of the October Revolution.
The students visited Victory Square, laid flowers at the Victory Monument, and learned about the traditions associated with the celebration of the October Revolution in the Republic of Belarus.
Turkmen students met with participants of the International Memorial Watch from the Russian Federation and took joint commemorative photos. The participation of foreign students in this event became a symbol of the unity of generations and nations in their desire to preserve the memory of the heroic past.

From 29.10 to 30.10, the «StudIntensive 2.0» forum was held, organized by the Student Council of BNTU. The participants from the FMS were the Chairman of the Student Council of the ICF, Polina Khokhlova, and the Deputy Chairman of the Student Council of the ICF, Annetta Rakhmedova.
The event began in the main building with the first intensive, aimed at developing the participants' leadership skills. After that, the students went on a tour of the Minsk Tractor Plant, where they learned many interesting details about the production of tractors.
The main part of the forum was held at the Polytechnic student sanatorium-preventorium. There, the participants went to the second intensive, which was held in the form of a psychological training, where the guys managed to work in a team, build models of buildings and get to know each other better.
The program also included intellectual games, such as «QUIZ TIME BNTU», «Field of Trade Union Miracles» and a fiery disco in the evening, where they chose the king and queen of the dance floor.

Attending the ballet was not just a language lesson for the students, but an opportunity to experience emotions that do not require translation: love, betrayal, sorrow, and forgiveness.

The students also visited the driver's cabin, where they saw how the train was controlled and learned about the mechanisms and equipment that ensure the safe and efficient operation of the metro. The tour guides provided detailed information about the ventilation systems, alarms, automatic traffic control, and other engineering solutions used in the metro.

The event was attended by representatives of the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, the City Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the 33rd City Student Polyclinic. They provided detailed information about the rules for staying in the country, emergency procedures, and medical assistance options.
BNTU staff also prepared presentations: Belaya E.V., head of the Department of Artistic Creativity at the DCA of BNTU, presented to students the university's cultural initiatives, creative circles and events in which they can participate; senior lecturer at the STF Borovok O.A. told about sports sections and competitions available to all comers; head of the socio-pedagogical and psychological service Pylinskaya N..A. explained to the children where to turn for psychological support and stressed the importance of social adaptation in a new environment; representatives of the communities of Russia and Turkmenistan Skipor M.I. and Sapargeldieva G. told about the events and the student council of the Federal Migration Service.

On October 23, as part of the educational work with students, a thematic discussion on the topic «People's Five-Year Plan» was held in the groups.
The event began with a presentation and introductory information on the topic, where students learned about the history of five-year planning, its evolution, and its significance in managing socio-economic processes. The key stages of the development of the planning system were discussed, from the post-war period to the current strategic initiatives of the Republic of Belarus.
To gain a deeper understanding of the topic, the participants watched an informational video on the concept of the People's Five-Year Plan. The video highlighted the goals, directions, and mechanisms for implementing five-year plans, as well as their role in ensuring sustainable development.
After the viewing, the students actively engaged in the discussion. The participants noted the importance of youth participation in the implementation of government strategies and emphasized the significance of fostering civic responsibility. The students actively asked questions, took photos of the production areas, and shared their impressions.
During the tour, the students were able to immerse themselves in the production processes, which included the stages of equipment assembly, allowing everyone present to appreciate the complexity of working at the factory. Many students expressed their surprise at the scale of production and the level of automation. The tour helped them gain a better understanding of how the theory they had learned in the classrooms of BNTU was being applied in real-life situations.
For foreign students, this was not just an introduction to the production process, but also an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Belarus' culture and technological heritage.

17.10.2025 foreign students visited the Autumn Salon exhibition at the Palace of Arts.
On October 17, 2025, ICF students attended the Autumn Salon with Belgazprombank exhibition, which is one of the most significant art events of the year.
«Autumn Salon» is the largest exhibition-sale of works by young Belarusian artists, which has been held since 2015. This year, the exhibition included more than 450 works by 210 artists, selected by a professional jury from over a thousand submissions. Students were able to see paintings, graphics, sculptures, photographs, decorative arts, and installations.
Many of the students were exposed to Belarusian contemporary art for the first time and were impressed by the variety of themes, techniques, and artistic approaches. They were particularly interested in works that explored national motifs, social issues, and experimental forms.
The exhibition demonstrated that art is a universal language that can bring people from different cultures and backgrounds together.
Adaptation and comfort for international students
On October 16, 2025, an organizational meeting was held for international listeners at the preparatory department of the Faculty of International Cooperation at BNTU. The meeting provided detailed information about the necessity of adhering to the rules for staying in the Republic of Belarus.
Key aspects regarding life and study in Belarus were discussed. The students were reminded of the importance of timely registration with migration services, which is crucial for legal residence in the country and obtaining necessary visa services. Attention was also drawn to the internal regulations concerning behavior on the university premises.
Special emphasis was placed on the rules of living in dormitories. The main norms regarding cohabitation, maintaining order, and responsibility for property preservation were outlined. Additionally, the rules of conduct in classes that contribute to a comfortable and productive learning atmosphere were discussed with the listeners.
The staff of the preparatory department also addressed safety issues, providing recommendations for ensuring personal safety and actions in emergency situations. The listeners received useful advice for adapting to life in a new country.
Active participation from the listeners in the discussion highlighted their interest in successful adaptation. This created an atmosphere of mutual assistance, where everyone received the necessary information and recommendations.
The meeting was an important step in integrating international listeners into the educational process and life in Belarus. The staff of the preparatory department emphasized that adherence to rules and norms is key to successful adaptation and comfortable residence in the country.
ICF students at the cleanup event
Chinese students took part in the cleanup of fallen leaves near the ICF building.
Autumn at BNTU is not only a time for studying, but also for doing good deeds. And when the leaves are falling, it's the perfect time to come together and make the world a little cleaner and warmer.
Armed with rakes, bags, and a good mood, Chinese students went out to clean the yard, turning the autumn landscape into a neat and clean area.
Such events strengthen the spirit of unity and create an atmosphere of mutual respect. Additionally, working together allows for better communication.
Mother's Day at the International Cooperation Faculty
Throughout the week, the International Cooperation Faculty held events dedicated to Mother's Day.
On October 14th, a special celebratory evening was held in tutor group 10107421. The event began with an informative session. The students learned that Mother's Day is a holiday with deep historical roots, which has its own unique traditions in every country. The students were surprised to discover how mothers are honored in different parts of the world. This comparison helped them realize that, despite cultural differences, the feeling of gratitude towards one's mother is universal and unites people all over the world.
The theoretical knowledge was immediately put to use in an engaging quiz. The most touching part of the program was the screening of the short film "Mama." This film was filled with simple yet vital life truths and left no one indifferent.
On October 16th, a tutor-led session was held in group 10804622, where students watched an educational video about the origin and history of Mother's Day. After the theoretical part, the students participated in an interactive quiz. A particular point of interest was the discussion of how Mother's Day is celebrated in Belarus and China. The students shared personal observations and cultural characteristics:
In Belarus, the holiday is officially celebrated in October, and it is accompanied by congratulations, school and family events, and expressions of respect and love for mothers.
In China, although Mother's Day is not an official public holiday, it is actively supported by young people and is celebrated in May—most often with gifts, flowers, and family gatherings.
All the events of the week were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reminding us of the importance of a mother's love, care, and support. Such events not only help to broaden one's horizons but also foster respect for family values.
Days of Parental Love
On October 13, a touching event was held to mark Parent's Week. Foreign students were happy to participate in this event, expressing their gratitude to their parents alongside Belarusian students. The event demonstrated that the words «family», «love», and «gratitude» carry the same warmth in all languages.
On October 14, students of the preparatory department attended a festive concert. The program was a true anthem of family and parental love. The concert featured touching songs, poems, and musical compositions that spoke to the essence of family: the importance of support, the selfless love of parents, and the significance of strong family bonds.
The concert reminded the audience of the significance of being grateful to their parents, cherishing the moments spent with their families, and carrying this warmth into their own future families.

Future engineers and economists of BNTU visited the 29th International specialized exhibition «Energy. Ecology. Energy Saving. Electro».
On October 9, international students of the Belarusian National Technical University — first-year students of the Faculty of Transport Communications (FTC), second-year students of the Faculty of Power Engineering Construction (FES) and fourth-year students of the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanities (FTUG) — together with their lecturers O. A. Azyava, I. S. Balabanovich, V. A. Dylenok and D. D. Mityulya, visited the 29th International Specialized Exhibition «Energy. Ecology. Energy Saving. Electro», held within the framework of the 29th Belarusian energy and ecology forum.
The event took place in Minsk, at the Football Manege (20/2 Pobediteley Avenue), and brought together leading domestic and foreign companies operating in the fields of energy, ecology and innovative technologies.
During the exhibition, the students became acquainted with modern solutions in the construction and maintenance of power plants, power supply systems and renewable and alternative energy sources. Particular interest was sparked by the latest models of electric vehicles — from passenger cars to electric trucks and urban transport.
In addition, the future specialists expanded their knowledge about the operation of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant and other national energy projects.
The visit became a crucial step in the professional development of international students. Many of them noted that the knowledge and impressions gained during the exhibition would help them in choosing their future career paths and professional growth within their specialties.
The Energy of Knowledge: Foreign Students at the EnergyExpo 2025
On October 9, foreign students from the preparatory department of the Faculty of International Cooperation at BNTU visited the EnergyExpo 2025, which is taking place in Minsk from October 7 to 10. This provided them with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of modern technologies and innovations in the fields of energy and ecology, as well as to enhance their language skills.
During their visit, the students explored exhibits from over 200 participating companies showcasing advancements in energy conservation and environmentally friendly technologies. They learned about modern solutions being applied in the energy sector and gained insights into the trends and challenges facing the industry.
The foreign students participated in various interactive activities offered by different booths. They also visited the BNTU booth, where representatives from the Faculty of Energy discussed the advantages of their specialty and the opportunities available to graduates. The students received informational brochures, which will help them make an informed choice about their future profession.
For the students, the forum became an important part of their educational program, promoting cultural exchange and deepening their understanding of the opportunities in the country where they are studying.

On October 2nd, a group of international students from the preparatory department, with their teacher M.A. Kalinina, visited the National Art Museum and explored the cultural heritage of our country. For many, this was their first experience of immersing themselves in the local art.
The students examined famous landscapes, historical paintings, and ancient icons with great interest, asking questions, sharing their impressions, and drawing parallels with the art of their home countries.
This event clearly demonstrated that a museum is not merely a collection of paintings but a bridge between cultures. It helps to foster young people an openness and respect for the world, culture, and art.
ICF students attended a concert as part of the Days of Perm in Minsk
On September 30, foreign students attended a concert at «Dynamo».
On September 30, 2025, at 6:00 PM, a small but very friendly group of students from group 10401424 of the Faculty of Mathematics and Technology attended a wonderful concert at the «Dinamo» National Olympic Stadium, dedicated to the beneficial cooperation between the Belarusian capital and the renowned Russian city of Perm.
On September 29-30, Perm showcased its rich culture in Minsk. A numbers of interesting events took place, including football matches, live performances by Perm musical groups, and culinary master classes. But the highlight of the celebration was the open concert at «Dinamo» Stadium, where young Belarusian artists captivated the audience with their charisma and incredible talents. The warm atmosphere of the celebration, the grandeur of the stadium, and the festive atmosphere made a huge impression on the students from Turkmenistan.
But the students were especially delighted by the performance of the main guest from Perm, the legendary DJ SMASH. This wonderful event concluded with an incredibly energetic disco, leaving lasting memories in the students' minds. Most importantly, however, they realized the shared cultural space between Belarus and Russia and embraced it, embracing the idea of unity between fraternal peoples.
ICF Students at the International Youth Forum the CIS and EAEU
On October 2, 2025, the National Children's Technology Park hosted the opening of the International Youth Forum of the CIS and EAEU countries, organized to promote youth cooperation and create a shared cultural space.
The program began with performances by creative groups from Belarus. The FMS students read a poem by Yakub Kolas, «My native land», which was translated into Russian, Uzbek, Kazakh, and Tajik. The students, dressed in traditional costumes, used their performance to convey the universal feeling of love for one's homeland, which is understood by everyone, regardless of language.
Special attention in such events is paid to supporting youth initiatives in the field of education, culture and ecology, creating a platform for dialogue between representatives of different countries. The Forum showed: when young people talk about their homeland, culture and the world – they do it sincerely, deeply and with hope. And that means we have a future built on mutual understanding and respect.
Discover the World with ICF: Turkmenistan
On September 30, 2025, a film screening dedicated to the Independence Day of Turkmenistan was held at Dormitory No. 16.
The students chose the film "Söÿgi hakynda däl" ("Not About Love"). This is not just a story about one person, but a reflection on Turkmen culture, values, and modernity, told through the lens of personal choices. The film does not provide ready-made answers, but rather raises questions that remain relevant across time and borders.
This is a story about choices, inner struggles, and the search for meaning, where love is not the goal, but rather the backdrop for deeper conflicts. The protagonist faces a moral dilemma: should he follow his heart or fulfill his duty to his family and society?
These themes are relevant and provoke much reflection and discussion.
Career guidance from teachers of the ICF
On September 25, 2025, Gymnasium No. 8 in Minsk hosted a career guidance presentation for 10th and 11th grade students. The event was part of the informational and educational campaign «BNTU – A University of Opportunities», aimed at introducing senior students to academic programs, fields of study, and career prospects at the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU).
The presentation was conducted by ICF educators Mityulya D.D. and Dylenok V.A., who provided detailed insights into the university’s structure, faculties, admission requirements, student life, and professional development opportunities. Special attention was given to modern engineering and technical specialties that are in high demand on the labor market and offer broad prospects for young professionals.
Gymnasium No. 8 is recognized as one of the city’s most progressive educational institutions, where motivated, intelligent, and goal-oriented students pursue their studies. A strong interest in education, a drive for self-development, and a thoughtful approach to career planning are the hallmarks of the students who participated in the event. They actively asked questions about academic tracks, dormitory living, involvement in research projects, and extracurricular activities.

ICF on «PolyQuest»
On 25.09.2025, BNTU hosted the «PoliQuest» event for first-year students, which is traditionally attended by first-year FMS students.
The purpose of the event was to introduce new students to the university's traditions, features, and history. The quest began in the auditorium, where students were given maps with a route that included key points with tasks.
In order to complete the quest, the first-year students had to use their ingenuity, knowledge, and endurance. During the event, the students were able to form a real team.
We wish our first-year students that they will be able to complete all their tasks with the same enthusiasm throughout the academic year, and that they will always have a team ready to help them!
Discovering Belarus: A Journey into the Heart of Folk Culture
On September 24, foreign students from the preparatory department and Russian language courses of the International Cooperation Faculty at BNTU. Visited the Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life in Ozertsy. This trip provided students not only with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture and traditions of Belarus but also with a unique experience that enhances their language skills.
During the visit, students learned about the architectural features of traditional Belarusian houses, explored the lifestyle and customs of local residents throughout different historical periods.
Particular attention was given to traditional crafts and folk trades represented in the museum. The students were able to see how products made from clay, fabric, and wood were created.
The visit to the museum became an important part of the educational program, promoting cultural exchange and deepening the knowledge about the country where they study. The students noted that such activities help them not only to better understand the culture but also to establish new friendships and friendly relationships with their fellow group members.
ICF at the Department of Culture of BNTU
24.09.2025 ICF students attended the Open Day at the Department of Culture of BNTU.
The students were told about the existing creative groups that any student who plays musical instruments and wants to develop their skills in singing, dancing, and theater can join.
The students were given a short tour of the classrooms where classes and rehearsals are held, and they were also shown a small creative program featuring dance and vocal performances.
The guys were interested in the vibrant and creative life of BNTU, where anyone can express themselves!
ICF students in the Botanical Garden
On September 23rd, 2025, international students of the BNTU Preparatory Department went on an excursion to the Minsk Botanical Garden together with teachers V. A. Kunigel and A. V. Sidorenko. Nature welcomed them with a true golden autumn: bright sunshine, fresh air, and colorful leaves were creating an atmosphere of warmth and joy.
The students have been in Belarus for only three weeks, and for many of them this was their first acquaintance with a real northern autumn. They were delighted by the mild climate, the fresh breezes, and the pleasant weather that make autumn in Minsk especially beautiful and comfortable.
During the walk, the international guests walked along garden alleys, admired crimson maples, golden birches, and evergreens. Many students took the opportunity to capture memorable photos among the bright autumn landscapes, collect beautiful leaves, and share their impressions of changing seasons.
Republican Dictation Dedicated to the Day of National Unity
Cooking workshop for ICF students
On September 12, under the guidance of Professor Kalinina M. a cooking workshop was held to learn about traditional Belarusian dishes. The participants not only learned how to cook, but also embarked on a journey into the depths of Belarusian culture.
The students were very happy to prepare real draniki and kholodnik. During the cooking process, they learned the history of each dish. Through their shared work in the kitchen, the students gained a deeper understanding of the hospitable and warm-hearted nature of the Belarusian people, for whom a shared meal is always a celebration.
This workshop was a vivid example of how cooking can bridge cultural gaps, strengthen friendships, and serve as the most delicious and understandable language of intercultural communication.
Minsk City Day
In celebration of Minsk City Day, Olga Alexandrovna Azyava, a lecturer in the Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages, together with her student group—comprised of Turkmen citizens newly arrived in Belarus—organized a guided tour of Independence Square, one of the most prominent landmarks of the Republic’s capital. The students not only explored the square’s unique architecture but also learned the significance behind its name: it commemorates the independence of the Republic of Belarus, proclaimed in 1991. The square has since become a symbol of sovereignty and national identity.
A particular highlight was the festive installation known as the “Art Candle,” featuring postcard-style views of Minsk. This vibrant art object, created for City Day, brought together images of beloved corners of the capital and became a focal point for both residents and visitors.
During the tour, students also learned about the upcoming national holiday—Day of People’s Unity—which will be celebrated next week, on September 17. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of being united and the historical continuity of the Belarusian people.
The walk took place in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, allowing the international students not only to gain knowledge about the city but also to feel part of its living history.
ICF students on the ceremonial line
On September 1, the first-year students of BNTU held a solemn ceremony to mark the beginning of the new academic year.
FMS students took an active part in the event, while demonstrating their national costumes. Some of the guys were in Belarus for the first time, and participation in the line was an important step for them to integrate into the university environment. The atmosphere was truly festive: flags, smiles, lively communication, and a general feeling of starting something important. Foreign and Belarusian students performed the song «One for All» together, symbolizing the importance of friendship between nations.
For FMS, September 1 is not just the beginning of the academic year, but also the start of new projects, ideas, and joint initiatives that bring together students from different countries in their pursuit of knowledge and mutual understanding. We wish our students success in the new academic year!
Ceremonial Assembly at BNTU unites students from around the world
On Monday, September 1st, a traditional ceremonial assembly dedicated to the start of the new academic year was held at the stadium of the Belarusian National Technical University. A distinctive feature of this celebration of knowledge was the vibrant and multinational participation of students from the Faculty of International Cooperation.
The beginning of the event was marked by the raising of the flag to the sound of the National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus. The Rector of BNTU, Sergei Vasilyevich Kharitonchik, addressed the freshmen and upperclassmen with a welcoming speech. He wished all students perseverance in acquiring new knowledge, creative fulfillment, and emphasized the importance of international cooperation for the university's development.
A colorful part of the event was the participation of international students. Their bright national costumes and sincere smiles created a truly global and friendly atmosphere. Students from China, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Zimbabwe, Congo, and many other countries shared their impressions of studying at one of the leading technical universities in the CIS:
"It is a great honor for us to study at BNSTU. Here, we not only receive a quality education but also find new friends and get acquainted with the rich Belarusian culture. We feel like part of one big family."
Overcoming language barriers
As part of the educational process, on August 30, 2025, students from the preparatory department of FIC (Group 10) accompanied by their teacher, Kalinina M.A., took a tour of the iconic places of Minsk.
The tour route was chosen for a reason: it allowed the students not only to improve their language skills, but also to learn about the heroic history of the country.
The first stop on the tour was the monument on Victory Square, where the students learned about the heroic deeds of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War. The group then visited Maxim Gorky Central Park. The students walked along the alleys, appreciated the variety of attractions, and socialized in an informal setting.
It is important to note that the entire tour was accompanied by commentary in Russian. This helped to overcome the language barrier in real life.
The students gained a wealth of new experiences, topics for discussion in their Russian language classes, and most importantly, a deeper understanding of the country and its culture.
ICF students at the Museum of the Great Patriotic War
On 29 August 2025, foreign students, together with educators V.A. Dylenok, D.D. Mityulya and A.S. Efimenko visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.
The excursion was timed to coincide with the opening of the photo exhibition «Remembering the Past, Creating the Future», organised by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Belarus in conjunction with the Xinhua News Agency. The exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Chinese people's victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The exhibition includes about 70 rare historical photographs illustrating the heroic struggle and cooperation between the peoples of China and the Soviet Union.
The students listened to the guide with interest and asked questions. Everyone also noted the importance of preserving the memory of the past and strengthening friendship between China and Belarus.
ICF: the campaign «Let's save nature together!»
On August 21, students from the ICF preparatory department took part in the "Save Nature Together!" campaign.
The purpose of the event was to draw attention to the problems of environmental pollution and the importance of separate waste collection. Before the action began, a brief briefing was given to the participants. The audience was told about the global importance of collecting waste paper and explained that recycling paper can save about 10-15 trees, save a huge amount of water and electricity compared to producing paper from primary wood, reduce the amount of waste in landfills, and reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
The students have proven that caring for the environment is not just a word, but a real action. They have become active participants in a large-scale environmental campaign, demonstrating their high level of social responsibility and unity. As a result, our students' contributions will help preserve at least one healthy tree.
Discover the World with ICF
On August 20, 2025, as part of the project «Discover the World with ICF», an entertaining and educational event was held in the Scientific Library of BNTU, dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The event began with a documentary about the country and the most interesting facts associated with it. Then foreign students were offered a quiz consisting of questions about the history, culture, traditions, and peculiarities of Uzbekistan. All participants were divided into teams and discussed the answer options together. The questions were divided into 3 blocks and required knowledge in a variety of areas. The guys noted that the most interesting question was about an Uzbek film nominated for an Oscar and about the national musical instrument dutar, which is found only in this country.
After the quiz, the results were summed up and the winning team was announced and received its prize. The remaining participants were awarded certificates for participation.
The event was held by the ICF together with the faculty student council and the Uzbekistan community. At the end, the hosts announced that the ICF student council now has an Instagram account (@student_fms), where you can follow further events.

ICF: film screening
On July 27, 2025, the Uzbek feature film «Super Daughter-in-Law» was screened at Dormitory 16.
The film tells the story of a young woman who faces cultural differences and expectations and decides to embrace Uzbek customs, cuisine, and family traditions in order to become the "perfect daughter-in-law." The film explores themes of adaptation, respect for elders, and the importance of family values, Uzbek cuisine, and hospitality, as well as the role of the daughter-in-law in family and social life, with warmth and humor.
Through the character of the main heroine Diana, the audience saw how modern technologies (such as the Internet) can become a tool for learning and respectfully assimilating other cultures. The film sparked a lively discussion about intercultural marriages and the preservation of national identity in the modern world.
The purpose of this film was to promote tolerance, empathy, and cultural awareness among students. It emphasized that respect, openness, and a commitment to understanding are the keys to harmony in any society.
Discover the world with ICF
On July 25, 2025, the Scientific Library of BNTU hosted a cultural event in English titled «Open the Door to Egypt: The Keys to the Pyramids», organized by the ICF and the Student Council in collaboration with the Egyptian Community.
The program was hosted by students from Egypt. The event consisted of two parts: a presentation with interesting and surprising facts about Egypt, as well as a screening of the film «The Ancient Empire of Egypt. Egypt from above the Nile River». The students shared information about the city of Cairo, the most prominent landmarks in Egypt, traditional dishes, their predictions about what Egypt would be like in 2030, and even taught the audience some conversational phrases and words.
The Scientific Library has prepared interesting literature related to the history and development of Egypt for the event, so that students can immerse themselves even more in Egyptian culture if they wish.
This meeting was the first event of the large-scale project «Discover the World with ICF», which aims to introduce students to different countries, their cultural features, and traditions. Through this project, students will be able to make new acquaintances, share their experiences, and learn a lot of new things!
ICF students at Museum «Strana mini»
On July 24, students of the FMS preparatory department, together with the teacher T.A. Yankovskaya, visited the Museum «Strana mini», located in the building of the Palace of Culture of Trade Unions. This museum is a unique place where the whole of Belarus fits into one hall.
For students from China, Israel, and Azerbaijan, this exhibition was a real discovery: interactive models of landmarks allowed them to literally «travel» around the country without leaving the capital, and immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of Belarus.
Thanks to audio guides and 3D glasses, the students were able to listen to a tour in Russian and literally «visit» the landmarks. They saw 22 architectural miniatures of iconic landmarks in Belarus, from Mir and Nesvizh Castles to Belovezhskaya Pushcha and its bison. Interactive elements, such as light effects, moving figures, and animated scenes, helped viewers not only to remember facts, but also to emotionally experience the era and learn about the history of medieval castles and the legends associated with them.
After the tour, the students took part in a photo session in a stylized area decorated as a Belarusian house, which allowed them not only to learn about the everyday life of previous centuries, but also to experience the atmosphere of a traditional Belarusian house.
Visiting the museum helped the foreign students to get acquainted with the rich history of Belarus, to see architectural masterpieces in miniature. Impressed by what they saw, they wanted to travel around the country, read more about its past, and even learn the Belarusian language!
ICF students at «The Book Museum»
On July 24, 2025, students of the preparatory department of the ICF with teachers of the department of «Belarusian and Russian languages» visited «the Book Museum», which is located in the National Library.
Students from Turkmenistan, New Guinea, Zimbabwe, and Cameroon were introduced to the museum's rich collection and received information about the unique books and documents that are artifacts of the Republic of Belarus.
They were particularly interested in books written on ancient papyri and parchment, such as the first printed editions of the Bible by Francysk Skaryna. The students learned about the great humanist during their Russian language classes. Additionally, the students had the opportunity to see numerous gifts from various countries and delegations to the National Library of the Republic of Belarus.

22.07.2025 the teacher of the Department of «Belarusian and Russian languages» Karavay I.V. held an excursion for the guys studying at the preparatory department of FMS.
The tour started with the architectural and sculptural complex «Minsk – Hero City». This complex is one of the most significant memorials in the capital. It is dedicated to the heroism of Minsk residents during the Great Patriotic War and includes a monumental stele, Eternal Flame and the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.
Next, the students headed to the park, where they were able to taste fragrant Belarusian thyme tea, as well as red and black currant berries, in one of the gazebos. After a short rest, the students reached the abstract sculpture «The Road to the Future». This is not just an art object, but a profound metaphor for the historical path of Belarus, created by sculptor Pavel Voynitsky. The mirror-like surface of the structure literally reflects the present, allowing each viewer to see themselves on «The Road to the Future».
After that, the students visited a rescue station and a dam. The final part of the tour was a visit to one of Minsk's most beautiful fountains.
During the tour, the students learned and practiced new Russian words, such as apple tree, linden, poplar, cherry plum, thyme, red and black currant.
These activities not only promote language adaptation but also foster a sense of cultural engagement among the students. Foreign students not only learned about Minsk's historical and natural attractions, but also expanded their vocabulary by practicing new Russian words in real-life situations.

On July 3, 2025, Belarus celebrates Independence Day, another anniversary of the Liberation of its capital from the Nazi invaders. Traditionally, this day is accompanied by large-scale festivities and events held at various venues across Minsk.
The staff of the "Belarusian and Russian Languages" Department of the Faculty of International Cooperation took part in the nationwide campaign "Let’s Sing the Anthem Together!" which was held throughout the country.
Professors, students, and postgraduate students enjoyed a wonderful concert and joined in singing the national anthem at the square near the National Library of Belarus.

Tea for World Harmony
On May 31st, a vibrant festival called “Tea for World Harmony” took place at Freedom Square. This event was dedicated to the International Tea Day. The organizers of the festival were the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus, and the Minsk City Executive Committee.
Staff, professors, and students of BNTU visited the “Tea for World Harmony” festival to enjoy the taste of tea and learn about China’s folk traditions and customs. Throughout the day, guests were treated with traditional Eastern dishes. They actively participated in various master classes and competitions.
The fiery performances of Chinese and Belarusian artistic groups during the concert program left no one indifferent.
Trip to the Minsk ZOO
At the end of May, students from the Preparatory Department and the first-year students of ICF of the Belarusian National Technical University visited the Minsk Zoo. This trip became a significant event in both the educational and personal development of the international students. For those in the Preparatory Department who are just beginning to learn Russian, the excursion was a true discovery. It was first time they've heard the names of animals in a real-life context: bear, lion, tiger, parrot, raccoon, peacock, crocodile, ostrich — all these words were not just memorized but associated directly with the animals they saw, provoking genuine emotional reactions. This live communication, sparked by sincere interest, greatly accelerated vocabulary acquisition and helped students to overcome the language barrier.
The first-year students, who are continuing their Russian language studies, took an active part in the excursion. They supported the beginners, suggested the right words, and even shared interesting facts about the animals. This experience boosted confidence in their language skills and helped them to develop communication abilities in a real-language environment. Observing animals together, discussing what they saw, and simply engaging in informal conversation created an atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding among students of different language levels.
Interaction with nature sparked interest in ecology, animal protection, and responsibility for the environment. The trip played an important role in helping international students adapt in new country. Shared experiences, photos, and new friendships helped them feel like part of a united student community. The excursion to the Minsk Zoo clearly demonstrated how effectively language learning can be combined with vivid experiences, communication, and cultural development. On that day, Russian became not just a subject to study, but a true means of communication, understanding, and friendship
Blooming Belarus through the eyes of the foreigners: excursion to the Botanical Garden
In May 2025, foreign students studying at BNTU and students of preparatory department together with their teachers, visited one of the most picturesque parts of the city of Minsk — the Botanical Garden. For many of them, this was their first acquaintance with the local flora, and some of them saw rare plants for the first time that are not found in their native countries.
The blooming collection of rhododendrons and lilacs attracted the special attention of the students.
The students learned about the diversity of flora represented in the garden and how different plants adapt to their environment. The students were amazed by the beauty of the flowering plants and the extraordinary shapes of the trees.
"I didn't even know that so many exotic plants are grown in Belarus. I especially liked the cherry blossoms and irises," said a student from China.

From mechanism to masterpiece : international students at the Luch Museum of Watchmaking
On May 30, foreign first -year students and foreign students of the preparatory department, together with teachers V.A. Kunigel and A.V. Sidorenko, visited the Watchmaking Museum “Luch”. During the tour, students learned about the main stages of watch development and saw amazing exhibits reflecting the history and evolution of watchmaking. Through archival photographs, students learned about the first watchmakers and their work at the Minsk Watch Factory.
The students were particularly impressed by the interactive exhibit: the watchmaker's table, where the first models of watches were assembled . With the help of a high-precision microscope, the students were able to see the smallest details in the clockwork.
"I never thought that there were so many details inside the watch! - said a student from Turkmenistan. "Now I appreciate the work of the masters even more."
Visiting the watchmaking museum left vivid impressions among international students. They not only got acquainted with the history of Belarusian watchmaking, but also had the opportunity to experience true craftsmanship.

ICF students at the International Youth Forum "Friendship Without Borders"
From May 21 to May 23, 2025, the Zubrenok National Research Center hosts the Friendship Without Borders International Youth Forum, which brought together talented youth from 13 countries. The forum participants participate in educational trainings, master classes and cultural events, discuss topical issues of youth policy, and present their projects.
Our students, who actively participate in the events of the forum, express their gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to share their experiences, get to know guys from other countries and participate in significant international initiatives.
Anetta Rakhmedova, Turkmenistan: "The Friendship Without Borders International Forum has become for us not only a source of new knowledge and acquaintances, but also a reminder that peace is possible only through mutual understanding and friendship. I especially remember the concert of young Belarusian performers. There are also interesting dialogue platforms "Youth parliamentarism: a modern view" and "Working in the media space, or how neural networks help to run social networks." I hope that such events will be held more often, because they lay the foundation for our future, where intercultural cooperation is the main thing."
The Friendship Without Borders Forum is an important platform for developing youth cooperation and strengthening international relations.

Wisdom of the Nations of the World
On May 20, 2025 in the assembly hall of the 11a building of the BNTU, the Russian Language Olympiad for foreign citizens ended with a grand gala concert and an award ceremony for the winners. This year, all participants were offered a very interesting cultural and philosophical theme "Wisdom of the Nations of the World".
The Russian Language Olympic Marathon started in April, it included two main rounds, which allowed to determine the best experts in Russian as a foreign language.
In the first round, participants were asked to write a summary or essay on the topic of the Olympiad.
The second round is a creative task, according to the terms of which the contestants had to recite a poem or prose excerpt from any author in Russian, accompanied by a video or presentation. The selected work also had to correspond to the general theme of the Olympiad and talk about the philosophy and wisdom of different peoples of the world.
The Olympiad was attended by students of the preparatory department, foreign students representing the faculties of our university, and graduate students, including those studying in English.
It is also worth noting the worthy online participation of students from Uzbekistan and China in the written and oral rounds of the Olympiad, which was assessed by the jury.
The program of the gala concert was compiled from the creative numbers prepared for the second round of the Olympiad. We wanted beautiful poems filled with intonation and energy of love for the Russian word to sound from the stage and give a holiday to everyone who studies Russian at BNTU, and we succeeded!
A wonderful gift for all spectators was the performance of a dance group of Chinese students and a Belarusian folk choir.
An incendiary song medley from students from Zimbabwe left no one indifferent! The hosts of the concert introduced each participant of the concert program with a special sincere mood, and the prizes and certificates prepared by the Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages will remind all participants and prize winners of an unforgettable holiday of the Russian word.

07.05.2025 in the reading room of the Scientific Library of BNTU held a competition ‘Forever in memory’, dedicated to the history of the Great Patriotic War. FMS students also took part in the intellectual competition, demonstrating deep knowledge and sincere interest in preserving historical memory.
In the course of the event, children from Russia and Turkmenistan answered complex questions concerning the key stages of the war, heroes' feats and the significance of the victory for all mankind. The competition, organised in honour of Victory Day, united young people from different countries seeking to better understand historical events and their significance for the modern world.
The ‘Forever in Memory’ competition once again proved that interest in history knows no bounds, and the memory of the Great Patriotic War remains an important part of the modern world.

On May 9th 2025, we commemorate a great event for our people—the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Today, every family carries the memory of those who stood in defense of their homeland, those who never returned from the battlefield, those who suffered in concentration camps, and those who brought closer the Great Victory with their dedicated labor.
On May 5th , Uzbek and Belarusian students from groups 10804322 and 11102224 visited the "October" cinema, where they watched two documentary films dedicated to Victory Day: “Burned Villages” and “Death Camps”.
The first film focuses on the tragic fate of Belarusian villages that were destroyed by fascist invaders during the Great Patriotic War. The creators of the film pulled from archive testimonies of surviving witnesses, documents, and footage that allowed a full reconstruction of those horrific events. The documentary “Death Camps” presents facts about the genocide of the Belarusian people by the Nazis. During the war, more than 560 concentration camps existed in Belarus, where hundreds of thousands of civilians were tortured and exterminated.
The filmmakers reminded viewers that Belarus lost one third of its citizens during this devastating war. The fascists burned people alive in houses and barns, sent them to gas chambers, and executed them.
Students came to understand that these documentary films are not only a tribute to those who perished but also a warning against allowing such tragedies to ever happen again. They serve as a reminder of the price of peace and the necessity of preserving historical truth for future generations.
Students from Zimbabwe and China discover the treasures of the National Library
On April 25th , students from Preparatory Department No. 8 of Zimbabwe and China, together with their teacher, Filimonova Anna, became active participants in the annual event "Library Night 2025." This initiative was a part of the national sociocultural campaign "Unity Marathon," during which they visited the National Library of the Republic of Belarus. The event allowed students to explore unique exhibits and immerse themselves in the world of history and culture in an unusual evening atmosphere.
The yearly "Museum Night" program at the National Library was packed with diverse activities, ranging from thematic excursions and masterclasses to concerts and interactive exhibitions. The students fully enjoyed the broad spectrum of presented activities.
Exhibition of rare manuscripts, a calligraphy workshop, and an opportunity to practice Belarusian dance sparked particular interest. According to the students from China and Zimbabwe, they were given a chance to witness firsthand the history of the Belarusian people, along with valuable artifacts from past centuries.
"Museum Night" at the National Library turned out to be not only an entertaining event but also an educational experience that broadened students' horizons and ignited their interest in.
The decisive goal
On April 15, a football match between the youth teams of Kazakhstan and China U-16 took place at the stadium of the Academy of Minsk "Dynamo" as part of the UEFA development tournament. Chinese graduate students of the sports and technical faculty could not stay away and decided to support their home team from the stands. The match turned out to be tense and exciting, the guys' joy knew no bounds when in the 18th minute a Chinese footballer scored the first and only goal into the opponent's goal, bringing victory to the Chinese team.

The solemn meeting
On April 30, a solemn rally dedicated to Victory Banner Day was held on Victory Square. On this day exactly 80 years ago, Soviet soldiers Mikhail Egorov and Meliton Kantaria raised the victory banner over the defeated Reichstag in Berlin. In memory of the great event, 1st-year Turkmen students of the Faculty of Economics gr. 10607224 and MSF gr. 10302324 with curators Eroshevich A.V. and Makarenko N. L. took part in a rally dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the hoisting of the Victory Banner over the Reichstag and laid flowers at the Victory monument.
Russian Language Video Contest
In February – April of this year, the XIII Republican Russian Language Video Contest for international students "LET'S DISCUSS" was held at the Belarusian State University.
The competition was attended by students of preparatory departments, undergraduates and postgraduates studying Russian as a foreign language at universities in Belarus and abroad. Creative dialogues were presented by participants from 18 countries, including China, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Mongolia, Palestine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Syria and African countries.
The contestants chose different topics for dialogue, such as "Agrarians of all countries unite", "Personal growth", "What surprises me in Belarus", "Culinary special forces", "Interview: a foreigner in Belarus", "Lake Naroch", "Nothing is forgotten, no one is forgotten" and others.
Our students, Bach Sekanin Ivan Bonaventure (FITR, 4th year, Ivory Coast) and Izebeafe–Abache Treasure Anurim (MSF, 1st year, Nigeria), became diploma winners in the nomination "For the originality of the presentation of the topic and the love of grammar." The International Cooperation Faculty is the winner of basketball competitions among men's teams within the framework of the BNTU Students' Spartakiad
In the period from 03/24/2025 to 04/23/2025, basketball competitions were held at the BNTU Sports and Technical Faculty (STF) as part of the BNTU Spartakiad, in which the strongest basketball players from 17 BNTU faculties took part.
The Faculty of International Cooperation was represented by a team of 11 Chinese students, whose coach and official representative at the Spartakiad was Anton Vladimirovich Lashuk, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education of the STF BNTU, and his assistant was Wang Yuan.
The FMS team played 5 games, in each of them a landslide victory was won. It should be noted that the most difficult match took place with the winner of the BNTU 2024 Spartakiad, the national team of the Faculty of Technology and Humanitarianism.

Easter in the Botanical garden
Students from the STF and preparatory department immersed themselves in festive Easter atmosphere by visiting Central Botanical Garden. There, nature unfolded breathtaking landscape before them—delicate cherry blossoms swayed in the gentle spring breeze, creating impression of a true fairy tale. For many, this was their first encounter with this remarkable tree, and witnessing its peak bloom left them deeply inspired. They captured these enchanting moments in photographs to share a piece of Belarusian spring with their families.
The Botanical Garden is renowned not only for its blooming alleys but also for its majestic greenhouse, filled to the brim with exotic plants and fascinating creatures. Students watched in awe as vibrant Japanese Koi glided gracefully through the crystal-clear waters. Students also witnessed turtles peacefully relaxing under the warm sun, and heard extraordinary parrots filling the air with their lively songs, adding a colorful touch to the surroundings.
After a refreshing stroll, the students settled down for a cozy picnic, enjoying the warmth of spring, the fragrance of blossoming trees, and friendly atmosphere. This day was not only an opportunity to explore the beauty of Belarusian nature but also a chance to experience unity, renewal, and the anticipation of Easter’s bright joy. To celebrate their diverse cultures, students brought traditional dishes from their home countries: Turkmen students shared manti, while Chinese students delighted everyone with sweet and sour beef. They all had a chance to taste the traditional Easter cake and enjoy the playful sound of painted eggs knocking together. The picnic turned out to be a wonderful gathering filled with warmth and friendship.
Easter Minsk
Easter, or the Resurrection of Christ, is one of the most significant religious holidays in Eastern Slavic culture and across the Christian world. The holiday is celebrated annually from April 4th to 8th of May and has a deep spiritual meaning. In anticipation of this bright holiday, international students of the preparatory department at BNTU immersed themselves in learning about Belarusian Easter traditions. As a part of their Russian language course, they explored national and religious holidays of Belarus, learned about the meaning of Easter, symbols, and traditions of festive preparations. Interestingly enough, in 2025, both Catholics and Orthodox Christians will celebrate Easter on the same day—April 20th —a rather rare occurrence.
The week before Easter is a special time. During Holy Week, people feel the arrival of spring and anticipate the joy of Christ's victory over death. It is a time when striving for true values—kindness, love, mutual support, and faith—becomes especially important. International students of the preparatory department together with their teachers did not stand aside. They took part in a walking tour called "Easter Minsk," enjoying the bright spring sunshine. This tour made them realize why people hurry to churches with baskets, why their homes will soon be filled with the warmth of smiles from loved ones and sound of painted eggs knocking together.
While strolling through the streets of Upper Town and crowded market counters, students admired the culinary masterpieces—ranging from festive Easter cakes to the traditional pyramid-shaped cottage cheese desserts. They also marveled at holiday souvenirs and gifts. The highlight of this tour was the visit to the Archcathedral Church of the Most Holy Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit Cathedral, where students witnessed the blessing of festive meals amid the lively pre-holiday atmosphere.
The encounter with Easter traditions became not only an educational experience for the students but also an opportunity to feel the vibrant pulse of culture, as well as the spirit of goodness, spring renewal, unity, and the bright joy that Easter brings to Belarusians year after year.
First Step to Victory: FIC Debut at the "Best Group of BNTU" Competition
The annual "Best Group" competition at the Belarusian National Technical University has finished, and this year’s event was marked by the remarkable debut of Chinese students from the Faculty of International Cooperation. Participating for the first time, the students faced not only the challenge of showcasing their talents but also overcoming language and cultural barriers while competing against Belarusian teams. The three stages of the competition—intellectual, athletic, and creative—tested their teamwork, knowledge, and creativity.
The first stage was a quiz covering Belarusian history, science, and culture. For the Chinese students, this round proved particularly challenging due to language nuances and the specifics of local traditions. Despite these hurdles, they excelled in technical disciplines, where their academic training shone through.
In the second round, participants competed in relays and team games. The Chinese team occasionally encountered unfamiliar task formats but compensated with discipline and mutual support. Their determination and collaborative spirit turned even setbacks into moments of camaraderie.
The final act was the creative competition. The Chinese students presented a musical performance, singing a song in Chinese. Their traditional costumes and choreography beautifully complemented the performance, creating a vivid portrayal of traditional Chinese art. The blend of melody, movement, and cultural symbolism left a lasting impression on the audience.
Though the victory went to a Belarusian team, the Chinese students gained valuable experience and countless memories.
The Faculty of International Cooperation continues to strengthen cross-cultural ties, and the Chinese students’ participation in the "Best Group" competition marked a significant milestone in this journey.
The debut of the Chinese team proved that even in competition, friendship and mutual understanding remain paramount. While new challenges lie ahead, the first step toward success has already been taken.

Grazia International Competition
A BNTU student won the title of "Mr. Photo" in the sixth Grazia International open competition in Vitebsk.
From March 24 to March 28, Vitebsk hosted the VI Open Competition of national cultures, creativity and beauty "Grace Interntional".The past few days have been eventful for seven girls and seven boys from different universities in Belarus. They visited some industrial enterprises, took part in a patriotic action dedicated to the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, took lessons at a dance school and a master class on making coffee, created their own author's cup, went to art meetings and even planted flax seeds.
In the final, which took place in the Vitebsk Concert Hall, the contestants demonstrated their creative and oratorical abilities, tried to present the culture of their country in an interesting and original way.
The Belarusian National Technical University was presented by Davron Mirzaev, a student from Uzbekistan. On an important competition day, representatives of BNTU, headed by Rector Sergey Kharitonchik, came to support Davron.
Following the results of the competition, BNTU student Davron Mirzaev won the Mr. Photo nomination, and we congratulate him on this, and wish him further success and victories!
March 22: Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Khatyn Tragedy
March 22 holds a special place in Belarus as a day dedicated to honoring the memory of the victims of the Khatyn tragedy. On this day, 82 years ago, in 1943, the village of Khatyn was burned down by fascist occupiers, and its residents became victims of a brutal crime.
A symbolic event took place at the Victory Square in Minsk. Students from the Belarusian National Technical University, along with international students, gathered to lay flowers at the Victory Monument. This act of remembrance aimed to pay tribute to victims and demonstrate respect and support for the national historical memory. The ceremony featured an honor guard, which added solemnity and significance to the occasion.
The flowers laid at the Victory Monument became a symbol of grief and remembrance, as well as a sorrowful reminder of why it is important to preserve peace and restrain from violence and hatred. For the international students, participating in this event was not only an opportunity to express solidarity with Belarusian people but also a chance to learn more about the history of the country where they study in.
A moment of silence prompted all attendees to reflect on the importance of preserving historical memory and continuing efforts to foster tolerance, mutual understanding and peace. The Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Khatyn Tragedy continues to unite people of different generations and nationalities, highlighting the need to safeguard history so that the tragedies of the past are never repeated.
This event became a significant occasion for both Belarusian students and international participants, proving that memory unites, regardless of culture or origin.

Khatyn… This word strikes pain in the heart of everyone who learns about the tragedy. The bells of Khatyn sound like a narrative, narrating, shaping national memory and identity, making the past a part of modern consciousness. The sound of the bells of Khatyn resonates not only in the hearts of Belarusians…
—When I learned about the tragedy that occurred on March 22, 1943 in the Belarusian village of Khatyn, I was shocked," says Zeynep Rozmedova, a 2nd—year Turkmen student at the PSF. — Our curator told us that on the territory of the Khatyn memorial complex there is the only Village Cemetery in the world, where urns with earth of those burned along with the inhabitants of Belarusian villages are buried.… This is a shock to me... our group has not been to Khatyn yet, but we will definitely go there to kneel before the ashes of the innocent victims... and today we brought flowers here, to the Victory Monument. My compatriots also fought against fascism. About 180,000 Turkmens went to the front then, and almost 100,000 sons and daughters of my people paid for the victory with their lives. Books without Borders: Inspiration of BNTU international students at the International Book Fair in Minsk
On March 16, international students of the Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarianization attended the XXXII Minsk International Book Fair. This event has become a real celebration for lovers of literature and culture, as well as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience.
This year, about 20 countries took part in the fair, especially international students liked the stands of countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, Cuba and China. In addition, the stands dedicated to the Great Patriotic War aroused great interest. Books, documents, photographs and multimedia materials about those times were presented at the stands. Many of them had not previously had a deep understanding of the Great Patriotic War, and the exhibition became a unique opportunity for them to learn more about the historical events of our country.

Unity in memory: BNTU international students at the flower-laying ceremony at the monument to the Great Victory
The annual flower-laying ceremony at the Great Victory Monument on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day has become a tradition for BNTU international students. This year, they participated in the ceremony along with students and school staff. Citizens of Palestine, Egypt, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan bowed to the heroes together with Belarusian students under the BNTU flag. Each of these countries has its own heroic history, and each of the foreigners who came here once again felt in their hearts how important it is to remember the tragic events of their country, how they are intertwined in the context of the history of all countries of the world, how important it is to honor their memory in order to understand what makes up your own present.
ICF on Health Day
On Saturday, February 22, 2025, on the eve of the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, the university hosted the annual sports festival "BNTU Health Day". Competitions were held in four directions: darts, biathlon, basketball and tug of war. Employees and students of the Federal Migration Service took an active part in all types of competitions and spent time with health benefits. Thanks to the participants!
International Mother Language Day: Minsk – Tashkent
Every year on February 21, the International Mother Tongue Day is celebrated all over the world.
At the invitation of Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov, the Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages of the Federal Migration Service took part in a festive event dedicated to this day (online, through the Zoom platform).
The meeting room of the BNTU Academic Council was filled with Belarusian students (groups ATF 17124, EF 08123, SF 01424, PSF11123), foreign students and undergraduates. The Dean of the International Cooperation Faculty, P.I. Shirvel, and the faculty of the department were present.
At the opening of the event, the vice-rector of BNTU, Y.I. Nikolaichik, and the head of the Department of International Cooperation and Protocol of TSTU, U.V. Mannanov, exchanged welcoming words. In their speeches, they noted the important role of the mother tongue in the life of each ethnic group, emphasized the need to support endangered languages, and thanked each other for the fruitful cooperation between BNTU and TSTU.
The speeches of the guests of the event were vivid and informative – the chairman of the Belarusian cultural center "Svitanak" in Uzbekistan, G.A. Tatarenko, and the chairman of the Russian cultural center in Uzbekistan, S.A. Mironov.
The literary and musical program included musical performances by representatives of cultural centers, ethnic music, and folk dances. Demonstrating folk traditions through language, the students of I.Karimov TSTU made presentations, read poetry and sang songs in different languages.
BNTU teachers and students prepared a presentation, during which a short introduction to the rules of reading in Belarusian took place, as a result of which the Uzbek audience demonstrated the ability to read and understand the text in Belarusian. Our students read poems by Yanka Kupala, Maxim Tank, Rygor Borodulin, Lidia Polozova, Petrus Brovka, Neil Gilevich dedicated to their native language. Russian Russian and Belarusian Uzbek students and undergraduates of the BNTU Academy of Sciences read Yakub Kolas's poem "To Uzbekistan" in Uzbek, Russian and Belarusian languages, and a video clip of excerpts from his poems in Belarusian and Russian, filmed near the bust of our famous poet on the Tashkent street bearing his name, was shown from Tashkent. "My dear kut..." sounded in Belarusian in the center of the Uzbek capital!
Of course, the event was very intense, interesting and did not leave anyone indifferent. Many thanks to our Uzbek colleagues for preparing such an event and inviting us to participate in it! We hope for further cooperation!
Meeting on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day
On February 20, on the eve of the Defender of the Fatherland Day holiday, 2nd-year students of the FITR group 10702523, together with the curator T.S. Makatrova, visited the Knigarnya store, where they got acquainted with the presented books on various topics with interest. Then the girls presented the children with pre-prepared souvenirs for the holiday. The meeting ended with a tea party with a cake, which was lovingly baked by one of the students, as well as pleasant communication.

On February 20, the Republican Boarding School for War and Labor Veterans, located in the agro-town of Zhdanovichi, hosted a concert dedicated to the upcoming holiday - Defender of the Fatherland Day!
The concert was attended by BNTU students who performed lyrical and soulful songs that are familiar to every veteran in the audience.
One of the speakers was FMS student Jiang Hao, who sang a song in Chinese. This number has become a real symbol of friendship and cultural exchange between nations.
After the concert, everyone was waiting for a tea party and guitar songs continued!
At the end of the event, the veterans expressed their gratitude to the students and the organizers for the emotions and kind words.

The FMS team at the swimming competition On November 23, 2022, a swimming competition was held at the BNTU swimming pool. This year, not only students from all BNTU faculties participated in the competition, but also guests – a delegation of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students, as well as faculty from the Saint Petersburg Mining University (SPbSU). The participants had to complete the 50-meter freestyle, 50-meter backstroke, 50-meter butterfly, 50-meter breaststroke, and 4x50-meter freestyle relay. Andijan Machine-Building Institute invites teachers and students of BNTU to take part in the international scientific and practical conference "The role and importance of digital life and social sciences in educating a harmoniously developed generation: modern problems and prospects" , which will be held on April 11-12.
BNTU hosted the first graduation of the English-language master's program
The Belarusian National Technical University places special emphasis on providing educational opportunities for international students and strengthening international cooperation. One of its most successful programs has been the Master's program for students from China. This bilateral cooperation in education strengthens the development potential of both countries, lays the groundwork for joint educational plans, and expands the scope of cooperation.
Following tradition, opening up new opportunities and imparting modern knowledge is the principle that guides the BNTU Department of Economics and Law when organizing master's degree programs in English. During their education, students from China had the opportunity to master both the required subjects of the Economics curriculum and new subjects aimed at gaining modern knowledge in the fields of industrial development, investment project management, international business etiquette, and more. Under the guidance of experienced economists, conducting research on topics relevant to Belarusian-Chinese cooperation has become an integral part of the Master's degree program in Economics. During their studies, master's students had the opportunity to participate in conferences and engage in active student life.
Thus, on March 18, 2022, a group of Chinese graduates successfully completed the second-level English-taught program in Economics at the Department of Economics and Law.
Journey into the past
On March 31, 2022, as part of the Year of Historical Memory, international students from Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) who have achieved significant success in their studies, sports, and creative endeavors visited Nesvizh Castle.
The group was international: students from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Colombia, Iran, Jordan, China, Congo, and Ecuador. All of them had once decided to study in Belarus, at BNTU. Here, students not only gain a profession but also later become "ambassadors" of Belarusian culture and history in their home countries. Therefore, it was crucial that during these few years, the students be able to introduce them to all the interesting places in our beautiful, hospitable country.
The trip was fun and interesting. Even the road to Nesvizh offered 90 kilometers of new experiences for the students. Forests, fields, and small villages—all of this is part of the excursion for residents of other countries and continents.
And, of course, the castle! It amazes with its grandeur, and one wants to learn as many interesting stories and legends as possible about this wonderful place.
The students listened to the guides with great interest and asked questions, as many of them had only seen similar structures in pictures and were visiting a real medieval castle for the first time.
Our students learned a wealth of fascinating information about the Radziwills, the wealthiest family in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and visited the halls where, many centuries ago, the castle's owners received guests, hosted balls, and gathered to discuss important state matters.
With their return to Minsk, the students' educational activities are not over. They have meetings with their study groups, their supervisors, and their classmates ahead of them, where they will definitely share photos and their impressions of the trip. Many of them will continue to explore the history of our beautiful, friendly, and open Belarus.
Meeting of international students with representatives of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Sovietsky District Administration of Minsk
On March 30, 2022, a meeting between international students and representatives of the Minsk Sovietsky District Police Department was held in Room 204 of the main building of the Belarusian National Technical University.
During the event, Lieutenant Colonel A.N. Sharmalaikin, Head of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Minsk Sovietsky District Police Department, explained in detail to international students and students of the preparatory department of the Faculty of International Cooperation the importance of adhering to traffic safety regulations. He addressed such key issues as the strict requirement for both drivers and passengers to wear seat belts while driving; he emphasized the categorical prohibition of driving under the influence of alcohol; and he emphasized the liability for drivers who drive without insurance.
The issue of liability for traffic violations by pedestrians and other road users was highlighted.
A.N. Sharmalaikin also answered questions from international students interested in the lecture on the topics discussed above.
Next, Major Yu. L. Drizovsky, Head of the Drug Control and Human Trafficking Prevention Department of the Minsk City Police Department's Sovietsky District Administration, addressed the issues of preventing drug addiction and drug trafficking among international students.
At the same time, international students were warned about criminal liability for crimes against sexual integrity or sexual freedom, as well as against public order and public morality.
Meeting of representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan with foreign students
Today, March 24, 2022, a meeting for international students was held in the assembly hall of the main building of the Belarusian National Technical University. The meeting was attended by Azimjon Alievich Abdullaev, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus; Khajiakbar Dzhuratovich Vakhabov, First Secretary and Consul; Yevgeny Ivanovich Krivorot, Deputy Chief of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Sovietsky District of Minsk; and Major Irina Leonidovna Zholtikova, Senior Inspector of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Sovietsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk.
The Belarusian National Technical University was represented by Yuri Aleksandrovich Nikolaychik, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; Igor Ivanovich Gancherenok, Director of the Belarusian-Uzbek Intersectoral Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications; and Pavel Ivanovich Shirvel, Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation.
Yuri Nikolaychik began the meeting by outlining the plan for the meeting and introducing the guests to the students. Later, Yevgeny Krivorot addressed the students:
"You came to Minsk to receive an education and subsequently contribute to your country. Your studies are comparable to a job that does not allow for irresponsibility. It is essential to manage your time wisely between learning and leisure."
The police lieutenant colonel informed the students about the possible consequences of offenses, which have recently become more common among international students. The meeting continued in the students' native Uzbek language, ensuring everyone felt comfortable. Anyone could ask questions of embassy representatives and receive competent answers. The students were interested in answers to questions about everyday life and their stay in Belarus, as well as the possibility of transferring from one university to another. The meeting hall provided a very welcoming atmosphere for discussing the students' pressing issues. The students also had the opportunity to receive individual consultations from representatives of the embassy and the BNTU administration.
It is worth noting that the Republic of Uzbekistan is a friendly country with which we have established economic, scientific, and educational ties. Engineering is a highly sought-after profession in this country's dynamically developing economy.
The meeting concluded with a farewell speech from representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus. They urged the students to adhere to the university's internal regulations and to strive harder in their studies to successfully graduate from one of Europe's leading technical universities, ranked among the top 1,000 best higher education institutions in the world.
Navruz at BNTU
In ancient times, all the nations of the world celebrated the New Year in March. Surprising, right? After all, for us, New Year's means snow, Christmas trees, and the smell of juicy tangerines, but in reality, it's quite different. However, the explanation is quite simple. Traditions of chronology have evolved differently depending on the country and even continent. For us, New Year begins in early January, in China, it's closer to February, and for the countries of Central Asia, New Year begins today! On the day of the vernal equinox, March 21, Navruz, the festival of the new day, is celebrated.
The Belarusian National Technical University can surprise not only with its scale but also with its multinational nature. During their studies, students learn our traditions and holidays, and in return, they share their own.
A series of events dedicated to the celebration of Navruz were held at the Polytechnic health resort, so that all participants and attendees could fully experience the atmosphere of the Central Asian holiday. But first things first.
Plov was a key component of the holiday. Everyone has probably heard of the unique taste of this national dish. That's why three teams from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan prepared plov for the event's guests using their own recipes.
And while the cooking was in full swing, the Belarusian team offered those present fresh potato pancakes and blini with sour cream.
To learn more about the holiday and its traditions, we spoke with members of the Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan teams.
Navruz is considered a Central Asian holiday and is dedicated to the spring equinox. Many national dishes besides plov are prepared during this time, such as sumalak, a dish made from wheat and its sprouts. Sumalak is a dessert, similar in texture and taste to vanilla cream, only thinner. It is eaten with bread or on its own. Navruz is a family holiday. All relatives, friends, and even neighbors gather around the table. The city is hosting large-scale celebrations featuring folk dancing and singing, and children are flying kites, shared Said, an architecture student and member of the Uzbekistan team.

Miridgul from the Turkmenistan team described Nowruz as the Muslim New Year and spoke in more detail about sumalak, which is called "semeni" in Turkmenistan.
"For Nowruz, we always prepare a lot of flour products, and also plant seeds—wheat grains. They grow for several days. The roots are cut, washed, and blended. Cooking time is about 12 hours, and the finished dish is then shared with friends and neighbors."
To officially launch the event, the distinguished guests and participants gathered at the main building of the sanatorium, where Sergei Kharitonchik, Rector of the Belarusian National Technical University, delivered a welcoming speech.
"Good afternoon, dear students and guests of our celebration today! Thank you for taking the time to attend and participate in our event. Nowruz symbolizes the beginning of spring, the beginning of a new life, the beginning of a new year. We haven't had such a tradition before, but we've always had students from different countries." That's why we decided to organize this celebration—to gather together and experience this wonderful atmosphere.
On this day, it's customary to express the best wishes. I wish you good health, happiness, and successful studies, so that you can carry on our traditions even after completing your studies at the Belarusian National Technical University.

Congratulations to Nargiza Doshimuratova on her awards at Grazia International 2022!
On March 17, the final of the 3rd Open Competition of National Cultures, Creativity, and Beauty, "Grace International - 2022," was held in Vitebsk. It was organized by the Vitebsk Cultural Center with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.
Competing for the title of "Miss Gracia International - 2022," students from Belarusian universities representing seven national cultures—Belarus, China, Congo, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Sri Lanka—vividly showcased their countries' cultural characteristics, spiritual and intellectual qualities, and creative abilities, while introducing the jury and guests to their national cuisine.
Nargiza Doshimuratova, a student from Uzbekistan, represented the Belarusian National Technical University. She impressed the jury with traditional Uzbek dishes in the "National Dish" competition and was awarded in the special category of "Miss Taste Nation - 2022."
Nargiza Doshimuratova's second award was the Audience Choice Award, based on the results of an online vote conducted by the Vitebsk Cultural Center.

Maslenitsa celebrations – farewell to winter!
Maslenitsa is a joyful farewell to winter, complete with games and songs. Even pancakes, an essential part of this holiday, have a special meaning: round and rosy, they symbolize the sun, which shines ever brighter!
Maslenitsa also reached the student village, located on Dzerzhinsky Avenue in the BNTU dormitory. On February 25th, Dormitory No. 18 hosted a fun and delicious party!
The event for international students studying at our university was organized by faculty from the Belarusian and Russian Languages Department of the Federal Migration Service.
Natalia Leonidovna Makarenko, senior lecturer in the department, gave the opening remarks. She discussed the significance of Maslenitsa for the Eastern Slavs, the names of the days of Maslenitsa week, the customary activities on each day, who to invite, and how to treat guests. Pushkin University teachers Zhanna Aleksandrovna and Elena Yuryevna Kazimirchik led a fun riddle game dedicated to Maslenitsa. Students from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Colombia, and China eagerly joined in the celebration, rushing to answer correctly and receiving sweet prizes..
Well, what is Maslenitsa without games and fun?! The head of the department Budko Irina Vladimirovna held several fun games with students: "Edible - inedible", "Third - superfluous". And, of course, everything was accompanied by laughter, smiles, jokes and sweet prizes.
The effigy of Maslenitsa was also present at the celebration. True, we did not burn it: fire safety rules for those living in a hostel come first! But there was a round dance and songs around the smiling solar figurine! There were songs and dances, and even the incendiary "Lyavonikha" performed by teachers and students from Colombia. Those present and participants of the games received a lot of positive emotions.
The holiday ended with fragrant, hot pancakes with sour cream and homemade jam.
The students took many photos and videos and sent them home. Everyone had a great evening at the end of the school week.

Basketball, darts and pull-up competitions among foreign students
On February 23, 2022, competitions among foreign students in darts, basketball and pull-ups were held in the sports complex of the Belarusian National Technical University. Participation could be accepted both in one and in all disciplines. All participants were physically prepared, so the fight for the first, second and third places was tense.
- It is very pleasant that they do not forget about us and hold such competitions, - said Bakhodirov Khasan Zarif Ugli , 3rd year student of the Faculty of Transport Communications. – We hope that soon we will be able to show our strength in competitions with BNTU students.
The competition between the competitors was further intensified by the fact that some of the participants were classmates. However, this didn't stop the boys from demonstrating their full potential and achieving a worthy result.
"Each of the participants is strong. Despite the competition, I was able to win the basketball game, which only brings me positive emotions," said third-year student of the Faculty of Transport Communications, Zhakhongir Bakhodyrov.

A table tennis tournament among foreign students was held.
International students studying at the Belarusian National Technical University are provided with all the necessary conditions for professional growth, as well as creative and athletic development. On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, a table tennis competition among students of the Faculty of International Cooperation (FIC) was held in Building 11b of the Sports and Technical Faculty as part of the month of sports.
International students from Uzbekistan, China, Colombia, Nigeria, and Ghana participated in the event. For several hours, representatives from various countries competed for the championship. The players demonstrated interesting techniques, and the passion for the game was evident in all their actions, and the games played demonstrated that all participants deserved to win.
The winners were: third place – He Lin (preparatory student of the FIC); second place – Bakhodirov Javohirbek Bakhodir ugli (third-year student, Uzbekistan); First place – Chen Liangchao (Master's student, China).

On February 15, 2022, the opening of the annual student Spartakiad took place at Sports Complex No. 1 of the Belarusian National Technical University.
Sport Unites: How BNTU Students from Nine Countries Participated in a Cross-Country Skiing Race
On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, a cross-country skiing race with international students and a skiing master class was held at the BNTU Polytechnic Health Resort. This event was unique in that it brought together over 40 students from our university and the preparatory department from Uzbekistan, Nigeria, Congo, China, Colombia, Turkey, Ecuador, Iran, and Sierra Leone. It was a truly international sporting competition!
The event was organized by the Faculty of Sports and Technology and the Faculty of International Cooperation. Angela Nikolaevna Koltunova, coach of the Belarusian National Technical University's national biathlon and cross-country skiing teams, and summer and winter all-around events, and senior lecturer in the Department of Sports, assisted in teaching the students cross-country skiing skills.
At the master class, Angela Nikolaevna taught the students the basics of skiing, safety precautions, and various skiing techniques. Afterward, the students were treated to a practical test of their newly acquired knowledge: a cross-country ski race was launched on a prepared trail.
Following the cross-country ski race, Abdurokhman from Uzbekistan and Eduardo Roa from Colombia shared their impressions of the master class. The guests were in a great mood, as they genuinely had a lot of fun skiing, and the fact that they fell often made it even more fun. Like many others, the students were skiing for the first time, so they immediately encountered difficulties in maintaining balance.

On January 13, 2022, at a meeting of the Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages of the Faculty of International Cooperation, Irina Vladimirovna Budko, Head of Department, spoke on the topic of "Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus." On New Year's Eve, so many interesting things are happening in the city! International students of the Preparatory Department visited the "Christmas Fair" in December, which took place on Oktyabrskaya Square.
Such celebrations have long been loved by the townspeople, but our international students were new to them. Acquaintance with the cultures and traditions of our country continues!
Minsk Zoo
During the New Year holidays, the head should not be filled with studies! Therefore, teachers always try to provide their beloved students with a wonderful pastime. This time the students of the preparatory faculty visited the Minsk Zoo.
The zoo's collection includes exotic animals and rare representatives of the fauna of Belarus. In 2016, the zoo kept 461 species of animals, including 226 listed in the Red Book. In addition, the Nemo Dolphinarium operates on the territory of the zoo, which we also managed to visit. At the performances in the dolphinarium, they talked about the physiology and characters of dolphins, the peculiarities of their behavior, as well as the need to take care of dolphins and nature in general. The pastime turned out to be not only interesting, but also useful!
Exhibition of Christmas decorations at the National Historical Museum
A group of third-year students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering visited an exhibition of Christmas tree decorations at the National History Museum. The exhibition features decorations from Europe, Asia, Australia, America, and Africa. Among them are vintage Christmas tree decorations from the mid-19th century, Soviet decorations from the mid-20th century, and modern toys from the early 21st century.
The process of producing glass Christmas tree decorations only seems simple at first glance. First, the artist comes up with an idea and draws a sketch. Then, the future Christmas tree decoration is molded from plasticine. At this stage, it's important to determine the size of the decoration, its height, width, and the theme. Next, the figurine is sculpted in plaster and only then blown into glass. A special master prepares the molds for the decorations. The artist personally paints their "Christmas tree child" in three variations and presents the finished product to the factory's artistic council.

Meeting of BNTU international students with employees of the Citizenship and Migration Department and the State Traffic Inspectorate Department of the Sovietsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk
On December 29, 2021 , foreign students of BNTU met with the inspector of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Soviet District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk, Zholtikova Irina Leonidovna and the state traffic inspector of the Soviet District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk, senior lieutenant of militia Nevyarovich Vitaly Gennadievich.
The meeting was organized at the initiative of the Faculty of International Cooperation in order to remind students on the eve of the New Year holidays about responsibility for administrative offenses against public order and public morality, traffic rules, the procedure for opening and extending a visa and processing documents when leaving for the holidays.
International Student Conference "First Step into Science"
On December 21, 2021, the first international student conference "The First Step into Science" was held at the Faculty of International Cooperation, which was attended by foreign students, undergraduates, graduate students, students studying at our university.
The Vice-Rector for Research, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Alexander Mikhailovich Malyarevich and Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Shirvel Pavel Ivanovich delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the conference. The conference participants were also greeted by the head of the Belarusian and Russian languages department, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Irina Vladimirovna Budko, emphasizing in her speech the value and historical significance of education, solidarity and mutual assistance that has reigned among students for centuries, an important social function that has always been performed young people who strive for knowledge and have a huge scientific and creative potential.
As a guest of the conference, the head of the department of the magistracy of the Namangan Civil Engineering Institute (Namangan, Uzbekistan), Doctor of Science, Associate Professor Veronika Vadimovna Abduazizova made a report in which the latest achievements in the methodology of teaching special disciplines of the university profile were presented.
The official part of the plenary session was opened by AF PhD student Zeinab Awada from Lebanon, who in her report presented the image of Lebanon in the Bible, the significance of her homeland and the artifacts located there for the entire Christian world. The next report was the message of Kamolova Shahzoda from Uzbekistan (3rd year PSF) “The image of Uzbekistan in the work of Yakub Kolas”, interesting facts from the biography of the great songwriter about his stay on Uzbek soil during the evacuation, about the kindness and hospitality of the Uzbek people, in conclusion Shahzoda Kamolova read the poems of Yakub Kolas about her homeland. After the floor was taken by the grandson of Yakub Kolas, senior lecturer of the department "Belarusian and Russian languages", the full namesake of his great grandfather, Konstantin Mikhailovich Mitskevich, who shared his family memories of this amazing pearl of Central Asia, read out fragments from the personal correspondence of Yakub Kolas about the difficult military everyday life. The report of a student from Tajikistan, Loikov Ramazon (3rd year of the EF) was devoted to the analysis of the status of the Russian language in his country, the linguistic situation in some cities of Tajikistan. FITR 2nd year student Ghazaleh Mohammad Hassan from Lebanon presented a message about the history of the creation of the Lebanese flag and the deep symbolic meaning of the Lebanese cedar depicted on the national flag. Ruslan Arazklychev, a 3rd year student of the ITF, spoke about the state symbols of Turkmenistan, their history and significance for their people in his report. FITR 2nd year student Ghazaleh Mohammad Hassan from Lebanon presented a message about the history of the creation of the Lebanese flag and the deep symbolic meaning of the Lebanese cedar depicted on the national flag. Ruslan Arazklychev, a 3rd year student of the ITF, spoke about the state symbols of Turkmenistan, their history and significance for their people in his report. A student of the preparatory department for foreign citizens, Ali Alirav Mohamed Eldemerdash, has recently arrived in our country from Egypt, he has been studying Russian for only two months, so he made his report in English. The speaker presented an overview of the development of nuclear energy in the world, the advantages and disadvantages of nuclear energy. All reports were very warmly received by the teachers and students present in the hall.
Exposition "Yakub Kolas and Kazakhstan"
December 22, 2021 The grand opening of a new exposition "Yakub Kolas and Kazakhstan" took place at the State Literary and Memorial Museum of Yakub Kolas. The director of the museum I.V. Matyas, as well as a member of the Union of Writers of Belarus, writer and translator Mikhail Pozdnyakov.
Students from the M.I. Glinka College of Music performed a song with lyrics by Yakub Kolas, "My Homeland." The meeting was attended by cultural workers and representatives of Minsk universities. On December 22, 2021, the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library hosted the presentation of the four-volume Belarusian edition of the epic novel "The Path of Abai" by the great Kazakh and Soviet writer Mukhtar Auezov. This world-famous work has been translated into Belarusian for the first time and was published by order of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Belarus. This event will undoubtedly mark another step in the rapidly developing Belarusian-Kazakh relations in the fields of culture and education..
Representatives of the Faculty of International Cooperation and the Center of the Kazakh Language, History and Culture named after Abay BNTU took part in the presentation.
The event was attended by Mikhail Pozdnyakov - a famous poet, prose writer, translator, critic and publicist, who worked on the translation. Mikhail Pavlovich shared his emotions from the work and surprised those present by the fact that he wrote the translation of all four volumes of the novel on paper by hand.
Thanks to the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Belarus, the book fund of the Center for the Kazakh Language, History and Culture named after Abay BNTU has been replenished with a unique publication in the Belarusian language.

On December 15, 2021, representatives of the Faculty of International Cooperation and the Center for the Kazakh Language, History and Culture named after Abay BNTU visited the opening of an exposition dedicated to the main milestones of the historical development of Kazakhstan. The exhibition is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The staff of the Embassy tried to reflect the whole way of formation of Kazakhstan from ancient times to the present.
“Awareness of the value of this date comes with an analysis of the path that our ancestors traveled, defending their land in wars and struggle, striving to find their own state. But it was we who had the good fortune to live in an independent, sovereign country recognized by the international community,” said Counselor-Envoy of the Embassy K. Aman at the solemn ceremony.
On the same day, the Embassy summed up the results of the essay contest “I am Kazakhstan” among Kazakh students studying in Belarusian universities. The children were invited to present their vision of their future - civil and professional - in the history of modern Kazakhstan, to share their views on the future of their country. The 4th year student of STF BNTU from Kazakhstan Toktar Abzal Kenzhebaiuly took part in the competition.
Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life
On December 18, 2021, 3rd year students of BNTU from Uzbekistan visited the Belarusian State Museum of Folk Architecture and Life in the village. Lake of the Minsk region. The participants of the tour learned about Belarusian crafts, beliefs, fortune-telling on the eve of Christmas.
The village blacksmith told about the secrets of his skill, the local witch tried to predict the future, Domovik advised him to be friends and taught him to dance the Belarusian dance. The participants of the excursion visited the village church and the tavern, learned a lot of useful things about Belarusian household items, raising children and housekeeping 100 years ago.

A group of students of the preparatory department continues to get acquainted with Minsk and its sights. On December 10 we visited the planetarium. The lecture "The Invisible Universe" in French was offered to the attention of the audience.
It was interesting to learn about the revolution in astronomy that has been going on for the last 30 years. This became possible due to the fact that man began to explore the world around him in the entire spectral range - from radio waves to gamma rays.
The lecture was accompanied by a very colorful video sequence.
Then there was a tour of the winter starry sky in Russian using vocabulary familiar to the audience. There was a mysterious and romantic atmosphere in the hall.

On December 8, 2021, the Belarusian-Uzbek Intersectoral Institute of Applied Technical Qualifications hosted an online event dedicated to the national holiday of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Constitution Day of the great, ancient and happy country!”
As the saying goes, "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country."
And today everything has been done so that Uzbek students, 3rd year students of BNTU, can feel the closeness of their country and involvement in the holiday, even when this country is far away.

Students of the preparatory department visited the State Museum of Nature and Ecology of the Republic of Belarus. The exposition of the museum is dedicated to the nature and ecology of the Republic of Belarus.
The permanent exposition consists of 5 halls dedicated to the nature and biodiversity of Belarus.
The students were presented with the exposition "Seasonal changes in the animal world". The exposition is divided into 4 parts, on the example of which one can consider the features of the life of forest dwellers during each season. This material illustrated lexical material on the topic: “Time of the year”.
Colorful dioramas aroused interest among ionophones. I especially liked the movie about bison. These majestic animals did not leave anyone indifferent.

This is the most vital part of the learning process. After all, there is no language without culture, just as there is no culture without language.
So we travel around the city. Here are some of the places we managed to visit in November. And we have a whole academic year ahead of us and many new experiences.
Visit of foreign students to the Museum of the "Great Patriotic War"
On November 25, students of the preparatory department visited the unique and largest repository of relics of the war period 1941-1945 in the Republic of Belarus. - Museum of the Great Patriotic War.
The students became very interested in the events of the Soviet era. They discovered new pages in the history of the Great Patriotic War, imbued with the true courage of our people, who, having overcome all the horrors of the war, were able to defend the freedom and independence of their land, freeing all of Europe from the “brown plague”.
Visiting places of worship is very important and necessary, because it forms a sense of respect for the heroic past of Belarus among foreign citizens, actualizes the knowledge of the younger generation about the Second World War, forms an interest in the rich cultural and historical heritage of our country.
"Latin America far and near" - a photo exhibition of a BNTU student
The Faculty of International Cooperation, in order to actively involve foreign students in the public life of the Belarusian National Technical University, identify talented students, reveal their creative potential, and popularize their creative activity, presents an online exhibition of photographs "Latin America, far and near" by Hector Roa Vargas (born in Colombia) , which will take place in December-January 2021/22 academic year.
For reference: Hector Roa Vargas is a student of the preparatory department, he came to the Republic of Belarus to study for a master's degree in engineering.
Hector's works show a special vision of architectural monuments, modern buildings, technical structures, life and culture of the three countries of Latin America, love for his works, details and complex angles. Photos carry the energy of the author, there is a special atmosphere of sincerity. The exhibition demonstrates the high artistic level of Hector's works, his non-standard vision.
Charity event "The road of kindness and mercy"
In November, the BNTU hosted a charitable action "The Road of Kindness and Mercy". Our foreign students also took part in it. For the Baby House, they bought and brought things necessary for babies 1-3 years old.

“A short course in the history of architecture in Belarus” - an open lecture for foreign students
Education of foreign students at the Belarusian National Technical University, in addition to receiving professional education, provides an opportunity to get acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of the country in which they will spend several years of their lives.
So, on November 20, 2021, a lecture “A short course in the history of architecture in Belarus” was held by the senior lecturer of the Department of Theory and History of Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture I. N. Ozheshkovskaya, dedicated to the most striking architectural styles. Thanks to the presentation accompanying the lecture, foreign students of the Faculty of Transport Communications and the Faculty of Energy were able to get acquainted with the architectural monuments of Belarus.
The students showed interest and asked many questions related to the design and appearance of Christian churches, medieval castles, the use of building materials and the influence of climate on the construction of structures.
The castles in Mir and Nesvizh were of particular interest to the audience, where foreign students expressed their desire to go on an excursion.
Familiarization of foreign students with the exhibition "Partisans of Belarus"
On October 22 - November 2, 2021, the Belarusian National Technical University hosted the exhibition "Partisans of Belarus".
In the year of the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, unique archival documents, award lists, combat characteristics, descriptions of battles and battles of partisans were presented there. The exhibition was presented by the Belarus Segodnya publishing house and the National Archives with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
Foreign students were so interested in the materials that later they visited the Museum of the Great Patriotic War. This war became a serious test for our country and the most important event of the 20th century. Such exhibitions instill patriotism in Belarusian students, a sense of pride in the heroic feat of the people. Foreign students arouse interest and admiration for a foreign culture.
