On May 27, the Belarusian National Technical University hosted a dialogue platform on the topic "Prevention of offenses and crimes among young people." The event was organized by the Center for Ideological Work and Youth Affairs and the Faculty of International Cooperation for Foreign students of BNTU.
Pavel Shirvel, Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation, delivered a welcoming speech to the students. He introduced the invited speakers and outlined key issues for discussion. The focus was on the rules of the internal regulations of the BNTU and dormitories, as well as the inadmissibility of buying term papers, tests and theses. The audience was reminded of the responsibility for such actions and the importance of observing academic ethics.
Then the state traffic inspector of the Department of the State Automobile Inspection of the Department of Internal Affairs of the administration of the Sovetsky district of Minsk, police captain Alexander Korshuk, addressed the audience. He emphasized the strict observance of Traffic Rules. He also warned about the risks for foreign citizens: for driving under the influence of alcohol or committing an accident with serious consequences, not only administrative, but also criminal liability is provided. The speaker warned students against reckless use of carsharing and urged them to carefully study the differences in the rules of the road in Belarus and other countries.
An operative of the department for combating cybercrime of the criminal police of the Department of Internal Affairs of the administration of the Sovetsky district of Minsk, senior police Lieutenant Valery Savlevich, analyzed in detail the schemes of telephone fraudsters. International students were reminded: in no case should you transfer your bank card and account data to third parties, as well as succumb to provocations when dealing with cryptocurrency. Separately, the speaker explained the algorithm of actions when detecting someone else's bank card — do not touch the find or take it to the nearest police station.
Yelena Bulko, Inspector of the Juvenile Affairs Inspectorate of the Public Security Police of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Sovetsky District Administration of Minsk, touched upon topics related to drug trafficking, drinking alcohol and smoking in public places.
Such meetings are an important element of educational work aimed at the adaptation and safety of foreign citizens during their studies in Belarus. We thank the speakers for an important and interesting dialogue with BNTU international students!
