On August 7, 2025, students visited the «Khatyn», one of the most tragic and significant places in Belarus, which symbolizes the memory of the victims of Nazism during the Great Patriotic War.
For many foreign students, visiting Khatyn was a deeply emotional experience. The students saw symbolic sculptures, including the «Unconquered Man», and heard the mournful tolling of bells that reminded them of each of the 185 villages that were destroyed in Belarus.
Visiting the memorial is not only a tribute to the victims, but also an important educational moment. Many foreign students said that they now better understand why the memory of the war is so revered in Belarus. «It's important to know the history so that it never happens again» – one of the students shared.
The visit to Khatyn left a lasting impression on the students of the BNTU. This place not only tells us about the past, but also makes us think about the future. Such excursions are an important part of the adaptation of international students in Belarus, helping them to gain a deeper understanding of the country in which they live and study. Additionally, these trips foster a sense of respect for history and remind young people of the importance of preserving peace.
