Студенты ФМС на встрече с инспектором отдела по гражданству и миграции

On May 15, 2026, a meeting of foreign students with an inspector of the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Administration of the Soviet District of Minsk, Lieutenant of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Maltsev Maxim Viktorovich, was held at BNTU.

The event was organized with the aim of raising the legal literacy of students and preventing offenses. During the meeting, the key aspects of the migration legislation of the Republic of Belarus were described in detail: foreign students were reminded of the rules and deadlines for registration, the procedure for extending documents, and the consequences of violating them.

Special attention was paid to serious legal issues. The OGiM officer explained to the young people the provisions of Article 328 (illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogues) and Article 205 (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. The students were told in detail about the severity of these crimes, the punishments for them, including fines and imprisonment, as well as the irreversible consequences for their ability to continue their studies and stay in the country.

In addition to criminal liability, the meeting also addressed administrative issues, such as the current penalties for violations of the rules governing the stay of foreign citizens, failure to comply with registration deadlines, and other migration-related offenses.

The issues of employment were also discussed. The students were explained on what grounds they can be officially employed during their studies, what documents are required for this and what risks entails working without the appropriate permit.

At the end of the meeting, the participants were able to ask questions of interest.
