For third-year students majoring in "Customs",practical-oriented classes were organized on April 16, 23, and 30, 2026, at the Minsk National Airport under the guidance of Professor E.S. Golubtsova from the Department of "Customs" in the discipline 'Technical Means of Customs Control.' The excursion was conducted by the Head of the Aviation Security Service, Vladimir Alexandrovich Drannikov. It was aimed at studying various technical means of customs control, as well as their application in the practical activities of customs authorities and the security service.
The excursion began with an introductory talk: the Head of the Aviation Security and Regime Service, Vladimir Drannikov, acquainted the students with the safety principles in the airport territory, as well as with the mechanisms of interaction between services when controlling passengers and cargo.
Then, in practice, Vladimir Alexandrovich demonstrated to the students all the technical inspection and screening devices mentioned during the discussion, and also visually showed how they work. A device for detecting hidden items in the ankle and foot area drew particular interest from the future customs officers, as well as from ordinary airport visitors — it allows inspections to be conducted without the need to remove shoes, which is much faster and more comfortable for passengers.
Senior Inspector A. V. Podrebinkina from the Customs Operations and Control Department also spoke to the students, showing how customs control is carried out, how baggage inspections are conducted, how passengers choose the green or red corridor, and much more. All of this allowed the students to gain a deeper understanding of the working process of the customs authorities at Minsk National Airport. The tour left the participants with vivid professional impressions.
Similar off-site practice-oriented events are an important element in the training of future customs professionals. They not only allow one to see the work of a customs post from the inside, but also strengthen the connection between theory and practice, give students a real understanding of the profession, and motivate them toward conscious professional development.
