On March 25, 2026, the International Student Scientific and Technical Conference “Innovations in Mechanical Engineering” was held at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University as part of the International Forum “Creativity and Innovation – 2026.” The event was organized in cooperation between the Belarusian National Technical University and Shenyang Institute of Technology, bringing together students, faculty members, and young researchers from both countries.The conference was the second of its kind; the first one was successfully held on April 9, 2025, marking the beginning of this international academic collaboration. The conference program demonstrated broad international participation: along with students from China, participants from the Republic of the Congo and Zimbabwe also took part, highlighting the high level of internationalization of the educational process and the expansion of the geography of scientific cooperation. The conference served as a platform for the exchange of knowledge, scientific ideas, and practical developments.



The conference opened with welcoming speeches delivered by representatives of the university and the department. Opening remarks were given by Irina V. Shvets, Deputy Dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty; Valery K. Sheleg, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology; Zhang Lili, Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation of Shenyang Institute of Technology; and Wang Lijun, Director of the Center for Cooperation with Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus at Shenyang Institute of Technology. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of international cooperation, the development of academic ties, and support for students in their pursuit of scientific and professional growth.



Particular attention was drawn to the presentations of international students, who delivered their scientific reports in Russian. As their education at the university is conducted in Russian, the participants demonstrated confident command of professional terminology and its effective use in academic communication. Their presentations reflected a high level of preparation, clarity of delivery, and a deep understanding of the research topics, confirming their readiness to participate in the international scientific community.









The reports addressed actual issues in modern mechanical engineering, reflecting key trends in the development of the field. Special attention was paid to additive manufacturing technologies, which enable the production of complex geometries with high precision and minimal material consumption. The participants also considered the development and application of nanocoatings for corrosion and wear protection, which is essential for improving the durability of components operating under challenging conditions.




Significant attention was given to improving the efficiency of material processing, including the optimization of cutting parameters, enhancement of tooling, and implementation of modern quality control methods. The prospects for the application of artificial intelligence in manufacturing processes were also discussed, ranging from design automation to intelligent equipment control. This wide range of topics demonstrated the high level of preparation of the participants and their engagement in solving current scientific and technical problems.









The conference was held in an atmosphere of open dialogue and active discussion. Participants asked questions, exchanged opinions, and received valuable feedback from faculty members and peers. This format allowed not only the presentation of research results but also significantly broadened the scientific outlook of the students.

The event concluded with an award ceremony. All participants were presented with certificates in recognition of their active participation, high level of preparation, and contribution to the development of student research. For many students, this became an important milestone in their academic development and a motivation for further research activities.


















Such events confirm the high level of training of BNTU students and contribute to strengthening international cooperation with Shenyang Institute of Technology. The conference “Innovations in Mechanical Engineering” has once again demonstrated that science unites people of different cultures and countries, and that the pursuit of knowledge knows no boundaries.
