Agreement with the University of Tobruk: Defining the Vectors of the Future

Соглашение с Университетом Тобрук: определяем векторы будущего

Today, November 25, the Belarusian National Technical University was visited by a delegation from the University of Tobruk (State of Libya) to discuss cooperation in the educational and scientific fields. The educational institution was represented by the President of the University of Tobruk, Hasan Khairallah, the Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Abdulhamid Saad, and a representative of the embassy.

The Belarusian side was represented by the Rector of BNTU, Sergey Kharitonchik, Vice-Rector for Research Kseniya Yakushenko, Dean of the Joint Faculty BNTU – TGTU, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation Nikolay Vishnyakov, Dean of the Faculty of Power Engineering Evgeny Ponomarenko, Deputy Dean for Ideological and Educational Work of the Faculty of Information Technology and Robotics Evgeny Robilko, and Deputy General Director for Development and Strategic Planning of the BNTU Science and Technology Park “Polytechnic” Svetlana Pankova.

At the beginning of the visit, the delegation was introduced to the exhibition of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) Scientific and Technological Park 'Polytechnic.' The tour was conducted by Alexey Aldoshin, head of the Belarusian Center for Scientific and Technical Cooperation with the People's Republic of China at BNTU.

Afterwards, the parties proceeded to negotiations. Sergey Kharitonchik spoke in detail about BNTU's activities and possible options for further cooperation.

– The main areas of our activity are education, science and innovation, and commercialization. This is not just a title; it reflects our approach to organizing the university's work. All three areas are interconnected, and each influences the others. We believe that there cannot be a scientist who cannot achieve the commercialization of their scientific developments, – emphasized the rector.

The parties discussed key areas of cooperation (academic mobility, development of joint educational programs, creation of joint production), exchanged concepts and specific proposals, which were reflected in the agreement signed at the conclusion of the meeting. This document records the agreement to detail all initiatives for the next round of negotiations.
