A training, practice-oriented seminar on the development of project-based robotics

As part of cooperation agreements between the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) and general secondary education institutions, the Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics, together with the Educational Integration Support Sector of CRIO&EOUP, held a practice-oriented training seminar on November 4, 2025, at Gymnasium No. 39 in Minsk for teachers overseeing engineering-track classes and implementing the elective program “In the World of Technology: Choosing an Engineering Profession”.

During the seminar, Sergei Sergeevich Prokhorovich, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Robotic Systems, delivered a talk titled “Project-Based Robotics.” The program also covered mastering the TRIK Studio platform and modern methods of teaching the fundamentals of robotics in general secondary schools.


The event aimed to build and develop a professional community of educators with BNTU acting as the coordinator for advancing engineering education in the Republic of Belarus; to improve the content of the educational process in school-level robotics through the adoption of modern teaching methods; and to promote engineering and technical education.

The seminar featured the following speakers:

1. Dmitry Valeryevich Chernov, Physics Teacher, Secondary School No. 15, Soligorsk. Topic: Using TRIK Studio virtual robotics to prepare for robotics competitions.


2. Alexey Valeryevich Golik, Representative of the Organizing Committee of the “Educational Robotics Cup,” PhD (Engineering). Topic: Educational Robotics Cup competitions: formats, requirements, and opportunities for school participation.


3. Sergei Sergeevich Prokhorovich, Senior Lecturer, Department of Robotic Systems. Topic: Applying project-based robotics in the educational process, designing student assignments, and project-based robotics contests in the Republic of Belarus.

The seminar concluded with agreements on methodological support for schools, the exchange of teaching materials, and further cooperation to prepare students for participation in competitions and project activities in the field of robotics.
