On July 27, 2025, the Uzbek feature film «Суперневестка» was screened at Dormitory 16.
The film tells the story of a young woman who faces cultural differences and expectations and decides to embrace Uzbek customs, cuisine, and family traditions in order to become the "perfect daughter-in-law." The film explores themes of adaptation, respect for elders, and the importance of family values, Uzbek cuisine, and hospitality, as well as the role of the daughter-in-law in family and social life, with warmth and humor.
Through the character of the main heroine Diana, the audience saw how modern technologies (such as the Internet) can become a tool for learning and respectfully assimilating other cultures. The film sparked a lively discussion about intercultural marriages and the preservation of national identity in the modern world.
