BNTU Open Day

День открытых дверей в БНТУ

Today, on March 23, within the framework of a Single Open Day, Belarusian National Technical University opened its doors to applicants from all over the country. The updated format, unchanged traditions and favorite pranks – about everything in order.

Faculties and branches of BNTU actively introduced applicants to the university and its specialties, interactive activitiies and master classes were organized. The applicants practiced Chinese calligraphy, passed career guidance tests, and took part in innovative games and quests. In addition, there was a field kitchen where applicants could refresh themselves and continue their acquaintance with the university.

The stands of the enterprises that ordered personnel, which are also located on the site, aroused great interest of future students. Among the 32 enterprises represented today are Minsk Tractor Plant, Minsk Automobile Plant, Amkodor, Customs Committee, Mingaz, Institute of Physics and Technology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Integral and many others.

Representatives of enterprises held presentations of their companies, talked about career opportunities and working conditions. Among other things, in front of the main building there was an exhibition of cars of the leading Belarusian enterprises – partners of BNTU.

The rector of BNTU Sergey Kharitonchik shared his opinion about a Single Open Day:

– A Single Open Day is a large–scale event that is being held in our country for the first time on the timely initiative of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. In my opinion, this innovation will enhance the image of the entire system of higher and secondary special education.

Of course, we expect from the new format more effective results in informing the public about Belarusian universities, professional orientation of applicants, as well as closer interaction of enterprises that order  personnel with the national education system.

The enterprises that order  personnel also noted that a Single Open Day allows the university to visually demonstrate to students all the opportunities and advantages of working at enterprises. Thus, the likelihood of attracting talented young specialists in specific areas increases. In turn, the university gets the opportunity to cooperate with partner enterprises, develop and improve its educational programs taking into account the requirements of the labor market.

The extensive program of events included an exciting quest on the topic of university life. Applicants had to choose any of the thematic routes and go to get acquainted with the faculties. On each faculty, participants were given a  sticker marking the completion of this stage, which had to be pasted into the ticket. The winners from among those who filled out the entire ticket were randomly selected among the participants who completed the quest and gave the most correct answers in the quiz.

In addition, a short meeting with the university's management was held in the assembly hall of the main building of BNTU. Rector Sergey Kharitonchik, First Vice-rector Andrey Safonov, Director of the Institute of Integrated Forms of Education and Monitoring of Education Natalia Afanasyeva told applicants about the upcoming admission campaign, preparations for it, the necessary documents for admission and the specifics of submitting documents to BNTU.

After the meeting, the applicants went to consultation-trainings “How to pass the CE and CT with 100 points” in mathematics, physics, Russian, Belarusian and English languages and excursions around BNTU.

We thank the applicants for their interest and look forward to meeting them at the admission campaign – 2024!
