Today, January 5, a winter open day (WOD) was held at the Belarusian National Technical University. Updated format, unchanging traditions and favorite jokes - about all this in order.

The first event of the WOD was a seminar with enterprises that order personnel. Its purpose was to discuss the issues of training specialists within the framework of targeted recruitment and the upcoming admission campaign.

Rector of the Belarusian National Technical University Sergey Kharitonchik spoke at the seminar: "The most important task set not only for the university, but also necessarily for enterprises, is the training of highly qualified engineering personnel. In the training of specialists, the continuity of education "university – enterprise" is very important. One of these areas is training on the terms of targeted training. We will begin to solve this problem with you today, communicating with applicants at the open day and attracting them to enroll for training on the terms of targeted training."
Natalia Afanasyeva, director of the Institute of Integrated Forms of Education and Monitoring of Education at BNTU, spoke about the preparation of documentation required for the targeted recruitment.
For reference: much attention is paid to the targeted training at the national level. So, today the Head of State signed a decree on amendments to the Rules for the admission of persons for higher and secondary special education. They provide for the possibility of obtaining target specialists by competition among individual organizations that order personnel (in the absence of a competition in the specialty). Also, the minimum average score of the certificate is introduced for target students – at least 7 (except for the specialties which are most in demand by the economy).

В At 09:30, the faculty exhibition began its work, and here we can say about the first innovation of the Open day: the enterprises that ordered personnel also took part in the event. That is why today applicants had the opportunity to decide not only on their specialty, but also on their future place of work.

This is what the applicant Roman did, who came to the Open day already knowing that he wanted to enter the Power Engeneering faculty. In addition, the guy is interested in obtaining higher education according to the targeted recruitment.
– I see targeted training as a guarantee of productive studies and stable work after graduation. It turns out that by applying for the targeted recruitment, you already know where you will work and, accordingly, you will be able to focus on specific areas and disciplines.

At the grand opening of the event, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of BNTU Yury Nikolaychik addressed the applicants with a welcoming speech.
– We are expanding training on targeted recruitment, and today I recommend you to pay attention to each of the areas presented at the WOD. While here, you have a unique opportunity not only to ask your questions, but also to communicate with both students and future employers.

Then, at the site, applicants continued to study their specialties, participated in master classes and communicated with students. A girl named Ksenia also chose her future profession. The girl has not yet decided on her specialty, but she is already sure that she wants to find a future profession in the economic sphere.
– I plan to take exams in mathematics and physics, so I am considering the Belarusian National Technical University for admission. There are quite interesting technical specialties with a focus on both engineering and economics, which is completely suitable for me.

Compliance with traditions also found a place at this Open day. In this regard, applicants who decided to take a break from studying professions knew that not only a buffet, but also a field kitchen was waiting for them on the ground floor. There, the guys could refresh themselves with hot porridge and flavored tea from the Military Technical Faculty. As always, the food was incomparable. We checked it out.

In addition, so that the children who visited BNTU today had the opportunity to take with them not only valuable knowledge about specialties and professions, but also a piece of Polytechnic, the BNTU Media Center prepared a drawing of branded merch that has become a tradition. The requirements are simple as always: answer questions about BNTU and get the opportunity to win merch.

At the end of the event there were tours to the faculties. It was quite logical because after studying and choosing a specialty, it is important to get to know the venue of lectures, colloquiums and laboratories more closely.

We are glad that today even more applicants have learned about studying at BNTU and are already looking forward to meeting everyone at the 2024 admissions campaign.
