The Belarusian National Technical University has once again taken part in the UI GreenMetric international ranking (Overall Rankings) and has moved up 197 positions in the new version of the ranking, taking 843th place in the world. In addition, the university has moved from 6th to 3rd place among Belarusian universities.
For reference: UI GreenMetric is an international ranking that evaluates universities based on their environmental sustainability and initiatives. It was first conducted in 2010 and today publishes data on higher education institutions from around the world. The ranking evaluates universities in six main categories: infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transport, education and research. This helps universities understand how they can improve their environmental sustainability and become leaders in the field of sustainable development. The 2026 version also includes a section related to management in the field of sustainable development.
For BNTU, participating in such a prestigious ranking is not only an opportunity to assess its achievements but also an incentive to implement new environmental initiatives. Further work in this area will contribute not only to improving the ranking indicators but also to strengthening the university’s reputation as a modern educational institution committed to the principles of sustainable development.
It is now even easier to track the university’s environmental projects. The BNTU website features a special thematic section, and all such materials are grouped under the convenient hashtag “sustainable development”. Click on the tag, read the relevant news, and be the first to find out how our university is taking care of the planet’s future.
