The Building 15 Library Has Moved: A New Space for Study, Work, and Relaxation

Библиотека 15-го корпуса переехала: новое пространство для учебы, работы и отдыха

A large, bright reading room, comfortable tables, computers, sofas and bean bags – a new space of the BNTU Scientific Library has opened in Building 15 of BNTU.

Now students of the Faculties of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Transport Communications, Power Engineering and Construction, and Engineering and Pedagogy (construction specialization) do not have to look for a free classroom to prepare for classes, work on a project or simply spend time between classes – they can visit the library instead.

New address: BNTU Building 15, 150 Independence Avenue
Circulation desk: Room 320
Reading room: Room 307

The library is not just a place to borrow books: the new reading room is a modern space for independent study and relaxation.

Here you can:

  • prepare for classes or exams;

  • work on a term paper, graduation project or presentation;

  • study using your own laptop;

  • use the library's computers;

  • read a book in a quiet environment;

  • charge your laptop or phone – power outlets are available in the room;

  • spend time between classes in a comfortable setting;

  • view thematic exhibitions and discover new arrivals.

For independent study, there are large, comfortable tables, while sofas and bean bags are available for relaxation.

In the future, the reading room will also be available for students and teachers to book for their own events.

How can you get textbooks?

The relocation of the library collection is still underway. Therefore, most of the textbooks are still available at the previous location:

146 Independence Avenue, Canteen No. 4, 3rd floor.

For now, this is where most textbooks are issued, including to first-year students, as well as where library cards are issued and students can register with the library.

Who can use the library?

Students of the Faculties of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Transport Communications, Power Engineering and Construction, and Engineering and Pedagogy (construction specialization) can borrow books to take home. All BNTU students can use the reading room.

A library card is required to use the library.

When can you visit?

Monday – Friday:

  • Circulation desk: 9:00–17:30

  • Reading room: 9:00–19:00

Saturday:

  • Circulation desk and reading room: 8:15–16:45

Sunday – closed.

Come and check out the new library. Whether you need a place to prepare for classes, a computer for work, a comfortable table for a study project, or simply a quiet space to spend an hour between classes, the new library space in Building 15 is already open – come and explore it!
