BNTU is taking part in the II International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Belarus”

БНТУ принимает участие в II Международной промышленной выставке «ИННОПРОМ. Беларусь»

From September 30 to October 2, the Minsk International Exhibition Center “BelExpo” is hosting the II International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. BELARUS”. Belarusian National Technical University is one of the event’s participants.

For reference: “INNOPROM. “Belarus” is an international industrial exhibition that brings together representatives of various industrial sectors, innovative companies, investors, and government agencies. It serves as a unique platform for the exchange of experience, the introduction of new ideas, and the development of cooperation between countries, as well as for increasing the relevance of the industrial agenda.

Alongside the national stands of the organizing countries, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Cambodia, China, Turkey, and India present their expositions. This lineup of participants makes it possible to cover virtually all the key areas of the industrial economy in Eurasia.

The themes of the participants’ booths are centered around key components of industrial production and include six main areas: mechanical engineering and components, metallurgy and materials, industrial IT, industrial automation, industrial services, and the chemical industry. This structure reflects both traditional heavy industries and the processes of digital transformation and “green” production.

The scientific and technological park of the Belarusian National Technical University “Polytechnic” is also showcasing its developments at the exhibition. The technologies and equipment presented here have already been confirmed to be in demand on the market.

Thus, visitors to the exhibition can familiarize themselves with electrolytic‑plasma polishing of products made of steel, titanium, and Nitinol. This refers to electrolytic‑plasma polishing. The technology makes it possible to make the surface of parts perfectly smooth, remove burrs, laser cutting marks, scale, and contaminants, and prepare the product for coating. This is important for medicine: in cardiology and minimally invasive surgery, such processing of implantable products is essential. The technology has already been implemented in Russia, Belarus, and China. It is environmentally friendly, cost‑effective, and suitable for parts with complex shapes — even very small and thin ones.

The direction of restoring machine parts is equally important. Using flame spraying and surfacing, worn‑out elements can be brought back to life, and they will last longer than new ones. The coating is strong, wear‑resistant, and corrosion‑resistant. This approach is beneficial: the restored part costs less than a new one, and its service life increases by 1.5–2.5 times. The technology is in demand in oil production, mechanical engineering, agriculture, and other industries..

The exhibition also features developments in air purification for industrial use. The absorption‑biochemical unit (ABU) purifies ventilation air of harmful organic substances. It is suitable for foundries, woodworking, chemical, painting, and furniture manufacturing plants. The unit operates on a principle suggested by nature: without harmful wastewater and emissions. The purification efficiency is up to 96% for organic substances and almost 100% for suspended particles. There are no analogues in the CIS. Today, more than 140 such units are operating at 60 enterprises in Russia, Belarus, and other countries.

All these developments are the result of the work of scientists, students, and postgraduate students at BNTU. The university does not just teach; it creates technologies that already help industry and medicine today.

— Today, the NTP “Politekhnik” is the living embodiment of the “University 3.0” concept: a strong and inseparable link between science, higher education, and real production. Having grown out of the foundations of the mechanical engineering and mechanical and technological faculties and metallurgy, today the technopark places a strong emphasis on medical products. We are mastering the production of high‑tech products for traumatology (endoprostheses, cup components) as well as cardiology (vessels, specialized stands, delivery systems). “INNOPROM” focuses on high technologies and integration. Our production potential already allows us to meet a significant portion of the Belarusian market’s demand for specific medical products, said Filipp Semenyuk, an engineer in the advertising and exhibition activities sector at the R&D Center of the Belarusian National Technical University “Polytechnic”.

The personnel model of the technology park deserves special attention: students and postgraduate students are officially employed there. This is a natural social elevator: from education and practical training to guaranteed employment at a high‑tech enterprise. This model allows young professionals to get involved in real production and project activities while still in the process of obtaining their education, to consolidate their theoretical knowledge in practice, and to master modern technologies. This ensures a continuous link between education, science, and industry, and graduates receive not only a diploma but also a solid professional start, which helps retain personnel in high‑tech sectors of the economy.

However, BNTU’s participation in the exhibition is not limited to this. The university also presented its other developments — from scientific research to ready‑made solutions that can be applied in the real sector of the economy.

Thus, exhibition visitors could familiarize themselves with the university’s developments in the field of laser technology, microsystem electronics, and industrial automation.

For example, the stand features solid‑state laser sources and systems that are used in optical location and ranging, medicine, measurement technology, precision micro‑processing of materials, ultra‑fast spectroscopy, and nonlinear optics. Here, you could also see laser crystals used as passive shutters for miniature emitters and for generating nanosecond laser pulses in the spectral range of the atmospheric transmission window, including those that are conditionally safe for the eyes.

Visitors to the booth were also interested in MEMS tilt sensors, which are designed for integrated navigation systems in aviation and shipbuilding, as well as for positioning systems of special and dual purpose. Alongside them, software for automated process control systems is presented — for managing industrial facilities and life support systems. Thus, the participation of BNTU and the BNTU Technopark in “INNOPROM. Belarus” is not just a demonstration of achievements, but a confirmation of the university’s systemic role in the country’s technological development. Innovations begin within the walls of BNTU! We turn knowledge into technologies that save lives and drive industrial development.
