On 29–30 September 2026, the IV Uzbek-Belarusian Interparliamentary Forum was held in ancient Khiva – a city with a thousand-year history. The Forum was organized by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
The forum became more than just a platform for political dialogue – it served as a genuine bridge connecting the economies, cultures and scientific-technical potential of the two countries. The programme was packed: a meeting of the interparliamentary commission, meetings between local representative bodies and youth parliaments, and the Fourth Business Forum of Women Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Belarus.
On 29 September, a meeting took place between Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. The parties discussed the continuation of regular interparliamentary dialogue, strengthening the role of parliaments in implementing agreements reached at the highest level, and further intensifying contacts between committees and interparliamentary cooperation groups.
Particular attention was given to expanding trade and economic cooperation: joint projects in agriculture, mechanical engineering, medicine, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, textiles and other industries. The discussion also covered the development of direct contacts between entrepreneurs and strengthening the role of parliaments in increasing mutual trade volumes. The importance of cultural and humanitarian ties and joint projects in education, healthcare and tourism was emphasized.
Background. One of the important practical results of Uzbek-Belarusian cooperation is the effective work of women's business forums. They have established themselves as a platform for direct dialogue between the business circles of the two countries. The results speak for themselves:
As part of the forum, an exhibition of national products from organizations of two countries was held. Over two days, it showcased projects and initiatives implemented by ministries, agencies, industry associations and enterprises of Uzbekistan and Belarus.
The exposition highlighted achievements in the textile, silk, leather and footwear, and woodworking industries, as well as in the production of agricultural and food products. Separate displays featured successful women's entrepreneurship projects, IT developments and innovative solutions, medical and cosmetic industry products, tourism potential and achievements in mechanical engineering. More than 100 enterprises from the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus took part in the exhibition.

A special place in the exposition is occupied by the Belarusian National Technical University, including the BNTU Science and Technology Park "Polytechnic". Belarus's leading technical university presents a whole range of innovative developments:

These developments are not merely scientific achievements. They are solutions ready for implementation, capable of finding application in industry, medicine and instrument-making in Uzbekistan and Belarus.

The IV Uzbek-Belarusian Interparliamentary Forum in Khiva became a vivid confirmation that the strategic partnership between the two countries is not a declaration but daily work, filled with concrete deeds, projects and contracts. From interparliamentary dialogue to the "Made in Uzbekistan" and "Made in Belarus" exhibition, from women's business forums to BNTU's innovative developments – every facet of this cooperation works towards a shared future.
And Khiva – a city that for centuries was a crossroads of cultures and trade routes – is once again becoming a symbol of connection, now at a new, high-tech level.
