What has changed? The scholarship amounts at BNTU have been updated.

С 1 августа обновлены размеры всех видов стипендий

Starting from August 1, 2026, the amounts of all types of scholarships for state‑funded students have been updated. Along with the new status, those who have enrolled in a state‑funded form of study also receive new opportunities, in particular, a student scholarship. While studying at BNTU, students can apply for the following types of scholarships: academic, social, special, personal, named, and the scholarship of the President of the Republic of Belarus..

Academic scholarship

An academic scholarship is a payment made to state‑funded students, the amount of which directly depends on the results of the exam session. In the first year, in the first semester, all state‑funded students will receive the same amount, which currently amounts to 201.03 BYN. In the future, the amount of the study scholarship will be determined using an increasing coefficient, which can be viewed via the link. The correspondence between the coefficients and the amounts is shown below.

For master’s students, the amount of the academic scholarship is 321.65 BYN.

The scholarship is paid on the 24th of each month. If this date falls on a weekend, the payment is made on the Friday before the weekend.

Social scholarship

The academic scholarship is awarded based on the results of the exam session, provided that the average score is above 6 (with the exception of some groups of specialties where an average of 5 is acceptable). If the average score is lower, there’s no need to be upset. A student has the right to receive a social scholarship. It is paid only twice during the entire period of study.

This scholarship can be received not only by those whose average grade is lower. The following categories of students may also be eligible for this payment:

orphans, children left without parental care, or children who have lost their last surviving parent during their studies;

children from the families of military personnel, members of the command and rank‑and‑file staff of law enforcement agencies, or employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (who died or became disabled while on duty);

Former military personnel who have become disabled as a result of injury, concussion, injury, or illness acquired during military service;

disabled persons;

citizens affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster or other radiation accidents;

women who registered with a women's clinic before the 12th week of pregnancy;

student parents;

people suffering from tuberculosis;

citizens in a difficult financial situation.

At the moment, the amount of the social scholarship is 137.85 BYN.

Special scholarship

A special scholarship may be granted to students for the entire period of study, starting from the first semester of the first year. Family members of deceased military personnel are entitled to this payment, provided they submit the necessary documents to the dean’s office. The amount of the payment currently stands at 275.70 BYN.

Personal scholarship

For those budget‑funded students who actively demonstrate their abilities in sports, public life, and science, the opportunity to receive a personal scholarship is provided. To do this, it is necessary to:  have at least two grades of 10 or one grade of 10 and one grade of 9 in academic subjects based on the results of the exam session (it is important to note that this does not apply to socio‑humanitarian and elective subjects);

To participate in scientific conferences and present one’s research (this implies publication in a collection or participation in a competition of scientific papers, conferences, and other similar events).

As of today, the amount of the personal scholarship has been increased to 350.37 BYN.

Named scholarship

Similar requirements apply to obtaining a named scholarship, but there are certain differences. Thus, to receive a named scholarship, a student must:

To have excellent academic performance: over the last four semesters, at least 75 % of grades must be 10 and 9, with the remaining grades not lower than 7 in each semester; to actively participate in research and public activities; to take part in volunteer work, sports competitions, and creative projects.

At present, the named scholarship amounts to 402.07 BYN.

Research activity includes mastering all stages of organizing and carrying out fundamental, experimental, and applied work, as well as innovative projects aimed at solving pressing scientific problems in various sectors of the economy.

High indicators of research activity are:

independent scientific research;

participation in the work of student research laboratories, clubs, and design bureaus;

the presence of scientific publications.

Students’ social activities are assessed based on their participation:

in the work of the self‑government bodies of educational institutions and youth public associations;

in organizing and holding socially significant events, campaigns, and providing patronage to war and labour veterans;

in sports competitions, mass sports events, exhibitions, competitions of professional skill, technical and decorative‑applied creativity, reviews, and Olympiads;

in organizing and holding socially significant events, engaging in artistic and technical creativity, and providing patronage to difficult teenagers;

in the volunteer movement, student labour brigades, and socially useful labour.

Presidential scholarship

Students in their second to sixth years are encouraged to achieve outstanding results in scientific and creative activities through the Presidential Scholarship of the Republic of Belarus. The requirements for potential recipients of this scholarship include excellent academic performance throughout their studies, outstanding achievements in research and creative activities, and exemplary conduct.

University leaders submit candidates for the Presidential Scholarship to the Council of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus within two weeks after the end of the semester. Presidential Scholarships of the Republic of Belarus are awarded for one semester. The student receiving this scholarship retains the established academic scholarship.

A scholarship is not just financial support; it is an assessment of the student’s work and efforts. We wish you a stable semester and well‑deserved higher scholarships!
