The competition of professional skills "Safe route: reconstruction and arrangement" was held at the FTC

Конкурс профмастерства «Безопасный маршрут: реконструкция и обустройство» прошел на ФТК

On Friday, May 15, the Faculty of Transport Communications (FTC) at BNTU hosted a prominent and significant event — the professional excellence competition "Safe route: reconstruction and arrangement". The event brought together talented fourth-year students majoring in "Automobile Roads" to test their readiness for solving complex production challenges under conditions closely simulating real-world engineering practice.

A Bridge Between Theory and Real Production

The main objective of the competition is to increase future graduates' interest in their chosen profession, master additional design skills for transport infrastructure facilities, and acquire advanced competencies in the field of reconstruction and repair of automobile roads.

The competition was organized by the specialized Department of Automobile Roads, with Senior Lecturer Nadezhda Igorevna Remez acting as the mastermind and lead organizer of the event.

Holding a competition of this caliber was made possible thanks to the support of the faculty's strategic partners. The State Enterprise "BELGIPRODOR" provided invaluable assistance by supplying authentic baseline data for the competition assignment. This allowed students to work with materials from actual road facilities rather than abstract academic diagrams.

Special status was brought to the event by the participation of the "CREDO-DIALOGUE" company, a developer of cutting-edge engineering software. The cooperation between FTC BNTU and "CREDO-DIALOGUE" in providing the educational process with modern software suites has been ongoing for more than 25 years. A quarter-century of joint work guarantees that graduates leaving the university are fully proficient in the most relevant software of the road industry.

Authoritative Expertise

The evaluation of project solutions was carried out by an independent and highly professional expert commission, which included recognized industry experts and leading lecturers:

  • Rusak Vladimir Mikhailovich — Head of the Analyst Engineers Bureau at "CREDO-DIALOGUE";
  • Rak Irina Evgenievna — Head of the Department of "Geodesy and Aerospace Geotechnologies";
  • Malakhova Yaroslava Yurievna — HR Manager at "CREDO-DIALOGUE";
  • Ryzhkovich Alina Vasilievna — Lead Design Engineer at UDP SE "BELGIPRODOR";
  • Mordas Marina Sergeevna — Senior Lecturer at the Department of Automobile Roads
  • Remez Nadezhda Igorevna — Senior Lecturer at the Department of Automobile Roads, BNTU; Lead Design Engineer at UDP SE "BELGIPRODOR".

3.5 Hours of Intense Competition and Team Spirit

Three ambitious fourth-year teams faced off in the engineering duel:

  1. Sergey Gedo and Savely Mitrofanov (group 11403122);
  2. Alexander Breyvo, Nadezhda Kostevich, and Alexey Mironchik (group 11403222);
  3. Nikita Kulish and Yuri Baltrushaitis (group 11403422).

For three and a half hours, the students worked continuously on the competition task. Despite the spirit of rivalry, a remarkably warm, collegial atmosphere prevailed on the ground. Students actively discussed complex design solutions and, at the right moments, literally "lent a shoulder" to support neighboring teams, demonstrating genuine professional solidarity.

The final chord was the public defense of projects before the strict jury. All participants demonstrated deep knowledge and non-standard approaches. However, based on the results of the defense, the team of group 11403422, consisting of Nikita Kulish and Yuri Baltrushaitis, proved to be stronger and more convincing. The guys managed to fully implement all the set tasks within a tight time constraint.

Looking into the Future and Ambitious Horizons

The organizers emphasize that this professional excellence competition is intended to become a fine tradition for the faculty. The main goal is to build a continuous system where the educational process and the real sector of road facility design evolve in close tandem, constantly supporting and nurturing each other. Such synergy will allow forming a community of highly motivated and interested young specialists right from the university bench. As a result, new personnel will enter the road construction industry, genuinely caring about and "burning for" the quality of their work.

FTC BNTU has ambitious plans for the development of this project. In the near future, it is planned to expand the geography of participants and bring the competition first to the national (republican) and subsequently to the international level.

Furthermore, the organizers intend to scale the competition stages by developing unique tasks for related specialties, such as "Geodesy" and "Construction of Transport Communications". This will combine the efforts of future engineers of various profiles and cover the entire life cycle of transport construction facilities as broadly as possible — from the initial geodetic surveys to commissioning the finished facility.

The Faculty of Transport Communications of BNTU expresses its sincere gratitude to SE "BELGIPRODOR" and "CREDO-DIALOGUE" for their long-term support, expert participation, and invaluable contribution to the development of the new generation of road builders. We are proud of our students and confident that our cooperation with partners will only grow stronger, opening up new horizons!
