Family is a source of strength and spirituality. A dialogue platform dedicated to Family Day was held at BNTU

Семья – источник силы и духовности. В БНТУ прошла диалоговая площадка, приуроченная ко Дню семьи

Today, May 15, Family Day is celebrated in the Republic of Belarus. In honor of this, a dialogue platform titled "Family – a Source of Strength and Spirituality" was held at BNTU. The speakers discussed with students the role of family in a person's life, the state's demographic policy, and traditional values.

The attendees were addressed by Ksenia Yakushenko, Vice-Rector for Research at BNTU, Chair of the Primary Organization of the "Belarusian Union of Women" at BNTU; Anna Boyko, Delegate of the 7th Convocation of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, Director of the Minsk State College of Crafts and Design named after A. Kedyshko, Chair of the Soviet District Organization of the "Belarusian Union of Women"; and Priest Valentin Khoroshko, cleric of the Church of the Holy Right-Believing Prince Alexander Nevsky.

Opening the dialogue platform, Ksenia Valentinovna congratulated the students on the occasion and emphasized that family is the foundation on which a person's life is built. She noted the importance of preserving family ties and pointed out that young people have yet to grasp the full depth of this concept.

— Today we celebrate International Family Day. I want to say that you are still very young, everything is still ahead of you: finding your other half, getting married, starting a family, which I am confident you will be able to preserve for many years.

In turn, Anna Boyko continued the conversation, focusing on demographic security and social support for families in Belarus.

She spoke about the Republican projects "Being a Mom is Cool!" / "Being a Dad is Cool!", gave examples from personal experience, and listed measures of state support: maternity capital, benefits, free IVF, paternity leave, and much more.

The speaker warned young people against egocentric attitudes and urged them not to be afraid of starting a family.

— Family is our relatives, our parental home, our homeland. It is a place where we can seek help, find warmth and harmony, receive good advice. And when we celebrate happy holidays in a large, friendly family – that is true human happiness, – emphasized Anna Vladimirovna.

Priest Valentin Khoroshko drew attention to the spiritual aspects of family life. He emphasized that family is the first school of personality formation, where habits and character are established. He paid special attention to the alignment of words and deeds: true value is determined not by beautiful speeches, but by real actions.

— Value, first and foremost, is what we choose, what we actually do. It is important that your words are backed up by actions, – noted the cleric.

Holding such events helps students better understand the meaning of family, realize the responsibility for creating a strong union, and be inspired by examples of successfully combining professional fulfillment and family happiness.

We thank the speakers for an informative dialogue with the youth!
